Words truly cannot describe how incredible Joy Child Development Center is. All three of my children have attended here—my oldest is now 10, and my youngest, who is 4, is finishing her final year. From start to finish, our experience has been nothing short of amazing. The directors and staff are exceptional. Their top priority is creating a safe, nurturing, and meaningful environment where children feel genuinely loved while they learn and grow. You can feel the care and intention they put into each child every single day. Joy CDC has become more than just a childcare center for our family—they are family. I trust them completely and am endlessly grateful for the role they’ve played in my children’s early years. I truly couldn’t recommend them more 💛
Karen WhiteDec 7, 2025We are so grateful and absolutely adore Justice, Brittany, Sharron, Maria, Bud, everyone! Everybody is just so wonderful. I specifically sought out this particular daycare because they are a developmental daycare, and I'm so glad I did. Our sons, one in each room, have made so much progress just in the short time they've been there, since August. They really understand childhood development, as well as developmental delays, and are just so kind, and gentle, and patient, and take the time to care, and teach, and help our children grow. I have so many wonderful things to say about them. They have welcomed us when other places decline to work with children like ours. Love you guys 🥰
Kristen MalaivaDec 5, 2025Our son has attended since Joy CDC reopened in 2025. The experience has been amazing and he is excited to go to "school" every day. The staff and teachers all genuinely care about the children and their development. I would highly recommend the center to anyone!
Sean ANov 22, 2025Highly recommend this child care center. Staff is incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and professional. I went to preschool here…..45 years ago. I have experience with other local child care facilities, and I have to say, this is the best, hands down. Great work Joy! We are so pleased with your attentiveness, and the level of care you give our precious kids.
Kyle McDonaldNov 22, 2025Since enrolling my child at Joy Child Development Center in August, our experience has been overwhelmingly positive. It’s rare to find a preschool that balances attentive care, structured learning, and plenty of playtime, but Joy CDC manages to deliver all of that—and more. 👩🏫 Attentive Staff & Leadership The providers and the director are genuinely caring and engaged. They pay close attention to each child’s needs, creating a nurturing environment where kids feel safe, supported, and excited to learn. Their attentiveness shines through in both daily routines and special activities. 📚 Balanced Learning & Play The preschool offers dedicated learning time that helps children build foundational skills while keeping the experience fun and age-appropriate. Beyond academics, they emphasize substantial outdoor play, which is essential for healthy development. On days when Alaska’s weather doesn’t cooperate, the children still get to run around and burn energy in a spacious indoor playroom—a thoughtful alternative that ensures kids stay active. 🍽️ Full-Time Care with Meals One of the standout features is that Joy CDC provides full-time daycare/preschool along with meals. In Eagle River, finding a program that offers both is almost impossible—it truly feels like discovering a unicorn. This convenience makes life easier for parents while ensuring children are well-fed and cared for throughout the day. 🧠 Child’s Experience Most importantly, my child loves going here. He looks forward to his time at preschool, which speaks volumes about the atmosphere and quality of care. Knowing he’s happy and thriving gives me peace of mind. 🌈 Final Thoughts Joy Child Development Center is a gem in Eagle River. With attentive staff, structured learning, ample playtime, and the rare combination of full-time care plus meals, it stands out as an excellent choice for families. If you’re searching for a preschool that truly supports both children and parents, Joy CDC is well worth considering.
Borislava PeychevaNov 21, 2025Our daughter has attended here since 19 months old. This is our first childcare experience as a family. The teachers were so supportive while we were getting used to the new environment. There is a lot of communication between the center and parents. This is not just a daycare, they actually will work with you to develop your child’s skills. They also have been supporting my daughter’s social development and she’s learned a much already since she’s started. Her vocabulary and counting skills have also improved significantly and she brings home new interest everyday! (Right now it’s spooky spiders and t-Rex’s) Now that she’s more comfortable, she is excited to go see her friends in the morning and to tell us about her day after. Couldn’t recommend them enough!
