Do not recommend. 5 year old daughter would rather be stuck in a room coloring, at work with me than attending here. (Multiple different reasons) No option to tour the facility and always met at the door with my child. Bathroom areas are less than favorable
Candi WilsonMay 22, 2025Ok i usually don’t do these type of things as i think people character usually speaks for themselves. Especially in a small town . But I can’t help but to jump to the defense of everyone at this daycare. My wife and I have only been in Heflin for less than 6 months and knowing NO ONE trying to find someone or some where to trust with your child is a scary feeling. We decided to go with kiddie castle as a close friend of ours knows one the owners personally. We couldn’t be happier. Michelle . Emily . Meagan and Chan go above and beyond for our son every single day. The communication is there . They keep us in the loop with our son’s progression. If he eats . If he doesn’t eat. Drinks … sleeps etc. if we ask for photos we get them and quite often we receive some without even asking . Which is good enough for me. My son is never dirty on pick up and he is always happy when we drop him off. I think the problem with some of these reviews is people only want to abide by rules if they agree with them . Unfortunately or shall I say fortunately for our kids safety they have to have rules in place to protect the other children inside the daycare. So with that being said, I have family that I wouldn’t trust him with as much as I do this group at kiddie castle. Thank you all so much for the love and attention that you give our little man… it doesn’t go unnoticed!! ❤️
Tiffany YatesJul 11, 2024There is a reason the rating is as low as it is for this place and two of the staff had to give themselves 5 star reviews. My son has been going here for the better part of 2 years and although there have been ups and downs my son seemed happy here and you could tell how much he loved his teacher Emily but what happened today was completely wrong. Besides one of the owners Megan always seeming to have an attitude the owner Michelle has always been very kind until today. My daughter who is school age got strep throat the first week of April. We took my son to get tested on the 3rd and he was negitive. My children's father and I immediately separated them for 3 days to give the antibiotics time to work. My son did not have a fever or sore throat and my childs pediatrician told us that there was no reason to bring him back in to get tested unless he started showing symptoms. Well thursday of last week (well into the week) I started not feeling so well so I went and got checked. I had ended up with strep throat but my son still had no symptoms and I immediately started antibiotics. I was cleared to go back to work Monday of this week and again my son was complatly fine so he continued to go to daycare. My son needed diapers today so I had my mother in law run some up there and she had aperently mentioned that we had strep (not my son though) and then I get a nasty phone call from Michelle telling me how wrong I had been to send my son to daycare knowing he COULD have been infected. Again my son had been tested. The daycare recived a doctors note clearing him to go back the fallowing day. He was separated from his sister immediately and he had not shown any syptoms besides a runny nose that his pediatrician had said was most likely allergies because strep, flu and covid where all negative. I tried to fully explain the situation and timeline and make her understand that I truly and honestly thought he was okay to be there for those 3 days and she just had a nasty attitude. I even apologized multiple times for the misjudgement on my end and she hung up on me. Next thing I know I get a text from her saying today is my son's last day there. No notice, no understanding, no time to figure out how I'm gonna be able to work for the rest of this week just got kicked out like it was nothing after my son had been attending for about 2 straight years and the cherry on top? They kicked my son out over a miscommunication immediately after getting paid for the week. At the beginning of the year they upped there prices, shortened there hours of being open and changed the policy to where you have to pay the full amount even if your child will not be attending the full week. It use to be you paid for the days your child attended but now if your child is sick and you know they will be out for the week or they have to close due to weather or something you still have to pay the full amount to keep there spot witch I personally think is ridiculous to expect payment for a service you are not even providing. I would like to say thank you to Ms.Emily though becuase she truly seems to love her job and love those kids and she has tought my son so much.
Victoria HaynesApr 16, 2024If you love your kids at all don't send them here. This place is dirty, is completely unorganized, the people are unprofessional. The teachers are absolutely rude and do not care about the kids. The only person here that has a heart for children is Emily. Keep your kids for from this place.
Breanna ReynoldsDec 23, 2022Great personalities and atmosphere. Staff is really helpful, and they care deeply for the kids.
Blake YoungJun 6, 2018Completely UNPROFESSIONAL AND NEGLIGENT, when the previous owners ran it, it was a wonderful place. After the new people took over, it went downhill instantly. One of the "caretakers" dislocated my 2 yr old son's left arm. No one knew what had happened to him, they did admit that he had seemed to have been hurt. I removed him, and if you're a caring parent, you do not want to use them. Incompetence, and negligence is all they can do.
