  • ABSOLUTELY, HANDS DOWN, WITHOUT A DOUBT, THE BEST SCHOOL YOU CAN SEND YOUR KIDS TO!!! My wife and I comment often about the best thing we have ever done for our kids, is send them to this school. The teachers, content, virtues, discipline, administrators, facility, and overall performance of the school is 2nd to none. I ALWAYS recommend any parents to highly consider coming to Great Hearts Roosevelt. It is the BEST school there is! Great Hearts in consistently receiving accolades and has been voted the #1 Charter School System in AZ repeatedly. Do this for you and your kids, you will NOT regret it!

  • Hands down one of the best schools around! My middle child- a 4th grader, with severe anxiety, attended the local public school when we first moved here from PA. It was a NIGHTMARE. She was accepted at Great Hearts and day one before class even started (and I hadn't yet informed the school of her needs), her teacher recognized she was having trouble with the excess noise (she's highly sensitive to noise) and immediately got her a pair of noise cancelling headphones to use. It was nice that my daughter was so SEEN! Additionally, my third grader, with severe inattentive ADHD was our biggest worry educationally. Great Hearts not only helped with her IEP but exceeded our expectations by MILES. If you have a special needs child, Great Hearts is strongly recommended. They do get a fair amount of homework, which isn't the greatest, but the education they receive is second to none. Hats off the Mrs. Robison in third grade. What a terrific teacher! She has been so helpful with figuring out what works for my daughter and what didn't and has even given advice on how we can help at home. She is VERY communicative and you can tell she really cares about her students. I wish all teachers were like Mrs. Robison!

  • My son was at our neighborhood school and cried every pick up and he hesitated at drop offs. As a parent it was hard to see. When we moved to GH several weeks into the school year, I can honestly say that it was the best move for my son. He is thriving! He has the most amazing and caring Kinder teachers. Shout out to Cruz and Rodriguez. I have watched him blossom every day and it makes my heart so happy to see him so happy. He wakes up wanting to go to school. No tears, no hesitation, just pure excitement to see what his day will bring. I have nothing but positive things to say and I am forever thankful this opportunity for him to attended this school. Highly recommend to anyone who wants to see their child succeed.

  • The Prep level is mismanaged. The headmaster and supporting staff are bullies towards parents. They have even threatened parents because they want to shut you up. Even when your kids are there! It’s a horrible school, and is leaving a bad reputation in its surrounding community to such kind parents. :(

  • This school has major issues. My daughter was so scared to go to class I couldn’t get her go, due to an ongoing bullying issue with her, her sister, and other classmates. Despite the team at this school seeing and hearing the fear in her voice (she couldn’t breath…she was in horror and terrified), they refused to switch her out of the class with a bully. Mind you, this school has kids in sections all day. You are with the same group all day. Instead of switching her out of class, they insisted for a month, that forcing her to go to class would help. After 9 days of my daughter in horror of sitting in class all day with this child, I encouraged her to go (per their request). Day one of returning, this bully would not leave my daughter alone and shoved her. The team there says it never happened. They claimed to review cameras and that this never happened. This happened to other parents, and they refuse to provide evidence for parents to see. Meanwhile I have been able to provide a steady stream of evidence to the school, and they claim it’s false. The PD has also shared this school has been made aware of this issue from a handful of parents. I’ve never heard my daughter cry in such fear before. Since they still refused to switch her out of the class, I brought her in so they can face her so they can say to her face (hyperventilating, crying and in terror) and say to her face that she is “lying”. They all said they were “busy” twice while I waited. Not one person in their large leadership team could come out. This school took 30 days of inaction and has accused my child and my family of lying. This experience has been beyond traumatic for our child and our family. I am very disappointed in Great Hearts with how this has been handled. The leadership has been rude and condescending during this whole experience. I am telling everyone I know to avoid Great Hearts. They do not stand by their mission and values. Avoid this school at all costs.

  • My daughter is in her second year at Great Hearts Prep. She has been challenged and stretched so much and is thriving. Teachers send out weekly newsletters so I know what is happening. There is also a weekly Prep newsletter with great information. The Facebook group keeps parents up to date with upcoming events. My daughter is involved in sports and has enjoyed it so much. The Parent Student Organization is amazing and is super supportive of the teachers and students. I can’t be at all events due to my work schedule, but I like the opportunities to help in other ways like donating food items to teacher appreciation and other school events. Yes, there’s homework and yes there are some hiccups in communication and driveline, but staff and admin are responsive and try to remedy as much as they can. We are happy to be at Great Hearts Roosevelt.
