Sonshine Preschool

Sonshine Preschool will always hold a special place in our hearts. When my son started there at age 3, I was incredibly nervous. Up until then, he had only been cared for by me or my mom, so leaving him in someone else’s care was a big step for our family. From the very beginning, the staff made us feel comfortable, supported, and welcomed. One of the things that makes Sonshine so special is the stability of the staff—many of them have been there for years, and it truly feels like a community. Their dedication, kindness, and genuine love for the children shine through every day. My son attended Sonshine from age 3 until he went off to kindergarten, and the foundation he received there was invaluable. He grew academically, socially, and emotionally, and he always felt safe, cared for, and encouraged. As a parent, there is no greater peace of mind than knowing your child is surrounded by people who truly care. We are so grateful for the years we spent at Sonshine Preschool and for the lasting impact they had on our son and our family. I highly recommend Sonshine to any parent looking for a nurturing, loving, and supportive preschool community.

My son at 3yo had the absolute pleasure of attending Sonshine until he was ready for Kinder, age 6. He is now 18 and just graduated from high school! To this day he says Sonshine was his FAVORITE school of all his educational experience. He was loved, cared for like it was his family. He had so much fun & was EDUCATED, even as a little one. He learned so much. Sonshine took care of him as his needs warranted. They did not put their expectations on him, but instead cared for him as he wanted, needed. As a single mom at the time, I suffered leaving him anywhere. But Sonshine held him thru his tears of me saying goodbye, nurtured new friendships, gave him fun experiences (playground & riding scooters was a favorite of his). They cared about cleanliness, kindness, responsibility, education, and a soulful experience. Holidays were magical. A ‘graduation’ that made me cry, and their absolutely fun ‘fair’ days. Sonshine Preschool was my saving grace & my now young adult son’s BEST first experience being outside the home. Thank you Sonshine!!!

My daughter has attended Sonshine Preschool for all four years, and our experience has been nothing short of amazing. From the very beginning, the staff has been consistent, supportive, and truly invested in every child. In all four years, we have never had a single issue — only positive interactions and genuine care. The fact that the staff has remained so steady over the years speaks volumes about the environment; it’s clearly a wonderful place not only for children, but also for the teachers who choose to stay. We’ve loved the family events throughout the school year, which helped us feel connected and involved. I’ve always felt supported — not just in my daughter’s learning, but in our personal life as well. Sonshine has been a safe, loving, and uplifting place for our family. One especially meaningful part of our journey is that the Butterflies teacher was also my kindergarten teacher when I was in the Vail School District. Knowing my daughter was learning from someone who helped shape my own early education made the experience even more special. She has absolutely helped prepare our daughter for kindergarten — but truly, every teacher at Sonshine has made a huge impact on her learning, social development, and confidence. We are so sad to be leaving as she moves on to kindergarten, but we are forever grateful for the memories, the growth, and the wonderful people we’ve met along the way. Sonshine Preschool will always hold a special place in our hearts.

Our Twins attended Sonshine Preschool for four years. At every level of classroom our children were given exceptional care, and education. When our children entered kindergarten, they were beyond prepared to meet the new routine and expectations. Now they are A students With a love of learning and reading. We attribute this to the incredible teachers that they had in their early years. Our twins even have fond memories of events that Sonshine had for them while they were attending. I have told everybody I can that this is the best preschool in all of Tucson!
