  • We recently had an experience with this daycare that ultimately wasn’t the right fit for our family, and I wanted to share our experience in case it helps other parents. Our child was enrolled for a short period of time and had a difficult time adjusting to the new environment. We understood that adjustment could take time, especially at this age, and we were hoping they would be given an adequate opportunity to settle in. Unfortunately, the provider ultimately decided that they were unable to continue providing care because our child was struggling with the environment and needed more one-on-one attention. I want to be fair and say that I don’t believe the provider was intentionally unkind, and she was always pleasant with us. However, I was disappointed with how quickly the situation came to an end. Knowing that she has been providing childcare for many years, I expected there to be a little more patience and understanding when it came to a young child adjusting to a new environment. I also think it would be helpful to clearly include an adjustment period or expectations around this in the daycare contract. If a child is having difficulty adjusting and there is a possibility that care may be discontinued because of it, I believe parents should know that upfront and understand how much time will generally be given for the child to adjust. That would allow families to make a more informed decision when choosing care and set realistic expectations for everyone involved. Or only accept a certain age group. I understand that not every child is going to be the right fit for every daycare, and I respect that a provider has to make the decision that works best for their daycare. At the same time, I feel that more time and patience could have made a difference, especially given how young our child is and how little time they had actually been there. Ultimately, we realized that our child needs a different type of care and more individualized attention. I don’t hold any personal animosity toward the provider, and I genuinely wish her and the families she cares for the best. I simply hope sharing our experience can help other parents ask questions about adjustment periods and expectations before choosing a daycare.

  • Veronica is absolutely amazing and she is the only one that I trust with my children. My first daughter Started to come here in 2018 until she went into kindergarten. My second daughter also came here until she went into preschool. I am now currently pregnant with my third daughter and she will be coming here as well. The daycare Is absolutely beautiful and is a very homey vibe this was practically my children’s second home!

  • Veronica Wheeler is an absolute gem. I truly don’t know what we would have done if we hadn’t found her those years ago. All three of my boys attended her in-home daycare, from the time they were 1 to 4 years of age, from 2015-2022. Wheeler’s Drop a Tot was our second home and will always be like family to us. My boys were always clean, happy to go, well fed and engaged with activities, lessons and outdoor play. Rules are similar to other daycare centers, and Veronica is easy to communicate with and very loving, always paying close attention to your child’s needs and schedule. I highly recommend her for a local to Arcadia—safe, intimate daycare option. During the pandemic she dropped off art supplies while we quarantined, she hosts family movie nights and more, and even does parents night out sometimes. Truly can’t say enough wonderful things about Veronica and her team. We love them.

  • My son started at drop a tot when he was 10 weeks old and went until he was 5 years old. He is now 8 and still asks to go there. It is not easy leaving a newborn with people that are not family, but over the years, Veronica has become family. She goes above and beyond providing a clean atmosphere, a loving environment and cooks delicious homemade food. I don’t know how I would have survived without Veronica and her family over the years!
