What California does not publish here

The state publishes when licensing staff visited, not what they found. We do not hold California’s inspection findings, so nothing on this page tells you whether a visit resulted in a citation. A visit count is a measure of licensing activity, and a facility visited more often is not for that reason a worse one. Read the findings in California’s own facility search.

  • I have been with A Place Of Our Own for 5 years now. I have had the opportunity to see them grow as a company and also they have had the opportunity to watch and help my children grow. Education is extremely important to me and finding a daycare that is also always fun and games, but educational is a HUGE plus. My daughters have all graduated from their preschool program which has helped them excel in school tremendously. I was skeptical at first putting my kids in daycare, because let's be honest, I am a mama bear! But the staff is amazing and they are always so involved with the kids. Field trips, fun activities, your kids will never be bored! The owner Felicia is one of the most genuine people I have ever met, she is so dedicated and involved in every way possible. APO is all about family as they're always putting on concerts, graduations for the kids, holiday parties and much more. I always try to let them know how thankful I am and they're just as thankful we have trusted them with littles. I highly recommend you check them out, I have referred a lot of my family and friends who also have great things to say about APO.

  • I gave my two weeks notice on Friday bc I felt like this schools operation and system is not very accommodating to my daughters need. However, the owner decided to inform me that my daughters last day was going to be that same day, on a phone call. So unexpected, and shady. Not only is that bad business on their end, but it is also bad customer service, unprofessional, inconsiderate, and straight up rude to terminate care for child with no warning over the phone, leaving a full-time parent or parents distressed, now needing to find a child care, without even giving a notice, which I was kind enough to even do it with them. Owner theth, which I called to discuss if that's even legal to do, which I've never seen in the past three months my daughters been, talked to me about it on the phone and after that phone call conversation, which resulted in an arguments match, I was extremely happy my daughter's not there anymore. Personality wise, very unsympathetic and just doesn't sound like she cares. Another thing, their staff coverage needs improvement; the director of the school Ms. Rosa, who is actually more professional than the owner, has to cover and fill in for the staff at all times everyday and leave the front unattended. Never been to a school who's had that ongoing issue before. Also, they combine the two year old class with the older children during nap or something like that, which the older children do not like, which I wouldn't like either bc of the age difference 😐 There are many more cons about this school, and as much as I would like to warn future parent's about more of my negative experience there in these last three months, it would be too long to write. Conclusion and advice for owner- hire new teachers, change your attitude and overall, get it together. This place is a mess.
