What California does not publish here

The state publishes when licensing staff visited, not what they found. We do not hold California’s inspection findings, so nothing on this page tells you whether a visit resulted in a citation. A visit count is a measure of licensing activity, and a facility visited more often is not for that reason a worse one. Read the findings in California’s own facility search.

  • Our son started at Small World at just five months old, and was there until his second birthday (we would have kept him there longer, as they offer childcare up to age 5, but ultimately it made logistical sense to move him to a daycare closer to our home). During our son's time at Small World, we found the staff - led by Haseena - to be warm, welcoming, kind and very accommodating. We needed part-time care and Haseena made that happen for us. All of the caretakers he had throughout his time there were loving and so sweet with him, and I always felt like he was in excellent hands. Leaving your little baby anywhere is difficult - but at Small World we always knew he'd be very well cared for. I absolutely recommend them for infant and toddler care, and beyond!

  • We have a 2 year old son at A Small World who started when he was 3 months. The whole team are wonderful and supportive and helped us immeasurably with some big challenges such as starting him on a bottle when my maternity leave ended, getting him on a great napping schedule and getting him off a pacifier. It is so hard handing over a 3 month old and going back to work but A Small World manage to keep the baby room calm and relaxed and I had complete confidence that my son was in a loving environment and learning how to interact with other babies and adults. I wouldn’t hesitate to send any future babies (!) to A Small World! Thank you all so much for your love and care

  • Our son has been a “student” at a small world for the last year and a half. He started up with them at 4 months old, and saying that we love the place would be an absolute understatement. As first time parents our search for a child care facility started about 5 months into our pregnancy. We were shocked to hear from our friends that it was time to start looking, but we humored our doubts nonetheless. I would imagine our needs are about the same as most: a safe environment where the teachers will care for our child as if he were their own. The amount of love that our son recieves at day care is phenomenal. He never cries when we say it’s time to go to school, and as soon as we drop him off, he runs towards the greeting committee of children and teachers with such excitement. He is constantly bringing home art projects which cover our refrigerator, and we have yet to see a theme repeated. The teachers promote a curriculum that allows the children to learn in an environment that is caring, safe, fun and creative. The teachers manage to instill a confidence in all of the children that I don’t think my wife and I could replicate. When we pick up our son we are always amazed to see the children playing as equals in the rooms. I would never have thought it possible, but somehow these teachers are able to get all of the children to interact equally and I have yet to arrive and see a child looking like they don’t fit in. We consider ourselves so fortunate to have found A Small World, and are looking forward to repeating this journey again when our second son starts up with them in a few months.

Questions parents ask about A SMALL WORLD INFANT & TODDLER CENTER

Is A SMALL WORLD INFANT & TODDLER CENTER a licensed child care provider in California?

Yes. A SMALL WORLD INFANT & TODDLER CENTER holds California licence 073405634, currently listed as "LICENSED" by the Department of Social Services, Community Care Licensing Division, first issued on April 4, 2007. Confirm current standing with the agency before enrolling.

What kind of child care licence does A SMALL WORLD INFANT & TODDLER CENTER hold?

California licenses A SMALL WORLD INFANT & TODDLER CENTER as a infant center, a category that covers children under two. The category comes from the state's own licence record, not from the provider.

How many children can A SMALL WORLD INFANT & TODDLER CENTER care for?

A SMALL WORLD INFANT & TODDLER CENTER is licensed for up to 51 children at one time. Licensed capacity is a ceiling set by the state, not a count of current enrolment or of available places.

How often has California inspected A SMALL WORLD INFANT & TODDLER CENTER?

California records 2 inspection visits to A SMALL WORLD INFANT & TODDLER CENTER, the most recent on April 22, 2024 and the earliest on record April 1, 2022. Has California visited A SMALL WORLD INFANT & TODDLER CENTER in response to a complaint?

California records no complaint-driven visits to A SMALL WORLD INFANT & TODDLER CENTER. That means no concern prompted a visit on the public record, which is not the same as a clean inspection history: the state does not publish what its visits found.

Who holds the licence for A SMALL WORLD INFANT & TODDLER CENTER?

The licence is held by A SMALL WORLD INFANT & TODDLER CENTER LLC. California lists the licensee separately from the facility name, so the two often differ. The facility is in Contra Costa County.
