What California does not publish here

The state publishes when licensing staff visited, not what they found. We do not hold California’s inspection findings, so nothing on this page tells you whether a visit resulted in a citation. A visit count is a measure of licensing activity, and a facility visited more often is not for that reason a worse one. Read the findings in California’s own facility search.

  • Bunker Hill has become our 2nd home! We love it here. The teachers are phenomenal and always keep you updated on your kid. The outside area is magical and has a terrific meadow. Fun community events, also. I can’t wait to have our son join Bunker Hill just like his big sister!

  • This preschool truly understands what young children need. The play-based curriculum lets kids lead their own learning with genuine joy and creativity. What sets it apart is the deep commitment to outdoor exploration and an appreciation for nature. Beyond the amazing teachers and learning environment, the community here is exceptional. Families are warm and welcoming, and there's a real sense of belonging. It feels like a village raising children together. If you want a preschool that honors childhood, values play, and builds both confident learners and a supportive community, this is it. Highly recommend! 🌱

  • Our family absolutely loves Bunker Hill! The teachers are caring and knowledgeable, the yard can't be beat, and we've made some of our best friends there. The play based programming allows our children to explore and push themselves in a safe environment. I also really appreciate being involved in my kids' early education and getting help and support from the teachers and other parents for my parenting journey. If you're in the market for a nursery school, I highly suggest signing up for a tour!

  • Bunker Hill is a one of a kind school. It is such a beautiful facility immersed in nature. And more importantly, my daughter is in love with her teachers and has developed such strong independence in such a short time. We cannot recommend this special school enough!

  • Bunker Hill has been nothing short of magical for us these past years and as we age out and move onto Kindergarten, I am confident that the foundation set here for both my kid and I will serve us long into the future—perhaps much like it has done for other families for over 60 years. Proximity and relation to nature (deer in our meadow in the morning, banana slugs on hikes in our 93 acre woods); the profound development that comes with opportunity for mixed-age play (3-Day/Pre-K or Bonus Bunker after school sessions); and the thoughtful, expansive invitations from highly capable teachers that fold their depth of knowledge and intrinsic care into joyful experiences for kids and parents alike. To be in a co-op at this stage of my kid’s life has been valuable in transitioning us both smoothly through our stages of attachment and dependence. It has been so helpful to spend one day a week understanding the nuances of my kid’s school experience, being connected as part of a true community ecosystem, and having over a dozen other grownups invested in the best for us all year long. I’ve joked that I’m going to have another kid just to come back to Bunker Hill…so stay tuned for another potential review on Baby Bunker in the next year or so 😄 Best wishes to all future families and the magical teachers and generous Board members of Bunker Hill…and thank you for keeping this pocket of promise alive and thriving.

  • We've absolutely adored our time at Bunker Hill. With phenomenal outdoor play, field trips, freedom for my child to learn how to be a good friend and be ready for Kindergarten. The teachers are kind, warm and has a great sense of community.
