What California does not publish here
The state publishes when licensing staff visited, not what they found. We do not hold California’s inspection findings, so nothing on this page tells you whether a visit resulted in a citation. A visit count is a measure of licensing activity, and a facility visited more often is not for that reason a worse one. Read the findings in California’s own facility search.

Hi everyone I am a mother of a child who attends Castles preschool and daycare. I am so happy with the service I am getting there. Castles is a diverse place for everyone to feel comfortable and welcomed. I had my older daughter who is a second grader gone there and She enjoyed it so much, and now I have my son who loves being there. As a native Arabic speaker, I am so glad to see my son’s teacher talking and teaching the class the Arabic numbers and country, which is another great ability I give her 2 thumbs up for it.
Lena AllbouaniFeb 1, 2025We Love Castles and all the staff. My 2 year son goes there and they have been amazing and my son has grown and learned so much in less than a year.
Melanie WrightOct 26, 2018They have wonderful staff members who are always going above and beyond for the children they care for! This daycare is perfect for kids to play with friends and learn new skills. Love you Castles!
Telu FullerSep 14, 2018We really like Castles. Our kids have always been well cared for. I would give 4 stars only because the food isn't as healthy as I would like and they don't send pictures to parents of their babies in the baby room and I really wanted that when I started my 3 month old.
Robin Carter-ErvinSep 13, 2018Castle has been great! My daughter has really enjoyed going there. The only thing that had been a very small challenge is them closing at 6p. That was only a small challenge during my works summer hours.
Jessica AndersonSep 13, 2018I love Castles! Both my boys go there, my 10yr old has been there since kindergarten and my 11 month old has been there for about 6 months now and will continue there for until he ages out in 6th grade.

Questions parents ask about CASTLES PRESCHOOL
Is CASTLES PRESCHOOL a licensed child care provider in California?
- Yes. CASTLES PRESCHOOL holds California licence 045405610, currently listed as "LICENSED" by the Department of Social Services, Community Care Licensing Division, first issued on March 16, 2009. Confirm current standing with the agency before enrolling.
What kind of child care licence does CASTLES PRESCHOOL hold?
- California licenses CASTLES PRESCHOOL as a day care center, a category that covers preschool-age children in a centre-based programme. The category comes from the state's own licence record, not from the provider.
How many children can CASTLES PRESCHOOL care for?
- CASTLES PRESCHOOL is licensed for up to 64 children at one time. Licensed capacity is a ceiling set by the state, not a count of current enrolment or of available places.
How often has California inspected CASTLES PRESCHOOL?
- California records 5 inspection visits to CASTLES PRESCHOOL, the most recent on July 1, 2026 and the earliest on record May 13, 2022. The state publishes the dates of these visits but not what they found, so this count reflects licensing activity, not results. Read the findings themselves in California's own facility search.
Has California visited CASTLES PRESCHOOL in response to a complaint?
- California records 11 complaint-driven visits to CASTLES PRESCHOOL. A complaint visit means someone raised a concern and the state went to look. California does not publish what those visits found, so the count on its own does not say whether any concern was upheld.
Who holds the licence for CASTLES PRESCHOOL?
- The licence is held by SMITH, NATHAN. California lists the licensee separately from the facility name, so the two often differ. The facility is in Butte County.
