What California does not publish here

The state publishes when licensing staff visited, not what they found. We do not hold California’s inspection findings, so nothing on this page tells you whether a visit resulted in a citation. A visit count is a measure of licensing activity, and a facility visited more often is not for that reason a worse one. Read the findings in California’s own facility search.

  • This school was a game changer for us. Our daughter has been attending this school for 2 years. Teachers Laurie and Sharon have been so wonderful to our daughter. She leaves for school every day genuinely excited for the day. She has learned so much in her time there and is absolutely ready to embark on her next journey in kindergarten. I cannot thank Laurie and Sharon enough for the genuine compassion and love they give the kids every day. If you are lucky enough to land a spot here, your child will be in great hands.

  • I love this school and so thankful we found it. I’m generally shocked by the one bad review by user, Kyle. Teacher Laurie is a loving and compassionate and well educated teacher. She draws a clear line for the kids of what is acceptable and unacceptable behavior and sets them up for success for their futures. All while teaching them reading, writing, math, art, and history! I strongly feel any negative review is based on a general dislike for discipline with young children. If you want your kids to receive an early childhood education as well as strong interpersonal skills, this is the place for it. Just go meet teacher Laurie and Sharon for yourselves, before believing a review by someone who seems hard to please. My son has been going there since he was 2.5 yrs old and will graduate at 5 this summer. He requires structure and consistency and that’s what we’ve gotten. My next two sons will start this summer as well. I love this school and if you visit, you will see why!

  • Teachers Laurie and Sharon are great. Our daughter got enrolled much to our delight and has looked forward to going to school even after rough days. The routine of dropping her off and picking her up and hearing about her fellow students is great. Participating in field trips with the teachers, class, and fellow parents has been great even though my daughter had a meltdown on our first one. Great people all around and such a blessing to have them in our community.

  • Teacher Laurie is amazing. Our daughter loves going to school every day and we have had nothing but positive interactions overall with both teacher Laurie and Sharon. We have made several friends through Central Coast (both our daughter and my wife with other parents) and feel confident leaving our child here every day. Our son will soon be enrolled with her next school year and know he’ll have a great time.

  • I feel that it is my duty as a parent to share my experience with you. My biggest regret as a dad thus far was sending my kid here. My child is now enrolled in TK and is excited to goto school everyday, he loves it. When my child was a student here he would dread it and cry everyday. As time passes more and more stories have surfaced about his hardships at this school. Haunting tales about being physically seized and verbally accosted by the teacher, and not being allowed to drink water. Months later he still tells us “I hated it at montessori.” If that’s not bad enough when we tried to part ways a month early, the teacher harassed us to pay for the month that we wouldn’t be in attendance, even though we had given proper notice. Maybe the teacher (not both teachers, Sharon is wonderful) assumed students aren’t verbal enough to report, or maybe my child was just bored by the same curriculum both years. Much of it can be left to debate or speculation. All I could do is share with you my story, but ultimately it’s up to you to decide. Good luck and god bless.

What kind of child care licence does CENTRAL COAST MONTESSORI hold?

How many children can CENTRAL COAST MONTESSORI care for?

CENTRAL COAST MONTESSORI is licensed for up to 24 children at one time. Licensed capacity is a ceiling set by the state, not a count of current enrolment or of available places.

How often has California inspected CENTRAL COAST MONTESSORI?

California records 4 inspection visits to CENTRAL COAST MONTESSORI, the most recent on July 22, 2026 and the earliest on record July 21, 2021. The state publishes the dates of these visits but not what they found, so this count reflects licensing activity, not results. Read the findings themselves in California's own facility search.

Has California visited CENTRAL COAST MONTESSORI in response to a complaint?

California records no complaint-driven visits to CENTRAL COAST MONTESSORI. That means no concern prompted a visit on the public record, which is not the same as a clean inspection history: the state does not publish what its visits found.

Who holds the licence for CENTRAL COAST MONTESSORI?

The licence is held by HOLCOMB, LAURIE A.. California lists the licensee separately from the facility name, so the two often differ. The facility is in San Luis Obispo County.
