  We absolutely love this school. It has been a wonderful experience for our daughter. She is always happy to go to school and truly loves her teachers. Before enrolling, we toured two other schools, and this one stood out as the best environment for our daughter. The facility is exceptionally clean, well-maintained, and thoughtfully cared for. The outdoor play area is also in great condition, unlike some of the other schools we visited. Our daughter started in the Caterpillar class and then moved on to Ladybug, and she’s thrived in both classrooms. If you’re looking for a Chinese immersion program, this is one of the best options in the area. The school also offers so many enriching, hands-on learning experiences. They have music teachers who come in every week, teach the children how to plant seeds, and even dedicate an entire week to cooking, where the children make foods like yogurt parfaits and mashed potatoes. Another thing we really appreciate is that every other Friday, each student gets to participate in Show and Tell. It’s been wonderful to see how this helps our daughter build confidence speaking in front of others from such a young age. The school also puts on class performances for special holidays where the children perform in front of all the parents. These opportunities have been great for developing her confidence and public speaking skills. Overall, it’s a fantastic school that goes above and beyond to create engaging, meaningful learning experiences. We couldn’t be happier with our decision.

  We initially chose Challenge School San Mateo because it could support both of our children at one location, with one in preschool and one in afterschool. It was not the simplest logistical choice since we needed additional help with transportation from our local elementary school, but the Mandarin immersion program, spacious playground, and convenient parking made it worth the extra effort. What I ultimately fell in love with, and what I will always be grateful for, are the teachers. Every teacher we encountered was wonderful, but I would especially like to recognize Teachers Frances, Hanan, and Evonne in preschool, along with Teachers Xiaoxiao, Hou, and Zoe in afterschool program. They helped our children go from knowing literally no Mandarin to understanding and communicating with their grandparents. They also supported their academic and emotional growth with genuine care, encouragement, and patience. The facilities and curriculum brought us to Challenge School, but the teachers are what made the experience truly special. We are incredibly grateful for the impact they have had on our children and our family.

  We have had an incredible journey at Challenge School over the past two years. My son, Ryan, started here as a shy and timid child, but seeing his transformation has been truly heartwarming. Here are a few reasons why we highly recommend this school: Amazing Growth: Ryan progressed through the Caterpillar and Ladybug classes, and the change has been night and day. Thanks to the teachers' holistic care and dedicated guidance, he has blossomed from a cautious little boy into a vibrant, outgoing, and confident child. We are so grateful for the teachers' hard work! Enriching Activities: The curriculum is so engaging. Each month has a unique theme, and the school celebrates a wide variety of holidays. Ryan loved the special visits from the fire truck and the dentist—these experiences brought so much excitement and curiosity to his learning. Professional Management: The school has very clear rules and structures. It’s evident that the teachers receive regular, high-quality training, which gives us as parents great peace of mind knowing he is in professional hands. Excellent Outdoor Space: The outdoor facilities are fantastic! The play area is spacious and features safety-conscious rubber flooring, which we love. Ryan gets plenty of active outdoor time every single day. Healthy & Delicious Meals: The option to subscribe to school lunches is a huge plus. The meals are provided by the local favorite, Blue Sky Cafe, and Ryan absolutely enjoys the food. We truly appreciate every teacher that Ryan meet, they're Teacher MeiMei, Ting Ting, Nicole, Shanshan, Hazel, Francis, Hanan, Vivian (music), Cathy, Michelle, Emily, Cathy, Anna, and so many more. We do recommend this school to the nearby parents, it's a school with love and joy!

  Our daughter attended the Ladybug class at Challenge School 益智中文, and we had a wonderful experience. At the beginning of the school year, she was very shy and sensitive, but over time she became much more open, confident, and started enjoying making friends. We truly believe this positive change would not have been possible without the guidance, patience, and care from all of her teachers. It has been such a happy and meaningful year for our family. We are very grateful for all the love and support the teachers gave to our daughter. We highly recommend this school to any family looking for a nurturing and supportive environment for their children.

  My daughter attended Challenge School for one year from 2 to 3 yrs old (from Caterpillar to Ladybug class). From the very first day, the teachers and staff have shown incredible love, patience, and dedication to the kids. My daughter looked forward to going to school every day, and we can see how happy she is and how much she has developed both academically and socially. The curriculum with the mandarin immersion and a variety of cultural celebrations are another highlight. We are incredibly grateful to all the teachers for making her such a positive and meaningful pre-school experience. We highly recommend Challenge school San Mateo Campus to any parent looking for a place where their child will be loved, supported, and inspired to learn. We have to say goodbye due to the relocation, but will always remember the warmth and love at Challenge. Thank you for making the preschool feel like a second home. :)
