What California does not publish here
The state publishes when licensing staff visited, not what they found. We do not hold California’s inspection findings, so nothing on this page tells you whether a visit resulted in a citation. A visit count is a measure of licensing activity, and a facility visited more often is not for that reason a worse one. Read the findings in California’s own facility search.

I am pretty happy with my daughter’s Pre-K experience at Challenger. The academics are very advanced, and my daughter often surprises me with what she has mastered in phonics and math. She can easily solve addition and subtraction problems, and she is now able to read simple books on her own. I know this must reflect the tremendous effort Miss Madhu and Miss Nupur put into teaching the children. At the same time, both teachers are very kind. They are gentle but firm, so the children understand their responsibilities while also feeling loved and supported. My daughter never once said she didn’t want to go to school throughout the entire Pre-K year, which says a lot. I also really loved the birthday celebration tradition, where each child gets special attention by answering questions from classmates and singing favorite songs. It made the children feel seen and celebrated.
Xiaoxue GongMay 29, 2026It has been almost a year since our son joined preschool here (class 104), and our experience has been absolutely wonderful. We have witnessed his phenomenal growth across the board—he is truly flourishing in his intellectual, physical, and social-emotional development. I want to give a massive shoutout to Ms. Azita, Ms. Susan, and all the supporting teachers. They have shown immense patience, care, and encouragement, making school a place he genuinely loves. Furthermore, the administration is highly responsive to any questions or feedback regarding his daily development, and we highly value the educational resources they offer to parents. Overall, I am happy with the education and supportive environment Challenger School provides.
Y. ZhangMay 20, 2026A big thank you to our children’s teachers, Miss Susan, Miss Azita, Miss Nupur and Miss Madhumita. We truly appreciate the care, patience, and support they have given throughout the school year. Challenger School has provided a strong academic environment while still maintaining a warm and supportive atmosphere. We’ve seen so much growth in our children, not only academically, but also in their confidence and happiness. What means the most to us is that our kids genuinely enjoy going to school every day. The teachers and staff are kind, attentive, and dedicated, and it gives us great peace of mind knowing our children are in such good hands. We are very grateful for this positive experience and would highly recommend Challenger School to other families.
Thierry LimMay 20, 2026We have had such a wonderful experience with Challenger School’s Preschool Program! Miss Rebekah and Miss Vanessa are caring, patient, and truly invested in the children’s growth and confidence. The classroom environment is engaging, structured, and full of opportunities for learning through creativity and exploration. We’ve been especially impressed by how much our son has grown academically, socially, and emotionally since attending. The Director, Miss Sharon, communicates well with families and creates a welcoming community that makes children excited to come to school each day. Other teachers that also make such a positive impact on our daily lives is Miss Namita, Miss Melissa, Miss Jyoti and Miss Azita. Miss Priya and Miss Jing also foster extra special care for our little one. We are so grateful for the positive impact Challenger has had on our son and highly recommend this preschool to any family looking for a nurturing and enriching early education experience!
Susan PinedaMay 19, 2026Our experience with Challenger Middlefield has been wonderful. Over the past three years, we have seen tremendous growth in our 6-year-old, both academically and socially. He has developed very effective communication skills and interacts confidently not only with children his age, but also with older kids. We have also seen his curiosity and passion for science grow significantly through the school’s engaging learning environment. One of the highlights for us was seeing him create his own storybook at the end of kindergarten, which was incredibly impressive and showed both creativity and confidence in his learning journey. The teachers are exceptionally kind, professional, and supportive. They do an excellent job balancing academics with emotional development and discipline, helping children grow into confident and respectful individuals. We truly appreciate the care and dedication of the staff and highly recommend Challenger Middlefield to other families.
Amir ShojaeiMay 18, 2026This is the first year of my son attending Challenger at the Middlefield campus and it’s been a wonderful experience for both him and our family. We were slightly worried as he was transitioning from preschool, but soon we found him flourishing both emotionally and academically under Ms. Jia and Ms. Claudia. We have been very happy with the curriculum, structure, and organization under the current school leadership. Furthermore, the teachers surprised us with a Spring Program where the kids performed a few songs and dance. It was great to see all the little ones participating and being cheered on by their parents. Not every child is the same, but we are very appreciative of what Challenger has provided for our child.

What kind of child care licence does CHALLENGER SCHOOL-MIDDLEFIELD hold?
- California licenses CHALLENGER SCHOOL-MIDDLEFIELD as a day care center, a category that covers preschool-age children in a centre-based programme. The category comes from the state's own licence record, not from the provider.
How many children can CHALLENGER SCHOOL-MIDDLEFIELD care for?
- CHALLENGER SCHOOL-MIDDLEFIELD is licensed for up to 198 children at one time. Licensed capacity is a ceiling set by the state, not a count of current enrolment or of available places.
How often has California inspected CHALLENGER SCHOOL-MIDDLEFIELD?
- California records 4 inspection visits to CHALLENGER SCHOOL-MIDDLEFIELD, the most recent on July 16, 2026 and the earliest on record August 16, 2021. Has California visited CHALLENGER SCHOOL-MIDDLEFIELD in response to a complaint?
- California records no complaint-driven visits to CHALLENGER SCHOOL-MIDDLEFIELD. That means no concern prompted a visit on the public record, which is not the same as a clean inspection history: the state does not publish what its visits found.
Who holds the licence for CHALLENGER SCHOOL-MIDDLEFIELD?
- The licence is held by CHALLENGER SCHOOL FOUNDATION. California lists the licensee separately from the facility name, so the two often differ. The facility is in Santa Clara County.
