What California does not publish here
The state publishes when licensing staff visited, not what they found. We do not hold California’s inspection findings, so nothing on this page tells you whether a visit resulted in a citation. A visit count is a measure of licensing activity, and a facility visited more often is not for that reason a worse one. Read the findings in California’s own facility search.

This place is a refuge for young people of all ages to receive the support and care they need to recover from trauma. The loving and caring staff on beautiful 6 acre campus, is the quiet place that traumatized children need to get the peace and support to cope with their experiences and move on to have a fulfilling and productive life.
Heidi SanbornOct 2, 2023The need to make sure these kids don’t “fall through the cracks” just because they don’t fit in to a standard box is huge. Children’s receiving home of Sacramento is doing the good work to help these kids with support, love, and special care when they need it most.
James LungiSep 28, 2023The Children's Receiving Home provides critical services to youth and families in crisis. The staff are qualified and make a huge impact in the lives of the youth in their care. The Children’s Receiving Home has been serving our community since 1944 and continues to strive for excellence in all services offered to youth and families affected by neglect, abuse, and behavioral health issues and trauma.
Jennifer JacobsenSep 28, 2023I was placed here in 95 and in 2003 after my mom passed. worse place ever for kids. Also they treat it like a prison this a prison for kids watch behind closed doors also they don't allow kids to be kids also they mentally abuse people here just a FYI 20 years of counseling cost 36k dollars plus just a perspective
Robert SugarsMay 19, 2023This place let's these kids run around late at night, they don't enforce curfews and don't hold these kids accountable for their actions. The teens are constantly at the convenience store I work and constantly stealing and asking customers to buy them tobacco and alcohol, and verbally abusing and even swinging belts/keys at my coworkers. Someone should investigate the safety of this home.
Suzanne Felcher (SpAzTiCaT)Jun 2, 2022This place was referred to me by my insurance company. I've been calling every day trying to get my son in their in patient treatment program. They kept sending me to voicemail boxes and those messages were never returned. My son ended up putting me in the emergency room. I even called them while he was escalating begging them for help. They hung up on me!
