What California does not publish here
The state publishes when licensing staff visited, not what they found. We do not hold California’s inspection findings, so nothing on this page tells you whether a visit resulted in a citation. A visit count is a measure of licensing activity, and a facility visited more often is not for that reason a worse one. Read the findings in California’s own facility search.

Our little one attended Country Montessori school for two years in Dragonflies. We loved this school so much. Susan and Jose were extremely welcoming from the very beginning. Setting up a tour and getting more information was a breeze. The facilities are clean, secure, and well thought out. Each classroom is explicitly arranged to encourage exploration and engagement. Ms. Corrales and all the teachers & staff truly care about each student. It always impressed me how they knew every kid’s name and family, no matter which classroom or age. Our daughter always felt welcomed, safe, and cared for. As a parent, I truly appreciated the clear and quick communication we received from the newsletters, emails, and updated calendar on the parent portal. All questions were answered quickly. No communication was ever ignored or unaddressed. I looked forward to getting monthly Dragonfly newsletters and seeing photos of all the wonderful things they did. One thing I especially loved was how families were encouraged to come share cultural holidays, celebrations, and food with the class. Our daughter developed leaps and bounds in Dragonflies. A huge shoutout to Ms. Estrada, Ms. Jacdedt, and Ms. Ochoa! She’s emerged more confident and capable. She problem-solves and approaches things from different perspectives. She’s incredibly compassionate. She loves learning and pursues her curiosity. We see the impact of this school every day. Thank you, Country Montessori!
Ken & Steph KimJul 4, 2026⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We’ve had our child in a Montessori school since she was 18 months old, so when we moved to Poway from the East Coast we were nervous about the transition. But I can honestly say, choosing CMS has been one of the best decisions we’ve ever made. The teachers are truly some of the best I’ve ever encountered—caring, knowledgeable, and deeply invested in each child’s growth. The administration is equally impressive: organized, communicative, and always on top of things. I never feel like I’m in the dark about what’s going on. And if you're new to the area, like we were, they have tons of opportunities to meet other families. (As an introvert, I struggled until I got to know some of the other parents - now we're all hanging out, doing playdates, and the whole deal!) When our daughter started at CMS at 2.5 yo she was a bit behind in speech. In less than 6 months at CMS, she was speaking in full sentences and now at 4 yo she's writing her full name and coming home every day with new skills and knowledge that blow us away. She’ll say things out of the blue and I’ll think, “Where did she learn that?” and the answer is always: CMS. We’re fortunate to live in Poway with amazing public schools, but CMS has been 10/10 for our family. My only complaint? They don't have a middle and high school (yet!) 🤣 'cause we would be there until 12th grade if they had it. The level of individualized attention and whole-child development here is unmatched. Thank you to the entire CMS community for creating such a nurturing, inspiring environment—we’re so grateful.
Brittanie CSep 14, 2025When we first explored Montessori education, I'll admit, I was a bit skeptical at first. That changed after attending one of the first New Family Meetings where former CMS students spoke to us. They were so confident—making eye contact with everyone in the room and sharing how the school shaped them. I remember thinking, this is the kind of environment I want for my daughter. From the start, the teachers and staff made our daughter feel at home, and even the older kids would greet her by name every morning. Over the years (8), CMS helped her grow into an independent, curious, and confident learner, and the sense of community has been something really special for our whole family.
Jason StephensAug 28, 2025My son was a student at CMS for 7 amazing years. I can’t say enough good things about this school. Every single person there from the principal to the secretary to the teachers seems so genuinely passionate about what they do and clearly care so deeply for the kids. It’s a small school so everyone there knows all the kids and all of their family members by name. It truly is a very special community. I’m sad that they don’t have a middle school because I would happily keep my son there for another 3 years if I could! We’ll miss everyone and are so grateful for the experience. Thank you CMS for taking such incredible care of my kiddo!
S SJul 23, 2025CMS has provided an amazing experience for our son, who attended from kindergarten all the way through fifth grade. The teachers are wonderful, kind and supportive. CMS does a great job of providing hands-on learning in a way that accelerates education and makes it fun, while instilling self direction, confidence, and accountability. Thank you, CMS for providing such a wonderful learning environment for our son!
Elizabeth WhelanJun 10, 2025Unmatched facilities, great teachers, and Jose (the director) are phenomenal. Our daughter loves CMS and we can't wait until our youngest is big enough to start going. Some of the other schools in the area are fine but once you see CMS it's clear that it is head and shoulders above the rest. Thank you to the entire team for being so great to our family.
