What California does not publish here
The state publishes when licensing staff visited, not what they found. We do not hold California’s inspection findings, so nothing on this page tells you whether a visit resulted in a citation. A visit count is a measure of licensing activity, and a facility visited more often is not for that reason a worse one. Read the findings in California’s own facility search.

Our son has been here since 5.5 months and we’ve had an extremely positive experience (so much so that when our lease is up we are only seriously considering areas that allow him to stay enrolled here). Communication is straightforward and easy. Teachers are warm and engaged. Bonnie, the director, somehow knows every student by name (and all their parents) and even during a clingy phase was always happy to go to her. Most importantly to us, we’ve always felt like he is safe and having his basic needs met. He naps better at daycare than we can get him to sleep at home. On top of that, we feel like his language and social skills have progressed tremendously. He often comes home knowing new songs and words (or skills - like eating better with a utensil, which candidly we are often too lazy to deal with at home!). We enthusiastically recommend this daycare to any of our friends and family.
Justine HJun 1, 2026We love Genius San Mateo and its Director, Bonnie! Both of my children attend Genius, and I have been consistently impressed by how caring Bonnie and the rest of the team are. Having moved several times over the years, my children have attended a variety of daycares. Out of all the facilities we have used, I have found that Genius has not only been the best value, but also the one that is really supportive of both parents and children. While I am sorry to hear that another parent has had a negative experience, I believe it may be a matter of fit, as their comments are in stark contrast to our own experience.
Christina HsuJan 25, 2026I am writing this review with a heavy heart and a strong sense of duty to warn other parents. Our family has had a profoundly negative experience at Genius Learning Center San Mateo, and I would strongly advise you to consider any alternative. Our concerns are not minor grievances; they are about fundamental dishonesty, a lack of basic care, and, most alarmingly, retaliation against our child when we voiced feedback. Dishonesty in Core Promises: From the moment you tour, the administration makes promises they do not keep. · Teacher-Child Ratio: What is advertised is not what is practiced. Classrooms are often understaffed, and their staff members are not communicative and friendly. My child’s teacher won’t respond us for a whole month for the daily needs and basic communication. · Meals and Nutrition: This was one of our biggest shocks. They promise balanced, nutritious meals and milk with snacks. The reality? Lunch is consistently a small, sad bowl of plain white rice or noodles, with barely a trace of meat, vegetables, or protein. We have never seen milk provided during snack time, and fruits are virtually nonexistent. For growing children, this is completely unacceptable. · Learning Environment: The classroom shelves are consistently barren and empty, lacking the stimulating, educational materials you would expect. Teaching activities seem minimal and unengaging. The Worst Part: Retaliation and Lack of Professionalism Our most serious complaint is the school's response to parental feedback. After we gently provided some constructive suggestions to the Director Bonnie, our son was blatantly targeted. · He began to be excluded from activities. · The teachers' attitude towards him changed noticeably. · During their Halloween event, they printed and displayed pictures of almost every child—except for ours. This deliberate exclusion is heartbreaking for a young child. · He came home with a diaper rash that persisted for two weeks and showed significant emotional distress, which we directly attribute to the change in his treatment at school. Furthermore, Director Bonnie demonstrated a shocking lack of professionalism and confidentiality. She shared private text communications with our family member with other parties, mischaracterizing a polite request to post more pictures of our child as a "threat." If a director cannot handle basic, polite communication without breaching trust and fabricating drama, they are utterly unfit to lead a preschool. Conclusion: Genius Learning Center is dishonest in its advertising, neglectful in its provision of basic nutrition and care, and operates in a retaliatory manner that punishes both children and parents for speaking up. The environment is not one of learning and growth, but one of stress and exclusion. Save your child and your family the distress—look elsewhere.
LinDec 9, 2025My son had very joyful time here in the past half a year. He was quite happy and be adapted to the environment with teachers and classmates. He also learned to organized his stuff after school. Highly recommended!
Rone ChiangDec 7, 2025This place has been great for our kid and very conveniently located. Teachers are dedicated. Price is reasonable and lower than market in my opinion.

Questions parents ask about ELITE PRESCHOOL
Is ELITE PRESCHOOL a licensed child care provider in California?
- Yes. ELITE PRESCHOOL holds California licence 414004883, currently listed as "LICENSED" by the Department of Social Services, Community Care Licensing Division, first issued on April 25, 2022. Confirm current standing with the agency before enrolling.
What kind of child care licence does ELITE PRESCHOOL hold?
- California licenses ELITE PRESCHOOL as a day care center, a category that covers preschool-age children in a centre-based programme. The category comes from the state's own licence record, not from the provider.
How many children can ELITE PRESCHOOL care for?
- ELITE PRESCHOOL is licensed for up to 102 children at one time. Licensed capacity is a ceiling set by the state, not a count of current enrolment or of available places.
How often has California inspected ELITE PRESCHOOL?
- California records 1 inspection visit to ELITE PRESCHOOL, the most recent on April 22, 2026. The state publishes the dates of these visits but not what they found, so this count reflects licensing activity, not results. Read the findings themselves in California's own facility search.
Has California visited ELITE PRESCHOOL in response to a complaint?
- California records 3 complaint-driven visits to ELITE PRESCHOOL. A complaint visit means someone raised a concern and the state went to look. California does not publish what those visits found, so the count on its own does not say whether any concern was upheld.
Who holds the licence for ELITE PRESCHOOL?
- The licence is held by ELITE INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL LLC. California lists the licensee separately from the facility name, so the two often differ. The facility is in San Mateo County.
