What California does not publish here
The state publishes when licensing staff visited, not what they found. We do not hold California’s inspection findings, so nothing on this page tells you whether a visit resulted in a citation. A visit count is a measure of licensing activity, and a facility visited more often is not for that reason a worse one. Read the findings in California’s own facility search.

I had to take my child out of there she went from wanting to go to not wanting to be dropped off which was a huge red flag for my social butterfly who usually takes every opportunity to play… but the last time she went a son of one of the staff came out of the day care grabbing his crotch and waving it in my daughter’s direction she was a mere 1 year old at the time he looked to be about 3 years old. I asked why he was out of his class and if he had access to the other rooms through the day and was waved off and staff took her from me… I reluctantly let her go trying to give them the benefit of the doubt but to this day I’m still greatly disturbed about what may have been happening to my baby at the hands of that little monster… I called it a half day at work so I could go get her early after all that and when I came to pick her up they were outside in about 65-70 degree weather she was without any of the three jackets I had sent with her ( a light, medium, and heavy jacket). I had even been messaging the staff to make sure she wore a jacket outside and was assured she would wear it… Anyways she was crying hysterically and the staff were ignoring though they were sitting right next to her. A few seconds later I watched one of them get up and walk right past her without even looking at her …. That was it for me she didn’t go back after that but I still had to pay for two weeks after that smh… she also frequently came home with scratches and no incident repor leaving me to wonder what else wasn’t reported… she also ended up very sick to the point of being in the hospital during her 3 weeks there. I hope her not wearing her jacket in that moderately cold weather or the condition of the place didn’t have anything to do with it but I never got to see inside the facility so who knows if it was clean or not. I cannot recommend anyone endanger their baby there. If you do brave it make sure you speak a decent amount of Spanish. I spoke with her teacher almost exclusively in Spanish because her English wasn’t very good which I didn’t consider the end of the world, just a heads up though. Also I suspect they have no complaints because the licensing name is a little different then on their paper work at least it was for me so here you go the Facility number is: 343610864 I recommend for any day care that you get their facility number and check their licensing and inspections on the department of social services website and read every recent inspection/look for violations ect…
Daysha ArnoldApr 19, 2026Although Danielle & Trina weren’t so bad. I would never put my child in Family Matters Center due to a number of serious concerns regarding the quality of care he received during his time there. First and foremost, I was extremely disappointed with how bathroom accidents were handled. My son, who was in the process of potty training, often came home in clothing soaked with urine, indicating he had been left in soiled garments for an extended period. Despite making significant progress at home, he continued to have frequent accidents at the center — which leads me to believe that he was not being given regular or timely bathroom breaks. Additionally, his personal items were not properly tracked. He regularly returned home in different clothing, often missing socks or other items, and I never received the majority of his clothes back. The center’s strict policy of not allowing children to be dropped off after 9:00 AM, even when breakfast had already been provided at home, was also concerning. The inflexibility of this rule seemed more about convenience for staff than the well-being of the children. Most troubling, however, was the lack of consistency and professionalism among the staff. There appeared to be constant turnover, with many employees seeming untrained or, frankly, unfit to care for children. The environment lacked structure and oversight, and at times felt chaotic and unsafe. After experiencing multiple childcare settings, I can confidently say this was by far the most disorganized and concerning. I would not recommend Family Matters Center to other parents, and I will never place my son in an environment like that again.
Keshawn StewartJul 14, 2025Truly the best daycare I have had my 2 son's in. The staff here is incredible and loving. They are so friendly. Ms. Danielle is just so kind and understanding. Ms. Niecia is just the best with taking great care of my boys. My 2 y.o is always so excited to see her! Best place to have your kids attend, my sons are learning English and Spanish while there. And loving all the updates I get throughout the day of them.
Amarjeet SianOct 29, 2024I have two kiddos that are enroll into family matters child care. And I have zero complaints they treat both of my kids with care my sons teacher Ms.Necia have been with him since 2 months old and treated my son like her own which as a parent make you feel so comfortable. My daughter is treated with care and grace as well by Ms.Danielle they always let me know what's going on with my kids. And communication makes a parent feel comfortable.
Darian GarnettOct 23, 2024Our family has been sending our child to the infant class at Family Matters Child Care Center for the last four months and have had a great experience. The teachers and staff really care about our child, which was the most important consideration for us when choosing a daycare center for our first child. The communication between us and the staff has also been excellent. Everything (feeding/sleeping updates, communication, billing, check in/out) is done on Brightwheel, an app that is easy to use. We highly recommend the Family Matters Child Care Center for anyone looking for high quality and affordable daycare services in Sacramento.
Robert BorrelleOct 19, 2024My preschooler has been going here since she was an infant. She comes home with the cutest art projects weekly and it feels really good to be able to drop my daughter off and trust that she’s in good hands. The teachers are attentive and incredibly nurturing. We love Family Matters!

Is FAMILY MATTERS CHILD CARE CENTER a licensed child care provider in California?
- Yes. FAMILY MATTERS CHILD CARE CENTER holds California licence 343610866, currently listed as "LICENSED" by the Department of Social Services, Community Care Licensing Division, first issued on June 28, 2005. Confirm current standing with the agency before enrolling.
What kind of child care licence does FAMILY MATTERS CHILD CARE CENTER hold?
- California licenses FAMILY MATTERS CHILD CARE CENTER as a infant center, a category that covers children under two. The category comes from the state's own licence record, not from the provider.
How many children can FAMILY MATTERS CHILD CARE CENTER care for?
- FAMILY MATTERS CHILD CARE CENTER is licensed for up to 16 children at one time. Licensed capacity is a ceiling set by the state, not a count of current enrolment or of available places.
How often has California inspected FAMILY MATTERS CHILD CARE CENTER?
- California records 2 inspection visits to FAMILY MATTERS CHILD CARE CENTER, the most recent on March 4, 2025 and the earliest on record August 2, 2023. The state publishes the dates of these visits but not what they found, so this count reflects licensing activity, not results. Read the findings themselves in California's own facility search.
Has California visited FAMILY MATTERS CHILD CARE CENTER in response to a complaint?
- California records 1 complaint-driven visit to FAMILY MATTERS CHILD CARE CENTER. A complaint visit means someone raised a concern and the state went to look. California does not publish what those visits found, so the count on its own does not say whether any concern was upheld.
Who holds the licence for FAMILY MATTERS CHILD CARE CENTER?
- The licence is held by NELSON, GINA. California lists the licensee separately from the facility name, so the two often differ. The facility is in Sacramento County.
