Licensing visits on record
California records 0 routine inspection visits and no visits prompted by a complaint to FIRST FRIENDS MONTESSORI.
What California does not publish here
The state publishes when licensing staff visited, not what they found. We do not hold California’s inspection findings, so nothing on this page tells you whether a visit resulted in a citation. A visit count is a measure of licensing activity, and a facility visited more often is not for that reason a worse one. Read the findings in California’s own facility search.

We loved this school, especially Mrs Maggie. My daughter always came home with the coolest art, and even Gemstone mala bead jewelry bracelets. They have a great outdoor play area, with bikes, ect. The children were all so sweet and well behaved when I would drop off and pick up her up. Definitely recommended this cute Montessori School, we miss going there.
Marlane LoveJul 25, 2026We have loved our daughter going to this school. She has learned and grown so much in her time here. They learn such fun things and have such great experiences that I feel she would not have been exposed to for a long time otherwise. She has learned many new skills and the school really focuses on helping kids become more independent, have routines and responsibilities. The teachers are so kind and caring and really get to know your child. They help the shy kids (like mine) with social skills and making friends. The teachers helped my child work through some challenging fears about using the potty at school and did not give up on her when I felt that other schools would have. The owner Maggie always has great ideas to help with parenting at home which I love.
Natalie SalernoJan 14, 2025This place is awesome. So friendly and interactive with the kids. We had our youngest go through here and we were super happy. Do not hesitate.
Tyrone MillerApr 27, 2024First friends Montessori came highly recommended by our neighbor who had their daughter enrolled. Now our daughter has been going to First Friends for two years and she absolutely loves it, just thriving. Ms. Araceli teaches the younger class and our daughter adores her! She helped complete her potty training which most preschool/Montessori programs just won't do. Ms. Araceli teaches some Spanish which my husband and I really love. Her speech was greatly improved after enrollment. The building is a bit older but I have seen constant improvements inside and out in our time there. Mrs. Maggie owns the school and teaches the older children, our daughter will be going to her class next year. It's clear early childhood development is her passion. We love the big yard full of activities for endless play, chickens and a garden! Even I have made friends at First Friends!
Ashley DalmasoMay 18, 2023There are not enough words to express my gratitude to the Teachers of First Friends Montessori. The best decision I made for my daughter was enrolling my daughter in First Friends. During my first interview of the school I was greeted by Maggie ( The Owner) she showed us around and even let my daughter stay for snack time and play for a while. Immediately I noticed the confidence in every child at First Friends. I appreciate the way Ms.Maggie and Ms. Araceli allow the children to be themselves with their individual personalities but help mold them through Montessori curriculum. I’m grateful for their aid in giving me the tools to help my daughter grow and succeed as she was not given that opportunity at her previous school. My only complaint is that I won’t be able to keep my daughter here through her entire school career. If you are looking for a warm and friendly environment to help your child grow this is the school for you. While your child follows the Montessori Curriculum they will Also gain outdoor knowledge through gardening and plenty of outdoor play, participate in family days at school, have endless activities, sing songs, be introduced to Spanish words and phrases, counting, ABCs, make homemade treats, have the cutest farmers markets with treats your children make and veggies that they grow, they will gain confidence while learning how to do their Montessori jobs including learning independence through everyday life tasks. Don’t wait on giving your child the opportunity to grow in the most loving environment you will be grateful you chose First Friends Montessori.
ALEXA JonesMay 18, 2023Great teachers and school. I'm happy we decided to send both of our children here.

Questions parents ask about FIRST FRIENDS MONTESSORI
Is FIRST FRIENDS MONTESSORI a licensed child care provider in California?
- Yes. FIRST FRIENDS MONTESSORI holds California licence 093617663, currently listed as "CLOSED" by the Department of Social Services, Community Care Licensing Division, first issued on September 9, 2013. Confirm current standing with the agency before enrolling.
What kind of child care licence does FIRST FRIENDS MONTESSORI hold?
- California licenses FIRST FRIENDS MONTESSORI as a infant center, a category that covers children under two. The category comes from the state's own licence record, not from the provider.
How many children can FIRST FRIENDS MONTESSORI care for?
- FIRST FRIENDS MONTESSORI is licensed for up to 8 children at one time. Licensed capacity is a ceiling set by the state, not a count of current enrolment or of available places.
Has California visited FIRST FRIENDS MONTESSORI in response to a complaint?
- California records no complaint-driven visits to FIRST FRIENDS MONTESSORI. That means no concern prompted a visit on the public record, which is not the same as a clean inspection history: the state does not publish what its visits found.
Who holds the licence for FIRST FRIENDS MONTESSORI?
- The licence is held by WILLIAMS, MAGGIE. California lists the licensee separately from the facility name, so the two often differ. The facility is in El Dorado County.
