What California does not publish here

The state publishes when licensing staff visited, not what they found. We do not hold California’s inspection findings, so nothing on this page tells you whether a visit resulted in a citation. A visit count is a measure of licensing activity, and a facility visited more often is not for that reason a worse one. Read the findings in California’s own facility search.

  • My child has attended FUMP for two years. Both years were fantastic experiences filled with learning; academically and socially. The teachers have been phenomenal; they support the thoughtful development of our children. I have been working on gratitude and appreciation with my child at home and her teacher uses the saying, “You get what you get, and you don’t throw a fit.” In my child’s final year, she worked on letter sounds at school and coupled with reading at home, she is able to sound out basic words before entering kindergarten. I know my child is safe, loved, and supported at FUMP. I cannot recommend this preschool enough.

  • We have been so happy with FUMP! The staff is all so friendly and kind. The office staff are very responsive and attentive. Our daughter loves coming to school every day and we know she is safe and well cared for at FUMP.

  • I've sent my daughter to FUMP since she became preschool aged and I'm very happy with her experience. She has had wonderful hands on teachers that have always been great in communicating their lessons, upcoming themes and activities, as well as her development along the way. We will be sending our son as soon as he's old enough. Couldn't recommend a better place for my little's most formative years.

  • We have loved having our son at FUMP preschool. We have had lots of friends and people in the community that recommend this preschool, as we know why. The teachers are loving and my little one has learned so much being here. It is a warm, friendly environment and we happily recommend this preschool to others often.

  • We have one enrolled student and one alumni thriving in elementary school. FUMP is a wonderful choice for your child's care. The staff is warm, loving and competent. The classrooms are clean, safe and filled with fun activities and toys. The campus is beautiful and well maintained. The school's annual and weekly schedule are accommodating. The school is committed to providing coverage for parents, the early drop off, late pick up and limited holidays are very generous. Admin and teachers are responsive and understanding, they step up to help with your child's growth and development, especially with potty training and naps. FUMP understands providing the community with childcare is an act of service.

  • Our second child is now in her third year at FUMP. I know she will be well-prepared when she starts kindergarten, just as her brother was before her. She made the age cut off for TK, but we love FUMP so much that we decided to keep her here for one more year! The staff and teachers are stellar and are dedicated in helping the children (and us parents) feel comfortable and safe while also teaching social and emotional skills, fine/gross motor and preparing them academically for kindergarten. The preschool director and FUMCCV lead pastor have been good with communication and I always feel comfortable talking with them if something comes up. Outside of class there have been a number of events where we have gotten to know other families at the preschool, which is nice since not everyone drops off/picks up at the same time.

Questions parents ask about FIRST UNITED METHODIST PRESCHOOL

Is FIRST UNITED METHODIST PRESCHOOL a licensed child care provider in California?

Yes. FIRST UNITED METHODIST PRESCHOOL holds California licence 376600117, currently listed as "LICENSED" by the Department of Social Services, Community Care Licensing Division, first issued on February 21, 1995. Confirm current standing with the agency before enrolling.

What kind of child care licence does FIRST UNITED METHODIST PRESCHOOL hold?

California licenses FIRST UNITED METHODIST PRESCHOOL as a day care center, a category that covers preschool-age children in a centre-based programme. The category comes from the state's own licence record, not from the provider.

How many children can FIRST UNITED METHODIST PRESCHOOL care for?

FIRST UNITED METHODIST PRESCHOOL is licensed for up to 135 children at one time. Licensed capacity is a ceiling set by the state, not a count of current enrolment or of available places.

How often has California inspected FIRST UNITED METHODIST PRESCHOOL?

California records 2 inspection visits to FIRST UNITED METHODIST PRESCHOOL, the most recent on December 9, 2025 and the earliest on record April 13, 2023. The state publishes the dates of these visits but not what they found, so this count reflects licensing activity, not results. Read the findings themselves in California's own facility search.

Has California visited FIRST UNITED METHODIST PRESCHOOL in response to a complaint?

California records 1 complaint-driven visit to FIRST UNITED METHODIST PRESCHOOL. A complaint visit means someone raised a concern and the state went to look. California does not publish what those visits found, so the count on its own does not say whether any concern was upheld.

Who holds the licence for FIRST UNITED METHODIST PRESCHOOL?

The licence is held by FIRST UNITED METHODIST CHURCH OF CHULA VISTA. California lists the licensee separately from the facility name, so the two often differ. The facility is in San Diego County.
