What California does not publish here
The state publishes when licensing staff visited, not what they found. We do not hold California’s inspection findings, so nothing on this page tells you whether a visit resulted in a citation. A visit count is a measure of licensing activity, and a facility visited more often is not for that reason a worse one. Read the findings in California’s own facility search.

I went to preschool here.
Daniel RothmanJun 4, 2026My daughter is now in her second year at Glenridge, and she’ll also be doing her third (TK) year here. Knowing she has many school years ahead, I wanted to give her one more year free from rigid schedules and structure. When I was searching for preschools last year, I worried about whether she would be okay without me—whether her needs would be met, and whether her voice would be heard. I was concerned that, as the youngest in a mixed-age group, she might be pushed around or overlooked. I wanted play to stay at the center of her days, with her choosing where her interests took her. Glenridge eased all of my concerns. They have an incredible focus on guiding children through social interactions. Even though she was the youngest, and her voice was soft at times, the parents in the classroom are trained to observe, narrate conflicts, and help them resolve issues on their own. And when words fail, we give them the language they need. Glenridge isn’t just a place where kids are cared for—it’s a place where they truly develop and thrive.
Susan TranApr 9, 2026Not only does Glenridge have the most amazing setting of any school in San Francisco, nestled in the middle of Glen canyon park along side a creek surrounded by so many trees you forget you're in the city, but Glenridge is so much more than a school, more than community. It's family. I knew I wanted a co-op preschool so that I could share these magical years with my son while he still wants to play with me. I didn't know how much meeting all these families would change our lives as parents. We've made so many new friends and gone on so many adventures together outside of school with other parents. For the first time in my life as a new parent, I have a peer group that shares all the same struggles and joys. If all that wasn't enough, our administrator and head teacher, Mame, is incredible. I taught highschool for 6 years, so I was very critical of the administrators I met as I toured preschools for my son. Mame impressed me from the start and continues to impress me with her approach to early childhood development. She's not only a great teacher, but makes great teachers out of all the parents in the classroom. I'm a better parent because of Mame and Francis is blooming under her care. I've met former Glenridge parents whose children are now in college who still remember their time there. Now I know why it left such a lasting impression. There's no place like it.
Andrew CasteelFeb 10, 2020It is truly beautiful here. It is a tranquil place where you can easily enjoy the different plants, flowers, and foliage. It is a good place to take pics if you like photography and a good place to enjoy a nice walk and you can easily recover and gain a peace of mind. I love to meditate in the quiet no to busy environment and you should visit ots a site to see! 😌☺😉🐦🐤🐞🐜🐝🐛🐇🐾🍀🌹🌷🌻🌵🌿🍁🌿🍂🌾🍄🌲🌼🌳⛅☀🌈📷📹💝🎍🎐🔕🔇🔎📦🔭🍇🍋🍊🍏🍎🍓🍅🌽🍆🍠🍍🍉🍒🏯🌄🗻🌅🌉🚗🚘🚙🚍🚧🇺🇸

yangjz00 YANGJun 27, 2016Glenridge Cooperative Nursery School is a very special place for young children to attend preschool. Tucked into Glen Canyon, the act of hiking to school brings wonder and joy to kids and their families. My son and daughter have both had fun attending this school, and I have learned so much as a parent working in the classroom and at the parent education meetings. We have made a wonderful network of friends and people we can rely on!

Questions parents ask about GLENRIDGE COOPERATIVE NURSERY SCHOOL
Is GLENRIDGE COOPERATIVE NURSERY SCHOOL a licensed child care provider in California?
- Yes. GLENRIDGE COOPERATIVE NURSERY SCHOOL holds California licence 380500240, currently listed as "LICENSED" by the Department of Social Services, Community Care Licensing Division, first issued on November 29, 1974. Confirm current standing with the agency before enrolling.
What kind of child care licence does GLENRIDGE COOPERATIVE NURSERY SCHOOL hold?
- California licenses GLENRIDGE COOPERATIVE NURSERY SCHOOL as a day care center, a category that covers preschool-age children in a centre-based programme. The category comes from the state's own licence record, not from the provider.
How many children can GLENRIDGE COOPERATIVE NURSERY SCHOOL care for?
- GLENRIDGE COOPERATIVE NURSERY SCHOOL is licensed for up to 25 children at one time. Licensed capacity is a ceiling set by the state, not a count of current enrolment or of available places.
How often has California inspected GLENRIDGE COOPERATIVE NURSERY SCHOOL?
- California records 3 inspection visits to GLENRIDGE COOPERATIVE NURSERY SCHOOL, the most recent on January 15, 2026 and the earliest on record January 19, 2022. The state publishes the dates of these visits but not what they found, so this count reflects licensing activity, not results. Read the findings themselves in California's own facility search.
Has California visited GLENRIDGE COOPERATIVE NURSERY SCHOOL in response to a complaint?
- California records 2 complaint-driven visits to GLENRIDGE COOPERATIVE NURSERY SCHOOL. A complaint visit means someone raised a concern and the state went to look. California does not publish what those visits found, so the count on its own does not say whether any concern was upheld.
Who holds the licence for GLENRIDGE COOPERATIVE NURSERY SCHOOL?
- The licence is held by GLENRIDGE COOPERATIVE NURSERY SCHOOL. California lists the licensee separately from the facility name, so the two often differ. The facility is in San Francisco County.
