What California does not publish here

The state publishes when licensing staff visited, not what they found. We do not hold California’s inspection findings, so nothing on this page tells you whether a visit resulted in a citation. A visit count is a measure of licensing activity, and a facility visited more often is not for that reason a worse one. Read the findings in California’s own facility search.

  • My daughter is graduating from Happy Day Montessori after 2.5 years. She has been extremely happy at the school, and we highly recommend it! Fahi and the other teachers genuinely care about the children and enjoy seeing them learn and grow. They also help build a community with the parents by organizing multiple family events throughout the year. My daughter enjoys the weekly music classes, weekly gardening classes with one of the grandparent volunteers, art projects, and frequent visits to local parks. She has learned letters and basic math while also having plenty of time to play with her friends. They learn about many cultures and holidays, and they celebrate each child's birthday with the "Walk Around the Sun" Montessori birthday ceremony (which parents can attend). As a bonus, the facility is extremely well kept, clean, and organized. It has been a wonderful experience to see my daughter's growth through her years at the school. If you are looking for a high-quality preschool in Albany, definitely put Happy Day on your list!

  • Fahi and the team of teachers at Happy Day are lovely. We have been enrolled at Happy Day for approximately a year and our daughter has had a wonderful experience learning from the teachers alongside her classmates. We've really enjoyed becoming part of the community of parents, and our daughter has made many new friends.

  • My son started going to Happy Day when he was about 2.5 and he's been there now for over a year. We've had a lot of transitions at home but our son has had such a good experience at Happy Day that we are making every effort to keep him enrolled for as long as we can. The teachers at Happy Day are extremely kind and caring, and we deeply appreciate how supportive and flexible they have been in accommodating our family's needs. We love the Montessori structure, and Happy Day has an atmospheric of patience and calm, tucked in a lovely corner of Albany where the kids are able to spend a lot of time outside. We've been so happy with our experience here and we absolutely recommend!!

  • We are so grateful for the two years my son spent here. The teachers are dedicated and truly care about each child's development. Over the two years, my son gained so much confidence and social skills. Every morning, he was excited to go to school, which speaks volumes about the atmosphere. We are truly grateful for the love and support the teachers provided. Thank you for everything!

  • Our daughter attended Happy Day Montessori starting August 2022, and just graduated after three years at this excellent preschool in the heart of Albany. We're delighted to have seen our daughter grow into the kind, self-assured, and sociable 5-year old she is now, with warmth and loving guidance from Fahi, Anahita, and the school's many supportive teachers and staff. Our daughter has thrived in developing alongside her fellow Honeybees and Bumblebees: she has learned many interpersonal skills, developed her gross and fine motor abilities through arts projects and Montessori self-guided play, enjoyed weekly participatory music sessions, had fun cultivating and eating from the garden, and much more. We're sad to say goodbye, as our daughter begins kindergarten, but are grateful for the many good memories, and friends for our daughter, that remain from her time at Happy Day Montessori Preschool.

  • Our son started going happy day 1 year ago and he loves it ever since. He didn’t speak any English when he joins but that didn’t prevent him from making friends and building great relationships with the teachers. He loves teacher Fahi especially for her kindness and care. I was worried that after the summer vacation is over he will have a hard time re-adjusting the school but he was thrilled to go back and had no issues at all! I really appreciate their flexibility and support to our special needs. If you are looking for a school filled with love and laughter this is definitely going to be the one! My son sometimes even forgets to say goodbye in the morning when he rushes to the class!

Questions parents ask about HAPPY DAY MONTESSORI SCHOOL

Is HAPPY DAY MONTESSORI SCHOOL a licensed child care provider in California?

Yes. HAPPY DAY MONTESSORI SCHOOL holds California licence 013423107, currently listed as "CLOSED" by the Department of Social Services, Community Care Licensing Division, first issued on September 29, 2020. Confirm current standing with the agency before enrolling.

What kind of child care licence does HAPPY DAY MONTESSORI SCHOOL hold?

California licenses HAPPY DAY MONTESSORI SCHOOL as a day care center, a category that covers preschool-age children in a centre-based programme. The category comes from the state's own licence record, not from the provider.

How many children can HAPPY DAY MONTESSORI SCHOOL care for?

HAPPY DAY MONTESSORI SCHOOL is licensed for up to 22 children at one time. Licensed capacity is a ceiling set by the state, not a count of current enrolment or of available places.

How often has California inspected HAPPY DAY MONTESSORI SCHOOL?

California records 2 inspection visits to HAPPY DAY MONTESSORI SCHOOL, the most recent on January 31, 2024 and the earliest on record September 17, 2021. The state publishes the dates of these visits but not what they found, so this count reflects licensing activity, not results. Read the findings themselves in California's own facility search.

Has California visited HAPPY DAY MONTESSORI SCHOOL in response to a complaint?

California records 3 complaint-driven visits to HAPPY DAY MONTESSORI SCHOOL. A complaint visit means someone raised a concern and the state went to look. California does not publish what those visits found, so the count on its own does not say whether any concern was upheld.

Who holds the licence for HAPPY DAY MONTESSORI SCHOOL?

The licence is held by FATHIMA FAHIDHA BADURUDEEN. California lists the licensee separately from the facility name, so the two often differ. The facility is in Alameda County.
