What California does not publish here

The state publishes when licensing staff visited, not what they found. We do not hold California’s inspection findings, so nothing on this page tells you whether a visit resulted in a citation. A visit count is a measure of licensing activity, and a facility visited more often is not for that reason a worse one. Read the findings in California’s own facility search.

  • We are so grateful to everyone at Heart and Hands Preschool for the incredible support and care they have provided for both of our children. From the moment we enrolled, the entire team made us feel welcome and reassured, creating a warm and nurturing environment that has helped our kids grow in so many ways. Our son started out very shy and struggled with talking to others. Ms. Priscilla, his first teacher, was wonderful in helping him with the transition. She worked with him patiently, encouraging him to use his words to express himself, and her support made such a difference in building his confidence. When we enrolled our daughter, she was paired with Ms. Marcella, who has been equally amazing. Ms. Marcella has helped her tremendously, especially with potty training, showing endless patience and understanding during this important stage. Currently, our son is with Ms. Margaret, who continues to be a fantastic support for him. She encourages him to use his words in all situations, and the weekly homework she sends home has been very helpful. It allows us to reinforce what he’s learned in class, and it’s made a big impact on his learning. A special thanks to Ms. Bobbie, the director. She has been a constant source of support, always available to help with any questions or concerns. Her dedication and leadership truly shine through in every aspect of the school. I highly recommend Heart and Hands Preschool to any parent looking for a caring, supportive first preschool experience for their child. The teachers and staff are simply amazing, and we’re so grateful to be part of this wonderful community.

  • We love HH preschool San Jose. My son has been attending this school since he was 2 years old, and we are so amazed at the new social, speech, and motor skills he picked up at school! He loves going to school, and we feel safe leaving him in the great care of the teachers at his school. They have great lesson plans and really engaging academic and arts lessons. My son comes home with art pieces all the time, and he is so proud of them. Thank you Ms Teresa and Ms Priscilla for taking great care of my son, and Ms Bobbie has been a great director managing the center, and we can't wait for more years ahead with HH Preschool.

  • So grateful for this school & amazing staff. I am a returning parent (my son who is now 12 attended from 2-5 years old) and as soon as my second son turned 2 I knew I’d be bringing him back! The director- Ms. Jackie was his teacher and when I heard she was now the director I was even more excited! I knew if she was managing the school with the same compassion, kindness, and patience as she was her classroom this was the place I wanted to have my kids go to! I love the events they do from Christmas in the park decorating, spirit weeks, performances, Mother’s Day celebration, Father’s Day, etc... all of the teachers greet you with a smile and you can tell they love their job & the kids :) I’m also happy to share that all of 2019 my son did not get sick! Clean space and they make sure to enforce healthy habits such as hand washing at drop off and pick off!

  • The teachers and administrators at Hearts and Hands have created a safe, caring, and loving environment for children. Our son started at Hearts and Hands two months ago and absolutely loves going to “school” every day. We looked at a few different locations before enrolling him in the two-year-old program, but after observing his positive experience at the school visit, it was obvious that Hearts and Hands was the best place for him. Because of Mrs. Cathryn’s loving nature, he was able to quickly bond with her. On our car rides home, he tells us about having fun with his friends and teachers, especially Mrs. Cathryn. We have also noticed him singing his ABCs and pointing out colors (which he did not do until starting here) and practicing good manners like “Thank you” and “Excuse me.” The Hearts and Hands teachers and administrators have done an outstanding job creating an inclusive environment where children are acknowledged by name at the beginning and closing of each day, and we are grateful for the care and guidance they have shown our son.

  • Such a great school! The teachers are great! After attending for a few months, my son comes home and says things like, “my pleasure.” Kids are happy and enjoy their friends. My favorite things they’ve learned from hearts and hands is the arrangement of bible and Christmas songs. I LOVE hearing the their little voices signing all the classics. For working parents, the hours are perfect for us, open as early as 7:30 and open until 6:30pm. Also, no additional fee or added costs to help potty train.

  • The teachers are very caring and knowledgeable at HH preschool - San Jose. My son learnt letters, numbers, time and science. In addition, he made good friends and learnt social norms. He likes the teachers Ms. Mayra and Ms. Bobbie. We also enjoyed a variety of celebrations that involved all the families. Overall, we are very happy with the school. Our kid is well-prepared for the kindergarden and has had an amazing experience here.

What kind of child care licence does HEARTS AND HANDS CHRISTIAN CHILDCARE AND PRESCHOOL hold?

California licenses HEARTS AND HANDS CHRISTIAN CHILDCARE AND PRESCHOOL as a day care center, a category that covers preschool-age children in a centre-based programme. The category comes from the state's own licence record, not from the provider.

How many children can HEARTS AND HANDS CHRISTIAN CHILDCARE AND PRESCHOOL care for?

HEARTS AND HANDS CHRISTIAN CHILDCARE AND PRESCHOOL is licensed for up to 63 children at one time. Licensed capacity is a ceiling set by the state, not a count of current enrolment or of available places.

How often has California inspected HEARTS AND HANDS CHRISTIAN CHILDCARE AND PRESCHOOL?

Who holds the licence for HEARTS AND HANDS CHRISTIAN CHILDCARE AND PRESCHOOL?

The licence is held by GREAT COMMISSION ASSOC. OF SOUTHERN BAPTIST CHURCH. California lists the licensee separately from the facility name, so the two often differ. The facility is in Santa Clara County.
