Our 4.5-year-old daughter started at Hillcrest Montessori School in March. At the time, we interviewed a few schools, deliberated for hours between my husband and myself, and made a final decision to join Hillcrest. And we couldn't be happier with our choice. Within a few short months, our daughter's math and writing skills significantly improved, together with her confidence. Before she attended, she didn't write and hated math questions. Now she can do additions such as 4 + 4 or 5 + 6. She can also write her name and other common words. She practices daily in school. We are very impressed and proud. On top of that, she has made several good friends in school. Hillcrest Montessori is a diverse community, and the parents we met are warm and welcoming. And, the art projects in school are thoughtful and fun. I loved the beautiful seashell necklace my daughter made (probably with a little help from the teachers) for Mother's day. My daughter loved caring for the grass she grew from an eggshell doll. Last but not least, the teachers Ms. Paiva and Ms. Nancy are loving and nurturing as well as firm, instilling good habits in our daughter. (We only briefly saw the other teachers but they seemed lovely as well.) This was actually the number one reason we chose the school -- the people.
Yang LuJun 26, 2021We love Hillcrest. Once we visited, we kept comparing all the other places to Hillcrest. No wild atmosphere; just kids and adults interacting with each other on very kind, human level. Learning is constant. Every activity is purposeful, including lunch. Ms. Paiva is a genius. You should see the Christmas program she puts together! Outstanding! Spanish, learning "jobs" I saw in 1st grade at public schools, ballet and tap (extra fee) during the school day, happy, responsive, aware children. Ms. Paiva, can you just add another grade each year so we can keep going there?

Jeffrey LinJan 5, 2018We absolutely love Hillcrest Montessori! Our daughter started last fall and she loves going to school each day. The teachers have all been patient and kind. They provide a great combination of educational activities and play. It has been a great experience for her and us.
