What California does not publish here
The state publishes when licensing staff visited, not what they found. We do not hold California’s inspection findings, so nothing on this page tells you whether a visit resulted in a citation. A visit count is a measure of licensing activity, and a facility visited more often is not for that reason a worse one. Read the findings in California’s own facility search.

When I toured the program, I recognized one of the newer leaders from a previous workplace. Without getting into confidential details and out of respect for everyone involved, I was genuinely surprised to see her in that big position to oversee the program. That observation led me to look further into the leadership structure, and I also learned that the Interim Executive Director came from a background outside of education. If the person leading the whole organization as an interim lacks the background or experience necessary for the role, there is a greater risk that key leadership positions may also be filled by individuals who are not the strongest fit for those responsibilities. Ultimately, leadership sets the direction for the entire organization, and I believe that has a significant impact on the quality of decisions made throughout the program. For me personally, leadership matters tremendously because it sets the vision, culture, and direction of an organization. While I found the teachers to be wonderful, the space is lovely which has a history from years and years ago. I came away with concerns about some of the leadership appointments and whether they were the strongest choices for those roles. Ultimately, that was one of the reasons I decided not to enroll my children there. Others may have a different experience, but I would encourage families to look closely at the leadership team, ask thoughtful questions, and make sure they feel confident in the people guiding the organization.
BeckyJun 1, 2026Amazing preschool. Great facilities and great teachers. They have an awesome education system, and children are very happy here. We feel very lucky, as my son has been at HFDH for 3 years.
Marcos SalasApr 10, 2026I went to tour the school, the school is really nice, classrooms spacious and the yard is great. My child is very attached to me and didnt want to be there for the tour. The director Setareh was very business like my child was "$" in her eyes, seemed that way to me and saw how attracted he was and decided my child would be better off in another pre school, because he wouldnt be an easy toddler to drop off so just doesnt want to deal with it( that was discussed during email hours later) . After the tour i definitely knew i didnt want to enroll my child there. I also met Francisco, he was a very nice person and holy family is lucky to have him. It was just too business like in my opinion for a preschool, you want a child to feel welcomed and not just see them as "$". I wouldnt recommend any of my family or friends for a tour there. Thankfully we found a school that i actually toured before holy family and that is where my child will be going, they saw him just like holy family did, very attached to me and they were very caring towards him even during the tour.
Nancy AguilarAug 13, 2024Our kids went here from 9 months through preschool. It was a great environment for them.
mike kuniavskyAug 3, 2024New director and assistant director are shady and terrible, they care more about money and publicity for the school then they do for the actual kids. Cross contamination by admin, no regard for regulations or procedures, school has bugs and grime everywhere. They recently had an outbreak of COVID-19 in their kitchen and cleaning staff and lied, telling parents and staff it was in the maintenance crew or that they hadn't even been back to work yet. Director and assistant director cut many corners with no care for the health or safety of the children in their care, just whats easiest and quicker for themselves. 3 licensing violations since January, yet they continue to intimidate staff into silence in fear of their jobs and sweep everything under the rug. With over a hundred years of an amazing and honorable reputation, HFDH has gone downhill drastically. You would be better off sending your children literally anywhere but here.
Lucas CrittendonSep 3, 2020I'm 46 yrs old and I went to Holy Family when I was little and all I have are fond childhood memories of this place. I made my very first best friend here, went to St. Anthony's together and to this day we are still friends as well as with many others. Holy Family really made a positive impact in my life and I am truly greatful.

Questions parents ask about HOLY FAMILY DAY HOME
Is HOLY FAMILY DAY HOME a licensed child care provider in California?
- Yes. HOLY FAMILY DAY HOME holds California licence 380500308, currently listed as "LICENSED" by the Department of Social Services, Community Care Licensing Division, first issued on January 4, 1975. Confirm current standing with the agency before enrolling.
What kind of child care licence does HOLY FAMILY DAY HOME hold?
- California licenses HOLY FAMILY DAY HOME as a day care center, a category that covers preschool-age children in a centre-based programme. The category comes from the state's own licence record, not from the provider.
How many children can HOLY FAMILY DAY HOME care for?
- HOLY FAMILY DAY HOME is licensed for up to 150 children at one time. Licensed capacity is a ceiling set by the state, not a count of current enrolment or of available places.
How often has California inspected HOLY FAMILY DAY HOME?
- California records 4 inspection visits to HOLY FAMILY DAY HOME, the most recent on May 1, 2026 and the earliest on record February 25, 2022. The state publishes the dates of these visits but not what they found, so this count reflects licensing activity, not results. Read the findings themselves in California's own facility search.
Has California visited HOLY FAMILY DAY HOME in response to a complaint?
- California records 4 complaint-driven visits to HOLY FAMILY DAY HOME. A complaint visit means someone raised a concern and the state went to look. California does not publish what those visits found, so the count on its own does not say whether any concern was upheld.
Who holds the licence for HOLY FAMILY DAY HOME?
- The licence is held by HOLY FAMILY DAY HOMES OF SAN FRANCISCO. California lists the licensee separately from the facility name, so the two often differ. The facility is in San Francisco County.
