What California does not publish here

The state publishes when licensing staff visited, not what they found. We do not hold California’s inspection findings, so nothing on this page tells you whether a visit resulted in a citation. A visit count is a measure of licensing activity, and a facility visited more often is not for that reason a worse one. Read the findings in California’s own facility search.

  • Our daughter started at ICNS shortly after she turned 3 and it has been absolutely wonderful for her. I fell in love with the school and teachers instantly. My daughter loves being outside, and getting messy, and that is a big part of their day. Everything about the school is set up for young children to play, explore and learn new skills. Our child has grown both emotionally and socially since she began attending and we are very thankful for the community that the school provides. The teachers are incredible and you can tell they love what they do. Ms. Donna and Ms. Bushra get to know each child, and family, so well and it shows in each interaction they have. I have also learned a lot as a parent through watching the teachers and the days in which I volunteer. Since parents are involved in the school you really feel a sense of community and find that other parents sincerely care about the well being of your child. I feel confident each time I drop her off for her school day and she is always excited. She is about to return for her second year and has asked “when does school start” all summer long. We just had our second baby and we plan to send him to ICNS as well.

  • ICNS has been such a wonderful place for our children’s early learning. As a cooperative preschool, it’s more than just a school—it’s a community where parents and teachers work hand-in-hand to create a warm, nurturing environment. Ms. Donna and Ms. Bushra are truly exceptional educators. They bring so much patience, creativity, and joy to the classroom, making every day an adventure in learning. Through play-based activities, creative projects, and outdoor exploration, they encourage curiosity, social skills, and confidence in every child. Being part of the cooperative means we’ve been able to see firsthand the care and dedication that goes into each lesson and interaction. Our 2 boys went to ICNS and I still remember how they wake up excited to go to school and come home full of stories, songs, and smiles. We couldn’t ask for a better start to their educational journey.

  • We loved our two years at Irvine Community Nursery School! It’s a truly special play-based, parent-participation program where kids get plenty of time to explore, interact, and develop social skills. Our daughter started at just 3 years old, freshly potty trained, and transitioned more easily than we expected. In the first year she enjoyed school, and in the second year she really blossomed—literally running towards the classroom in the mornings. Watching her grow into her own identity, separate from mom and dad, was amazing. As parents, we valued the chance to volunteer in class and see her development firsthand. We even took on the role of school webmasters in our second year. Juggling schedules wasn’t always easy, but it was worth it. We left with not only wonderful memories, but friendships we hope will last. This program deserves all the recognition it can get! Families should be lining up for the chance to enroll.

  • This preschool was recommended to me and I’m so happy it was! I had two kids go through this school and the environment is warm, nurturing, and centered around play-based learning, which was exactly what my children needed to thrive. What really sets this school apart is the incredible staff. The teachers go above and beyond in every way — not only are they knowledgeable and experienced, but they also genuinely care about each child and meet them where they are. My kids grew so much socially and emotionally. The outdoor, nature-based vibe is another huge plus, it’s not just a school built in a parking lot or office building. It’s a magical, joyful place that fosters creativity, independence, and kindness. I’ll always be grateful we found this gem. Highly, highly recommend to any family looking for a preschool that truly stands out.

  • We absolutely love our son’s co-op preschool! The community here is so warm, welcoming, and truly feels like a family. Ms. Bushra and Ms. Donna are incredible teachers, kind, patient, and so dedicated to helping each child grow. Every day, my son comes home excited to share something new he’s learned. We’re so grateful for the care, attention, and positive environment they create. This school has been such a wonderful start to his learning journey!

  • The best preschool ever! I love Ms. Donna! Not only is she knowledgeable with kids and early childhood education, she’s also full of love and patient with kids. She sees the individual needs while having to develop the curriculum for the whole class. Not to mention she’s giving lessons to parents for the monthly meeting to equip parents for better communication with kids. Don’t know how she did that. Simply amazing! I would recommend this school for anyone who is able to volunteer a good amount of time. It’s a co-op school, so the parents must be able to volunteer and have a ‘job’ at school.

Is IRVINE COMMUNITY NURSERY SCHOOL a licensed child care provider in California?

Yes. IRVINE COMMUNITY NURSERY SCHOOL holds California licence 304270061, currently listed as "LICENSED" by the Department of Social Services, Community Care Licensing Division, first issued on September 12, 1994. Confirm current standing with the agency before enrolling.

What kind of child care licence does IRVINE COMMUNITY NURSERY SCHOOL hold?

California licenses IRVINE COMMUNITY NURSERY SCHOOL as a day care center, a category that covers preschool-age children in a centre-based programme. The category comes from the state's own licence record, not from the provider.

How many children can IRVINE COMMUNITY NURSERY SCHOOL care for?

IRVINE COMMUNITY NURSERY SCHOOL is licensed for up to 24 children at one time. Licensed capacity is a ceiling set by the state, not a count of current enrolment or of available places.

How often has California inspected IRVINE COMMUNITY NURSERY SCHOOL?

California records 2 inspection visits to IRVINE COMMUNITY NURSERY SCHOOL, the most recent on October 14, 2025 and the earliest on record June 12, 2023. Has California visited IRVINE COMMUNITY NURSERY SCHOOL in response to a complaint?

California records no complaint-driven visits to IRVINE COMMUNITY NURSERY SCHOOL. That means no concern prompted a visit on the public record, which is not the same as a clean inspection history: the state does not publish what its visits found.

Who holds the licence for IRVINE COMMUNITY NURSERY SCHOOL?

The licence is held by IRVINE COOPERATIVE NURSERY SCHOOL. California lists the licensee separately from the facility name, so the two often differ. The facility is in Orange County.
