What California does not publish here

The state publishes when licensing staff visited, not what they found. We do not hold California’s inspection findings, so nothing on this page tells you whether a visit resulted in a citation. A visit count is a measure of licensing activity, and a facility visited more often is not for that reason a worse one. Read the findings in California’s own facility search.

  • Beautiful preschool campus with large outdoor area. It was a wonderful place for my son to grow and to meet new parents.

  • Kiddie Kampus was a wonderful preschool, and continues to be a wonderful community for our family. We had two children there, seven years apart, and it was a delight to get to return. The only downside perhaps is that it was hard to go from a play based environment with so much outside time to a traditional elementary school afterwards.

  • Our son attended Kiddie Kampus for three years a few years ago. This program is incredible. It (and the people who make it happen) fits with all types of children and families. The parent involvement is a signifying factor, the teachers provide a balance of empathy and support that made the perfect launchpad for our little guy. We are still friends and will be for life with many of the fellow families; there were camping trips, beach days, weekend fun, and support when needed. As you can tell I’m a fan and hope future families are able to maintain this community.

  • We could not be happier that we found Kiddie Kampus for our son. As an Alameda preschool, it strikes the perfect balance we were looking for: a play based philosophy that lets kids learn the way they’re built to learn, paired with so much time spent outside that our little one comes home every day with stories about what they discovered in the yard. The Reggio Emilia approach really shines through here, especially in the process art the children create, where the focus is on exploration and joy rather than a finished product to hang on the fridge. This is a genuinely community based program where teachers know every child and every parent by name, and you never feel like just another family passing through. The low teacher to student ratio means our son gets real attention and care, and you can feel how much the educators love what they do. We recommend Kiddie Kampus wholeheartedly to any Alameda family searching for a warm, thoughtful place for their child to grow.

  • Both of my children attended Kiddie Kampus and I am so grateful that this was the place of some of their first learning experiences. The social emotional skills, love of learning, and sweet friendships and relationships they've acquired here with their classmates, their loving and nurturing teachers, and other adults are priceless. I can also say that for myself as a parent! The community-building aspects of the school are unparalleled, and I feel so fortunate to have been surrounded by such supportive and kind people. I loved watching my children and their classmates learn and grow in such a joyous and magical place. It will always hold a very special place in our hearts.

  • We are so grateful for Kiddie Kampus. The play-based, community-centered environment means our daughter doesn't just go to school — she belongs somewhere. The low student -to-grown up ratio makes all the difference; every child is genuinely known and loved here. The teachers and directors bring remarkable dedication and expertise to both the children and the broader community. And the friendships — among the kids and the grown-ups alike — are the ones that last a lifetime.

How many children can KIDDIE KAMPUS COOPERATIVE PLAY SCHOOL care for?
