La Playa is pure magic! Both of my children have attended, and I’ve never experienced a more loving, thoughtful, and community driven preschool. Teacher Teri is truly amazing!!! An award-winning educator who understands child development and celebrates every child as an individual. The families, the sense of connection, the joy, it’s all incredible. I even switched my older child here after two years at another preschool because I fell in love when my younger started attending. And the cost is so reasonable, both kids together cost less than one at many other schools. I couldn’t recommend La Playa more!

Our toddler daughter is so happy here and loves going to school so much that she sings and skips down the street on the way in the morning. Learning to love school is the key first step in the education process and La Playa hits it out of the park!

I especially loved the Talk-Overs—I gained so much insight from them. I’m deeply grateful to all the teachers. You’ve been so generous, kind, and attentive. I’m truly glad we joined this school—not only for the learning experience but also because we found such a warm and supportive parent community. La Playa is a play-based school, and while the teachers say they don’t focus on academics, I believe the children learn something even more valuable here. They grow into their nature and learn important life skills: understanding routines, sharing, saying sorry and forgiving, taking turns, and developing empathy. These lessons shape a brighter future for them. At this age, moral education is just as—if not more—important than academics. One day during a Talk-Over, a teacher humbly said, “Maybe they won’t remember me.” But I want to say: you are my daughter’s very first teacher, and she will always remember you. Thank you for everything and please be in touch 🥰
GurmeetMay 15, 2025La Playa is truly one-of-a-kind and my children love going here! The teachers are great at recognizing and anticipating the needs of the children and are always finding new ways to engage them and work with their energy and big feelings. As a co-op, the school relies on families to be involved and work together and we are so happy to have found this incredible community. The families care about each other and the school. We also appreciate the emphasis on social development and conflict resolution and have seen incredible growth in our children this year!
Megan IbarraJun 11, 2023Our family loves La Playa! After being away from kids for so long during the pandemic, it was a wonderful transition for them into this school! They love the teachers, and they love the kids! The school encourages play-based learning, which I love! My kids will get years of structured education in a classroom, so I want them to be kids as long as possible! It is a great way to meet like-minded families and build friendships in Los Angeles, which can be really hard. The teachers are delightful! They are really caring and help the kids build good social skills that they will use for the rest of their lives!
