What California does not publish here

The state publishes when licensing staff visited, not what they found. We do not hold California’s inspection findings, so nothing on this page tells you whether a visit resulted in a citation. A visit count is a measure of licensing activity, and a facility visited more often is not for that reason a worse one. Read the findings in California’s own facility search.

  • Very thankful for this preschool! This was our 4 year old daughter's only second exposure to socializing with kids in a larger setting besides playdates. The other time was just a short term two month day care. We are so thankful for the care and love Ms. Anu showed to our daughter and all her students. Thank you for creating a nurturing and loving environment. Our daughter was more comfortable with adults because of the pandemic, so she was very attached to Ms. Anu. Ms. Anu was so accommodating to our daughter being her "safe zone" and helping our daughter be able to go to school without her favorite stuffed animal. Thank you so much for helping our daughter transition to be ok without her stuffed animal and to be on her own with kids her age! We were so amazed at how much our daughter learned in just one school year! She learned to write all her letters, learn days of the month, seasons, and so much more! She also enjoyed all the dozens of crafts they got to do and she really was fascinated by the solar system that she even asked Ms. Anu where she could buy one ;p We feel she is more than prepared to go to transitional kindergarten this fall and got more used to socializing with other kids her age. And thankful for all the other kind students and parents that helped make our daughter feel safe, comfortable, and loved. Our daughter would ask us almost every time she went to school, "who is the working parent today?" as she had some favorite parents who helped out during the day :) Also there were a couple of cases of students getting covid-19 and Ms. Anu and the school handled all those occasions very well! Also in the beginning and throughout the year, the Program Director Rebekah Pike was also super wonderful to work with! I highly recommend this preschool if you are looking for a wonderful and affordable ($300/month for Mon/Wed/Fri 8:30am-11:30am option) co-op school! Many of the other parents we talked to also love this school that they sent their second or third child here too! Also because it is a co-op school, we felt all of the parents really cared about their children and the other students.

  • My daughter & I absolutely love this school! Our teacher Ms. Bonnie is so warm, vibrant, and kind. It has a great community feel because it is a co-op, so parents work in the classroom 1-2 days/month & hence is so nice to get to know all the students & parents from the class. My daughter loves going & she wishes she had preschool every day. It has just the right combination of structured learning, arts & crafts for developing fine motor skills & play time for kids to grow. I was worried at first about the scheduled work days since I work full time (though some off hours) but I’ve had no trouble rescheduling them when needed. I only wish it was closer to my house, but totally worth the drive. My 2nd daughter can’t wait to go to school there too!

  • As a co-op, parents are required to volunteer one day about every two weeks. I found this to be an interesting way to participate in my child's education and work with other children also you really get to see that each child is their own person and has a unique view on the world.

  • Our family loves Laurelwood Preschool. My daughters made wonderful friends, learned a lot, and had so much fun. The teachers are amazing, and it's very affordable. I highly recommend this school.

  • All three of my girls went to Laurelwood preschool. It was a wonderful experience. It gave me and my family a wonderful community to be involved in for six years. My girls are now all academically and socially successful in elementary school. The parent requirements are not overly demanding and the cost was the most affordable I could find at the time.

  • I have two daughters in the PreK program and we have loved being part of the community. The teachers are very qualified, the parents are engaged and the kids love being there. It's a parent participation school, so you do volunteer in the classrooms about once every two weeks, but compared to other co-op schools, this is very reasonable. I actually really enjoy knowing all the kids. And the price is so affordable for our area - by far, the most reasonably priced Preschool.

Questions parents ask about LAURELWOOD PRESCHOOL

Is LAURELWOOD PRESCHOOL a licensed child care provider in California?

Yes. LAURELWOOD PRESCHOOL holds California licence 430709235, currently listed as "CLOSED" by the Department of Social Services, Community Care Licensing Division, first issued on April 1, 1995. Confirm current standing with the agency before enrolling.

What kind of child care licence does LAURELWOOD PRESCHOOL hold?

California licenses LAURELWOOD PRESCHOOL as a day care center, a category that covers preschool-age children in a centre-based programme. The category comes from the state's own licence record, not from the provider.

How many children can LAURELWOOD PRESCHOOL care for?

LAURELWOOD PRESCHOOL is licensed for up to 36 children at one time. Licensed capacity is a ceiling set by the state, not a count of current enrolment or of available places.

How often has California inspected LAURELWOOD PRESCHOOL?

California records 2 inspection visits to LAURELWOOD PRESCHOOL, the most recent on March 15, 2023 and the earliest on record April 22, 2022. The state publishes the dates of these visits but not what they found, so this count reflects licensing activity, not results. Read the findings themselves in California's own facility search.

Has California visited LAURELWOOD PRESCHOOL in response to a complaint?

California records no complaint-driven visits to LAURELWOOD PRESCHOOL. That means no concern prompted a visit on the public record, which is not the same as a clean inspection history: the state does not publish what its visits found.

Who holds the licence for LAURELWOOD PRESCHOOL?

The licence is held by LAURELWOOD PRESCHOOL. California lists the licensee separately from the facility name, so the two often differ. The facility is in Santa Clara County.
