  We feel incredibly lucky to have found Lilac! From the moment we met for the tour, it was clear that this is a truly special, community-driven environment where both children and families are deeply cared for. The small class sizes and low teacher-to-student ratio make such a difference. Every child is genuinely seen, supported, and encouraged to grow at their own pace. The teachers and headmaster Heather are exceptional: thoughtful, attentive, and deeply committed to authentic Montessori principles. It’s not just a label here, you can see it in how the children learn, explore, and build independence with confidence. What really sets this school apart is the richness of the experience. The children aren’t just in a classroom—they’re actively engaged in meaningful, hands-on activities every day. From cooking projects to caring for classroom pets, to celebrating a wide range of cultures and traditions, there’s a beautiful emphasis on curiosity, empathy, and real-world learning. Most importantly, our child is happy, confident, and excited to go to school each day, which says everything. We couldn’t recommend this school more highly.

  Lilac Montessori is a little Escondido gem. The neighborhood is very lucky to have an education center that is tailored to supporting the community. Ms. Heather and her team of educators are wonderful. My children received personalized care and engagement during their time at school. The environment is very inclusive and supportive to all demographics of families. Communication is a key component to making parents and families feel confident when sending their kids to school and Lilac does an amazing job at providing just that. Lilac has been a blessing for us. Since attending my kids confidence has grown with peer interaction and equally with their independence. It’s a huge relief knowing you’re sending your children somewhere that they are safe, the adults are kind, patient, and they genuinely care about each individual child.

  Truly could not be happier with Lilac Montessori. I love that when I drop my kiddo off I know they are safe and loved and happy. They were the only school we toured and they have been a perfect fit for our family. The staff is incredible, they truly care about each and every student. I have loved getting to watch our kiddo’s confidence grow and his love of learning be nurtured in such a beautiful way. I know it’s cliche but 10/10 recommend, they truly are absolutely wonderful.

  Lilac Montessori has been an incredible place for my child. The teachers are thoughtful, attentive, and genuinely tuned in to each child’s needs, helping them build confidence and independence in a really natural way. One thing we especially appreciate is how strong their communication is; we’re always kept in the loop with updates, helpful insights, and anything important to watch for, which gives us a lot of peace of mind. They’re also very attentive when it comes to health and cleanliness, doing a great job recognizing when kids may be getting sick and taking the right steps to prevent the spread. It’s such a positive, well-run environment, and we feel very lucky to be part of this community.
