What California does not publish here
The state publishes when licensing staff visited, not what they found. We do not hold California’s inspection findings, so nothing on this page tells you whether a visit resulted in a citation. A visit count is a measure of licensing activity, and a facility visited more often is not for that reason a worse one. Read the findings in California’s own facility search.

I cannot recommend Little Hugs Preschool enough! Our family has been sending our little ones to LHP for more than 20 years, and we have always felt so grateful to be part of such a loving and nurturing school community. We have seen firsthand the incredible love, care, and dedication each teacher pours into the school and into teaching our little ones. It has been especially wonderful to watch our son grow and progress, learning new skills and gaining confidence along the way. We are so thankful for all that Little Hugs has given our family and would wholeheartedly recommend LHP to anyone looking for a wonderful preschool for their little one!
Ashley BanariaAug 13, 2026Little Hugs is the best preschool in the Bay Area! They served both of my daughters during their preschool years, and we were so happy to become part of their LHP family. Grace, Alyssa, and the entire team get to know each child and family, and it is truly a special place. The Little Hugs staff nurture each child while also holding them to preschool standards. The children are supported academically, emotionally, and socially. In addition, they provide nutritious, home-cooked meals and have fun, celebratory events. It is a wonderful community that I recommend to everyone I know. Thank you LHP!
Amanda O'ConnorJul 28, 2026Our family had a wonderful experience at Little Hugs Preschool. The teachers and staff were always so caring, patient, and welcoming, and they created such a fun and nurturing place for our children to learn and grow. Both of our children loved going to preschool, and it was amazing to see how much they learned and grew during their time there. The activities were creative, engaging, and helped build confidence, friendships, and a love of learning. The staff did a great job communicating with parents, and it always gave us peace of mind knowing our children were happy, safe, and well cared for each day. Even though our children have moved on, we'll always be grateful for the positive start Little Hugs gave them. We highly recommend Little Hugs Preschool to any family looking for a warm, supportive, and wonderful preschool. Thank you to everyone at Little Hugs for everything you did for our family!
Kevin LJul 27, 2026Little Hugs has welcomed us with open arms. My child loves going there every day and learns so much from his amazing teachers and his peers. All of the teachers have love, patience, and warmth. I am so impressed by the songs that he comes home singing, the art that he creates, the vocabulary that he learns, and the manners that he is learning as well! We also appreciate how there are special events for holidays that are carefully planned and executed. We are so lucky to have found little hugs and would recommend them without any hesitation.
Sacha DMar 5, 2026Both of my children attended Little Hugs Preschool, and our experience has been truly wonderful. After my son had a difficult month at another preschool in San Francisco, a friend recommended Little Hugs—and from the very first day, he felt safe, welcomed, and genuinely cared for. That sense of comfort and connection stayed with him the entire time he was there. A few years later, my daughter joined, and the experience was just as special. Miss Gracie and Miss Alyssa have become like family to us, and the way they embrace each child and parent creates a warm, supportive community. We’re so grateful for the loving foundation Little Hugs has given both of our kids.
Dana JungFeb 27, 2026Our family has been part of the Little Hugs community since 2015, and I cannot say enough about the incredible care and dedication this school has shown our children over the years. Both of my kids attended Little Hugs, and each one left fully prepared for kindergarten — confident, curious, and eager to learn. The teachers have a genuine gift for nurturing young children and building the kind of foundation that sets them up for success. But what truly cemented our love for Little Hugs was what they did for our family during the pandemic. When so much of the world shut down in 2020, Little Hugs continued to show up for our youngest during her kindergarten-prep year. Having her in a safe, caring, in-person environment was an absolute lifesaver — because at home, I was already juggling my older child's Zoom school schedule on top of everything else the pandemic threw at us. I honestly don't know how we would have held it together without Little Hugs during that time. If you're looking for a preschool where your child will be loved, challenged, and truly prepared for the next chapter, Little Hugs is it. We are so grateful for everything they've done for our family from 2015 to 2021.

Questions parents ask about LITTLE HUGS PRESCHOOL
Is LITTLE HUGS PRESCHOOL a licensed child care provider in California?
- Yes. LITTLE HUGS PRESCHOOL holds California licence 414001732, currently listed as "LICENSED" by the Department of Social Services, Community Care Licensing Division, first issued on June 29, 2004. Confirm current standing with the agency before enrolling.
What kind of child care licence does LITTLE HUGS PRESCHOOL hold?
- California licenses LITTLE HUGS PRESCHOOL as a day care center, a category that covers preschool-age children in a centre-based programme. The category comes from the state's own licence record, not from the provider.
How many children can LITTLE HUGS PRESCHOOL care for?
- LITTLE HUGS PRESCHOOL is licensed for up to 36 children at one time. Licensed capacity is a ceiling set by the state, not a count of current enrolment or of available places.
How often has California inspected LITTLE HUGS PRESCHOOL?
- California records 3 inspection visits to LITTLE HUGS PRESCHOOL, the most recent on November 18, 2025 and the earliest on record April 28, 2023. The state publishes the dates of these visits but not what they found, so this count reflects licensing activity, not results. Read the findings themselves in California's own facility search.
Has California visited LITTLE HUGS PRESCHOOL in response to a complaint?
- California records no complaint-driven visits to LITTLE HUGS PRESCHOOL. That means no concern prompted a visit on the public record, which is not the same as a clean inspection history: the state does not publish what its visits found.
Who holds the licence for LITTLE HUGS PRESCHOOL?
- The licence is held by LITTLE HUGS PRESCHOOL. California lists the licensee separately from the facility name, so the two often differ. The facility is in San Mateo County.
