What California does not publish here

The state publishes when licensing staff visited, not what they found. We do not hold California’s inspection findings, so nothing on this page tells you whether a visit resulted in a citation. A visit count is a measure of licensing activity, and a facility visited more often is not for that reason a worse one. Read the findings in California’s own facility search.

  • Our infant has been attending Little Pines for a few months and we absolutely LOVE it! The childcare team is loving, attentive, and communicative. They absolutely love my kiddo and he loves them. The environment is small and intimate, perfect for little ones to get lots of love and attention. Highly Recommend

  • We love Little Pines! Our oldest now 5 started at Little Pines when they first opened (18 months old) and his brother started there when he turned 2. The staff are incredible and it truly feels like a family. Very secure building and outside play yard, you need key access to get inside the building from any of the doors. Countless art projects, learned songs, Christmas parties, animal visits and friendships we hope will last a lifetime. Attending graduation you could clearly see that the staff KNOW our kiddos and love them for exactly who they are to the core. We are lucky to have a few more years of the “boat” out back and “shoe rocks”… if you know, you know. Truly a family, do not hesitate. A hidden gem for Chico families.

  • We love Little Pines! We’ve been attending since 2022 with our boys in the Infant room (under 2yrs) and the toddler/big kid room. My boys have loved every day, are always excited to go and have made great friends. The staff are all wonderful and you can tell they truly care about their students. They provide a safe and fun environment to learn and grow. We highly recommend Little Pines to any families looking for exceptional childcare and preschool!

  • Our family has been part of Little Pines Preschool for 2½ years, and it’s truly been such a special place for us. From day one, I’ve felt supported (not just as a parent, but as part of a caring community.) The small class size makes a big difference, and the teachers are so warm, patient, and genuinely love what they do. Our child has thrived socially, emotionally, and academically. The big backyard playground is a total bonus! Plenty of room to run, climb, and explore. And the curriculum is both fun and engaging, keeping our little one excited to go to school every day. We’re so grateful for Little Pines, it’s been such a joyful, nurturing start to our child’s learning journey!

  • We can’t believe three years have flown by! From the first shy, little toddler “hello” to the confident, curious little girl we see today, Little Pines has been pure magic. The teachers have wrapped our little girl in love, laughter, and learning every single day. From ABCs, 123s, and the fine art of sharing (most of the time 🙂) they have made learning so fun. Our family highly recommends Little Pines.

  • We love Little Pines! My son has gone there since they opened, starting in infant room and now will be graduation to TK this fall. All the teachers are great. Both my kids are excited to go to school.

Questions parents ask about LITTLE PINES PRESCHOOL

Is LITTLE PINES PRESCHOOL a licensed child care provider in California?

Yes. LITTLE PINES PRESCHOOL holds California licence 045407962, currently listed as "LICENSED" by the Department of Social Services, Community Care Licensing Division, first issued on September 29, 2021. Confirm current standing with the agency before enrolling.

What kind of child care licence does LITTLE PINES PRESCHOOL hold?

California licenses LITTLE PINES PRESCHOOL as a day care center, a category that covers preschool-age children in a centre-based programme. The category comes from the state's own licence record, not from the provider.

How many children can LITTLE PINES PRESCHOOL care for?

LITTLE PINES PRESCHOOL is licensed for up to 23 children at one time. Licensed capacity is a ceiling set by the state, not a count of current enrolment or of available places.

How often has California inspected LITTLE PINES PRESCHOOL?

California records 3 inspection visits to LITTLE PINES PRESCHOOL, the most recent on March 10, 2026 and the earliest on record January 11, 2024. The state publishes the dates of these visits but not what they found, so this count reflects licensing activity, not results. Read the findings themselves in California's own facility search.

Has California visited LITTLE PINES PRESCHOOL in response to a complaint?

California records 3 complaint-driven visits to LITTLE PINES PRESCHOOL. A complaint visit means someone raised a concern and the state went to look. California does not publish what those visits found, so the count on its own does not say whether any concern was upheld.

Who holds the licence for LITTLE PINES PRESCHOOL?

The licence is held by DRANE, ANDREA. California lists the licensee separately from the facility name, so the two often differ. The facility is in Butte County.
