What California does not publish here

The state publishes when licensing staff visited, not what they found. We do not hold California’s inspection findings, so nothing on this page tells you whether a visit resulted in a citation. A visit count is a measure of licensing activity, and a facility visited more often is not for that reason a worse one. Read the findings in California’s own facility search.

  • My wife and I now have our youngest in 3rd grade both of our children went to Little sprouts (6 years apart). My wife had a 3 page checklist with our first child and Noreen was the ONLY one in town that met her meticulous 1st child standards. The foundation of learning, character growth and care that Noreen and her staff puts into her school is something beyond special. Our children still talk about their time there..mind you they only went there ages 2-5. Somehow my daughter this very night (a few weeks into 3rd grade mind you) talked about how amazing it was there. That Noreen really did care about all the kids there and that even though she was working hard to take care of and teach everyone; she always took the time to make their food and hand it out and make everyone feel seen and special . Some people love what they do; you can tell by children coming from there; they still remember little sprouts is ran with love.

  • We love little sprouts! Ms. Norene and the staff put their whole hearts into this school and our daughter has been attending for about a year and a half. They provide lunch and snack and they have a great preschool and and pre K program. I have worked in child care for over 15 years and I believe we found a hidden gem in Chico and could not be happier. Serving age 2-5 and spots open!! and this place is so special. We toured several preschools and we are so glad we chose this one.

Questions parents ask about LITTLE SPROUTS PRESCHOOL

Is LITTLE SPROUTS PRESCHOOL a licensed child care provider in California?

Yes. LITTLE SPROUTS PRESCHOOL holds California licence 045405784, currently listed as "LICENSED" by the Department of Social Services, Community Care Licensing Division, first issued on December 30, 2009. Confirm current standing with the agency before enrolling.

What kind of child care licence does LITTLE SPROUTS PRESCHOOL hold?

California licenses LITTLE SPROUTS PRESCHOOL as a day care center, a category that covers preschool-age children in a centre-based programme. The category comes from the state's own licence record, not from the provider.

How many children can LITTLE SPROUTS PRESCHOOL care for?

LITTLE SPROUTS PRESCHOOL is licensed for up to 48 children at one time. Licensed capacity is a ceiling set by the state, not a count of current enrolment or of available places.

How often has California inspected LITTLE SPROUTS PRESCHOOL?

California records 4 inspection visits to LITTLE SPROUTS PRESCHOOL, the most recent on December 11, 2025 and the earliest on record December 15, 2022. The state publishes the dates of these visits but not what they found, so this count reflects licensing activity, not results. Read the findings themselves in California's own facility search.

Has California visited LITTLE SPROUTS PRESCHOOL in response to a complaint?

California records 2 complaint-driven visits to LITTLE SPROUTS PRESCHOOL. A complaint visit means someone raised a concern and the state went to look. California does not publish what those visits found, so the count on its own does not say whether any concern was upheld.

Who holds the licence for LITTLE SPROUTS PRESCHOOL?

The licence is held by CURRY, NORENE. California lists the licensee separately from the facility name, so the two often differ. The facility is in Butte County.
