What California does not publish here
The state publishes when licensing staff visited, not what they found. We do not hold California’s inspection findings, so nothing on this page tells you whether a visit resulted in a citation. A visit count is a measure of licensing activity, and a facility visited more often is not for that reason a worse one. Read the findings in California’s own facility search.

This school is wonderful... It provided a supportive and loving environment for my kids to work through their separation anxiety. And their parent education component helped me navigate through the challenges of parenting.
Jessica LemieuxAug 25, 2018Two years ago, when our family decided to move to the Bay Area from northern Virginia, one of my biggest concerns was finding a preschool that would be a good fit for our then three-year-old son. LAPP turned out to be a great fit for him and for our family. The play-based curriculum at LAPP has gently guided our son to develop his classroom skills -- learning to listen to the teacher, sitting on the carpet at group time, participating in small group activities -- and has allowed him the freedom to explore new areas. After two years at LAPP, I am amazed at his growth, especially in his fine and gross motor skills and in his social skills.
Lisa HenryJul 2, 2014I can't say enough good things about this preschool. My sister attended the school as a child, and I remember how much fun it seemed to be. I even remember the name of her teacher, even though it wasn't my class! So when my own child was old enough for a school, I just had to see if LAPP was still around. And lucky for me, it was. The teachers are so invested in making this school a wonderful place for children. They are a truly dedicated group of people. And I have really enjoyed being part of the community of parents and staff members; there is just nothing quite like knowing that you are not just on the sidelines of your child's introduction to education, you are an active participant. I am very lucky to have had this experience, and it's very hard to have to leave it for Elementary school. If I could somehow capture this kind of enthusiasm for growth and education, I would take it with me to every school he attends!
Hallie SmithJul 2, 2014Most of the preschools in this area are going to have nice teachers and facilities, as does LAPP, but here you get something totally unique-- the chance to also become a better parent, and to find a strong community of families who really know each other. LAPP recognizes that offering parents tools, insights, a chance to reflect, and mutual support, is one of the best ways to nurture their children. My son and daughter have grown to trust and love the school environment. They've learned the steps to solving conflicts with friends, how to speak for themselves, how to listen, how to participate in a group, and they've experienced the joy of play and friendship. All of the teachers have that special touch with children, and many years of experience. I can't recommend it highly enough.

Questions parents ask about LOS ALTOS PARENT PRESCHOOL
Is LOS ALTOS PARENT PRESCHOOL a licensed child care provider in California?
- Yes. LOS ALTOS PARENT PRESCHOOL holds California licence 434412416, currently listed as "CLOSED" by the Department of Social Services, Community Care Licensing Division, first issued on September 12, 2011. Confirm current standing with the agency before enrolling.
What kind of child care licence does LOS ALTOS PARENT PRESCHOOL hold?
- California licenses LOS ALTOS PARENT PRESCHOOL as a day care center, a category that covers preschool-age children in a centre-based programme. The category comes from the state's own licence record, not from the provider.
How many children can LOS ALTOS PARENT PRESCHOOL care for?
- LOS ALTOS PARENT PRESCHOOL is licensed for up to 22 children at one time. Licensed capacity is a ceiling set by the state, not a count of current enrolment or of available places.
How often has California inspected LOS ALTOS PARENT PRESCHOOL?
- California records 2 inspection visits to LOS ALTOS PARENT PRESCHOOL, the most recent on April 26, 2018 and the earliest on record April 18, 2018. The state publishes the dates of these visits but not what they found, so this count reflects licensing activity, not results. Read the findings themselves in California's own facility search.
Has California visited LOS ALTOS PARENT PRESCHOOL in response to a complaint?
- California records no complaint-driven visits to LOS ALTOS PARENT PRESCHOOL. That means no concern prompted a visit on the public record, which is not the same as a clean inspection history: the state does not publish what its visits found.
Who holds the licence for LOS ALTOS PARENT PRESCHOOL?
- The licence is held by LOS ALTOS PARENT PRESCHOOL. California lists the licensee separately from the facility name, so the two often differ. The facility is in Santa Clara County.
