What California does not publish here
The state publishes when licensing staff visited, not what they found. We do not hold California’s inspection findings, so nothing on this page tells you whether a visit resulted in a citation. A visit count is a measure of licensing activity, and a facility visited more often is not for that reason a worse one. Read the findings in California’s own facility search.

Both my kids went to MHS starting in toddler group all the way through until they left for kindergarten. My son is currently a senior at Oakwood Secondary School and my daughter is a junior at U Penn. I can’t say enough good things about this school. My husband and I learned so much as parents and we actually still apply what we learned to our parenting style even though our kids are grown. To say this school nurtured their confidence, problem solving skills and critical thinking is an understatement. My daughter is still best friends with 2 of her classmates from MHS 20 years later and I am very good friends with a few of the moms I met there. It’s seriously such a special place that fosters so much love and safety and just helps create really good humans.
Jennifer GoldmanJun 28, 2026My two children had the most wonderful experience at Maggy Haves and always wish they could go back. The staff taught me how to be a better parent. So grateful for this place, its philosophy of respecting children and treating them as whole people and the friendships I made too!
Jaclyn CliffordMay 12, 2026Choosing The Maggy Haves School has truly changed my life as a parent — in the very best way possible. From the director to every single teacher, the care, thoughtfulness, and deep respect they show each child is extraordinary. Their focus goes far beyond surface-level social-emotional learning; they truly see and nurture the whole child. Both of my children have absolutely thrived here, each in their own unique way. I’ve watched their confidence grow, their curiosity expand, and their love of learning deepen in a way that feels both intentional and completely natural. The child-led curriculum is unmatched. It strikes the perfect balance — thoughtfully weaving together Progressive, Montessori, and Reggio-inspired elements while staying firmly rooted in authentic, play-based learning. It’s rare to find a school that executes this blend so seamlessly. I toured every preschool in the Sherman Oaks and Studio City area, and Maggy Haves completely blew me away. There is simply nothing else like it. I am endlessly grateful to be part of this community.
Lindsey LangweilerFeb 19, 2026Absolutely wonderful preschool. Warm, caring and professional teachers, with a focus on conflict resolution (wow!?) ….alongside all the fabulous play. Our preschooler is happy and feels safe here and is learning so many useful life skills, like being able to speak up for himself and how to collaborate with others. On top of this, the enormous and beautiful yard is truly unique. We love the chickens, the trees, the amazing play things (like a real jeep!)….there is so much. But the best, and most important, part of all is the teachers. Head of School Christie is a trusted resource of helpful knowledge and experience and the teachers are respectful, kind, thoughtful, patient and supportive to our children. We are deeply grateful to everyone at Maggy Have’s and we highly recommend it as a preschool.
Danny BurnsFeb 19, 2026Our family has had the most wonderful experience at Maggy Haves. The staff is truly exceptional. Thoughtful, patient, and deeply invested not just in the children, but in the families as a whole. A special shout-out to Christie, the director, who takes such incredible care with each family. She has a rare ability to make everyone feel seen and genuinely valued. We feel so grateful to be part of this community and cannot recommend Maggy Haves highly enough. It is a truly special place.
Sloane FrenchFeb 5, 2026We absolutely love Maggy Haves! When our daughter was a toddler, we looked at dozens of preschools from Sherman Oaks to Burbank, and found that of all the play-based schools, MHS was the very best in child-led experiential play, an evolving sense of identity within a larger community, and social emotional learning. The teachers are all fantastic, loving and knowledgeable, the director (previously a parent and teacher there herself) is hands-on and has a wealth of info about childhood development, and they have an enormous play yard with lots of water play, climbing structures, and chickens and a tortoise to love and care for. The kids come home happy with plenty of stories and new songs, and covered in paint and dirt, which we take as markers of the ideal day of nursery school play. And now that our daughter is moving on to kindergarten and our son is about to start his first year in the Circle Room, I am just so grateful to have found this uniquely special community at Maggy Haves when we did.
