What California does not publish here
The state publishes when licensing staff visited, not what they found. We do not hold California’s inspection findings, so nothing on this page tells you whether a visit resulted in a citation. A visit count is a measure of licensing activity, and a facility visited more often is not for that reason a worse one. Read the findings in California’s own facility search.

We had a fantastic experience at this preschool. The teachers are friendly, caring, responsive, and always kept us well informed. Our daughter loved going every day, made wonderful friends, and grew so much during her time here. We’re so grateful to the amazing staff and would highly recommend this preschool to other families!
Danielle SquiresAug 1, 2026We toured a few different local preschools and Marley’s values and teaching style matched us the most. Both of our boys attended Marley’s for 3 years. We quickly noticed a jump in development in their language, social skills and love for learning. The teachers and staff are absolutely amazing and you can tell they love what they are doing. There were special beach day events for Mother’s Day and Father’s Day. Holidays events/dinners were organized and became great opportunities to meet other families and see the accomplishments of the kids. Going into kindergarten, both boys were well prepared and are performing at the top of their class.
Michael BloomerJul 31, 2026Both of our boys attended Marleys Preschool. Our oldest attended the Sunset Beach location from 2018-2021, and our younger attended the Seal Beach location from 2023-2025. Both locations and staff were absolutely fantastic! The communication with management and staff was easy and punctual. We really enjoyed what seemed like "constant" updates of your child's activities will all of the photos and comments that were provided daily. The core values that were taught have played a big part in the foundation of our boys' emotional, social and mental development. These fundamentals have been continually built on, which helped set them up for success as they transitioned into Elementary School. Both of our boys built incredible relationships with their teachers. As parents, we experienced the comfort of always knowing that our children were in safe hands. Special shout-out to Amber who provided accommodations to our family when unexpected household challenges arose. My wife and I are truly grateful that we found shelter with the support and generosity that we experienced. If there was a 6th Star, I would give it!!! And if we ever have any more children, the day the child is born, I am calling to be put on the waiting list. Thank you for the memories!!!!!
Greg CurielJul 14, 2026This review has been a long time coming. We've needed considerable time to process the emotional toll that our experience at Marley's placed on our family. While the facility appears clean and organized at first glance, our 2-year-old's six-month enrollment revealed significant issues with their approach to early childhood development. The administration frequently labeled normal toddler behaviors (such as removing shoes or expressing emotions) as "disruptive." Their discipline methods were particularly troubling - they implemented time-outs where the child must remain completely silent and still before the timer even begins, turning what they claim is "one minute per age" into much longer periods of isolation for very young children. Even bragging that sometimes it took children 30 minutes of time out to calm down. Communication with leadership proved challenging. The director presents warmly during tours and parent meetings, yet becomes defensive and confrontational when discussing discipline approaches or child development concerns. When discussing philosophy, the director openly expressed disdain for contemporary child development concepts like "gentle parenting," dismissing them as "permissive" while advocating for more punitive approaches. There is a concerning disconnect between words and actions. The director frequently claims to value collaboration with parents to address challenges, yet in practice operates with an inflexible "my way or the highway" mentality. Parental input about what works best for their specific child is consistently dismissed. Instead, we were pressured to implement the school's preferred discipline methods at home, including time-outs, regardless of our family's values or our child's individual needs. This rigid approach undermined the parent-school partnership essential for supporting young children. Most concerning was their practice of sending our child home early for typical toddler behaviors, despite this policy not appearing anywhere in their handbook and without sufficient notice. This "policy" was implemented immediately after the very first time we suggested a different approach to time-outs, which we believed would work better for our child. This inconsistency created unnecessary stress and disruption for our family of fulltime working parents. Parents considering this school should be aware that their expectations appear misaligned with normal developmental stages for toddlers. While some families may prefer their structured approach, I would caution parents who value developmentally appropriate practices and genuine parent-school collaboration to thoroughly investigate their disciplinary philosophy and classroom management techniques before enrolling. Feel free to message me for specific examples and screenshots of messages sent from the school, which have caused many parents to drop their jaws when read. Luckily, our child thrived at their new pre-school (never once getting complaints from the school) and has largely forgotten the trauma from Marley's, however, as parents it is much more difficult to forget. I hope this feedback encourages the school to reconsider their approach to early childhood education and align their practices with current understanding of child development.

Questions parents ask about MARLEY'S PRESCHOOL
Is MARLEY'S PRESCHOOL a licensed child care provider in California?
- Yes. MARLEY'S PRESCHOOL holds California licence 304371021, currently listed as "LICENSED" by the Department of Social Services, Community Care Licensing Division, first issued on August 12, 2015. Confirm current standing with the agency before enrolling.
What kind of child care licence does MARLEY'S PRESCHOOL hold?
- California licenses MARLEY'S PRESCHOOL as a day care center, a category that covers preschool-age children in a centre-based programme. The category comes from the state's own licence record, not from the provider.
How many children can MARLEY'S PRESCHOOL care for?
- MARLEY'S PRESCHOOL is licensed for up to 33 children at one time. Licensed capacity is a ceiling set by the state, not a count of current enrolment or of available places.
How often has California inspected MARLEY'S PRESCHOOL?
- California records 3 inspection visits to MARLEY'S PRESCHOOL, the most recent on October 8, 2025 and the earliest on record August 23, 2021. The state publishes the dates of these visits but not what they found, so this count reflects licensing activity, not results. Read the findings themselves in California's own facility search.
Has California visited MARLEY'S PRESCHOOL in response to a complaint?
- California records 2 complaint-driven visits to MARLEY'S PRESCHOOL. A complaint visit means someone raised a concern and the state went to look. California does not publish what those visits found, so the count on its own does not say whether any concern was upheld.
Who holds the licence for MARLEY'S PRESCHOOL?
- The licence is held by MGZ SEAL, LLC. California lists the licensee separately from the facility name, so the two often differ. The facility is in Orange County.
