Licensing visits on record
California records 0 routine inspection visits and no visits prompted by a complaint to MARYVALE.
What California does not publish here
The state publishes when licensing staff visited, not what they found. We do not hold California’s inspection findings, so nothing on this page tells you whether a visit resulted in a citation. A visit count is a measure of licensing activity, and a facility visited more often is not for that reason a worse one. Read the findings in California’s own facility search.

213 SeguraFeb 5, 2026If i could i would leave 0 stars i applied for child care July 2025 because i was going back to work in November 2025 they made me go through the whole process i did explain to them i only needed child care for 3hrs and the lady who helped me do the application said that it was ok not to worry about it she even told me that they had a spot available for my daughter.Called them every month to make sure my daughter still had a spot they kept saying yes they were going to call me to let me know when she my baby would start, anyways beginning of November came around i called them to see what was going on they were giving me the run around and told me someone would contact me in a couple of days.I got a call 2 days before i had to go back to work letting me know my baby was not accepted i was so angry all because it wasn’t convenient for them because they were not going to get payed enough money thats why they rejected my baby they could have said that since the beginning now i had to rush and find someone to watch my baby it was such a waste of time they have bad customer service as well.
Cynthia VillalobosJan 30, 2026Hi my name is Shanna Perkins and I lived in at Maryville girls home I lived there from 1987 to 1990 I really enjoyed living there and I was A straight A student there and I love the School faculty & I really appreciate the house mothers, Monica, Bertha and Arlene."and I still remember them and miss them a lot, and I wanted to thank them for what they had done for me while I was in the program. I wish I would have stayed and not been coerced by my mom to run away to come back home with her!!!! I FEEL In My HEART, & SOUL thst My life would probably have been a lot different," if I Stayed, because I was doing so well there and my mom saw that so she wanted to make sure she stopped that for me I had my first job there and my second job there ever in life it was awesome it was my first opportunity I remember I only made one job I made $2.75 and the other one it was 425 I worked in the kitchen for the one job for one job and the other job I worked with the as an assistant cuz my little sister was over there and would cry for me a lot. When I first arrived there they used to have little boys but shortly after they stopped allowing boys there and only allowed girls to be there. I really remember the nuns there they were awesome there was this one nun that would walk around with her sneakers on wearing her headphones jaming out listen to her music, & dancing around, she used to make me smile and I remember thinking that there could be a chance for me to be happy in my life, which gave me hope, *I TRULY BELIEVED THAT❣️" If I would have stayed there I also remember a lady named Mary Pickford I don't know about her she just I don't know something about her . All these years I've tried to look for my roommate, Jennifer garlish, but I've never found her and I've always tried to look for her I really miss her and I truly miss the time I spent at Maryville and wish I had a second chance so I could change the decision I made I guess that something I'm just going to have to always regret and live with. Thank you,, All my LOVE, 💋💔💔💖ONELOVESHANNA💖
Shanna PerkinsFeb 10, 2025Wonderful Early education center. My kids enjoy and feel safe with the team. It is clean and well established; kids have fun too! I would highly recommend to other families in the community.
Erica GonzalesMar 16, 2024I grew up at Maryvale. I lived there from the age of 5 until the age of 15. I loved living at Maryvale, it was my home. I was loved and attended good Catholic schools. I can’t say enough good things about the Nuns and house mothers who took care of us.❤️ Picture of myself, sister, friends and our social worker at Maryvale’s pool . I’m the redhead 🧑🦰
Libby StackJan 14, 2024A. Fredericks - I lived there from the summer of my 3rd grade until my senior year of high school. This was my home and I saw many girls come and go. I lived here the longest of all attending. 1950's to 1970's so this is a very long time. I loved Coyote the big German shepherd dog that love chasing the cars as they entered. I have so many great memories and I had so many good friends.

Questions parents ask about MARYVALE
Is MARYVALE a licensed child care provider in California?
- Yes. MARYVALE holds California licence 198020768, currently listed as "CLOSED" by the Department of Social Services, Community Care Licensing Division, first issued on June 18, 2021. Confirm current standing with the agency before enrolling.
What kind of child care licence does MARYVALE hold?
- California licenses MARYVALE as a school age day care center, a category that covers school-age children outside school hours. The category comes from the state's own licence record, not from the provider.
How many children can MARYVALE care for?
- MARYVALE is licensed for up to 20 children at one time. Licensed capacity is a ceiling set by the state, not a count of current enrolment or of available places.
Has California visited MARYVALE in response to a complaint?
- California records no complaint-driven visits to MARYVALE. That means no concern prompted a visit on the public record, which is not the same as a clean inspection history: the state does not publish what its visits found.
Who holds the licence for MARYVALE?
- The licence is held by MARYVALE. California lists the licensee separately from the facility name, so the two often differ. The facility is in Los Angeles County.
