What California does not publish here

The state publishes when licensing staff visited, not what they found. We do not hold California’s inspection findings, so nothing on this page tells you whether a visit resulted in a citation. A visit count is a measure of licensing activity, and a facility visited more often is not for that reason a worse one. Read the findings in California’s own facility search.

  • We’ve had our kids here for about five years now, pre-pandemic and during and after. Things have changed in that period of time, but we’ve been extremely happy with how they’ve worked with our children over the years. Starting up front, the negatives. They compete with area Pre-K and TK (transitional kindergarten) programs, including a school district program that is free and, when paired with their HEARTS afterschool program, runs much later than Milestones does. Milestones’ closing time of 3pm is challenging if you’re both working parents (or if you’re a single working parent), and of course costs more than the district options. As far as private childcare goes, they’re much more cost-competitive and can take younger kids (age 2 or so) than the free option. It’s a tough value argument to make if it interferes with a typical 9a-5p work schedule. That being said, we definitely like the overall value proposition. Compared to the area TK options, Milestones emphasizes learning through play (whereas area TK options are more like an extra year of kindergarten). They do an excellent job of helping kids work through early-childhood socialization with other kids, and we feel our kids came out of it with a lot of empathy and social skills, as well as problem-solving and conflict resolution skills. Academically, we’ve found their learning-through-play style to be wonderfully effective. Both our kids have learned how to love and enjoy learning here. I’m not certain the TK “extension of kindergarten” format would have been as effective at doing this. Either way, results speak for themselves. Our daughter was a candidate for grade-skip at the end of 1st grade and our son is, at age 5, excitedly bringing home reading homework from Milestones, eager to show off. In all, the most important thing to us is our kids have LOVED going there. Dinner conversation often went over playing with their friends, encountering some conflict (“this kid isn’t sharing” or “they went to play with this other friend instead of me” playground drama), and often talked about how the teachers helped them work through the conflict maturely. I wish the hours were better, but I also know that back when they WERE open until 6pm the majority of parents did not keep kids there beyond 4 anyway, so the hours reduction made a *lot* of sense to them (often only a couple of kids would be remaining past 5pm). Sum of it is, this is a great place to take your kids, with great and caring staff that do emphasize actually preparing kids to eventually “age out” and go to kindergarten.

  • Teachers and staff have no training and cant handle a 3 year old , no wonder the school has very few students. No structure no solid learning, better off looking elsewhere! Suggest worker's look for for new field of work because i cant call them teachers .

  • I am so grateful for Milestone Pre K! All of my 3 children have been cared for by them. Ms Kim has been a blessing to me and my kids. The team are very caring and trustworthy. I never had a problem with communication or with how they cared for my kids. My girls learned so much there and even got potty trained. Recently my youngest "graduated" from Milestone to kindergarten and I'm a little sad I don't have any other kids to take there lol. Thank you so much Milestone pre k for caring for my children for all the moments, smiles, hugs, knowledge laughs, comfort you provided while I was not there. You all will always hold a special place in our hearts 🩷

Questions parents ask about MILESTONES PRE-K-LEARNING CENTER

Is MILESTONES PRE-K-LEARNING CENTER a licensed child care provider in California?

Yes. MILESTONES PRE-K-LEARNING CENTER holds California licence 334842629, currently listed as "CLOSED" by the Department of Social Services, Community Care Licensing Division, first issued on March 12, 2014. Confirm current standing with the agency before enrolling.

What kind of child care licence does MILESTONES PRE-K-LEARNING CENTER hold?

California licenses MILESTONES PRE-K-LEARNING CENTER as a day care center, a category that covers preschool-age children in a centre-based programme. The category comes from the state's own licence record, not from the provider.

How many children can MILESTONES PRE-K-LEARNING CENTER care for?

MILESTONES PRE-K-LEARNING CENTER is licensed for up to 42 children at one time. Licensed capacity is a ceiling set by the state, not a count of current enrolment or of available places.

How often has California inspected MILESTONES PRE-K-LEARNING CENTER?

California records 2 inspection visits to MILESTONES PRE-K-LEARNING CENTER, the most recent on April 17, 2024 and the earliest on record June 1, 2023. The state publishes the dates of these visits but not what they found, so this count reflects licensing activity, not results. Read the findings themselves in California's own facility search.

Has California visited MILESTONES PRE-K-LEARNING CENTER in response to a complaint?

California records no complaint-driven visits to MILESTONES PRE-K-LEARNING CENTER. That means no concern prompted a visit on the public record, which is not the same as a clean inspection history: the state does not publish what its visits found.

Who holds the licence for MILESTONES PRE-K-LEARNING CENTER?

The licence is held by MILESTONES PRE-K-LEARNING. California lists the licensee separately from the facility name, so the two often differ. The facility is in Riverside County.
