What California does not publish here

The state publishes when licensing staff visited, not what they found. We do not hold California’s inspection findings, so nothing on this page tells you whether a visit resulted in a citation. A visit count is a measure of licensing activity, and a facility visited more often is not for that reason a worse one. Read the findings in California’s own facility search.

  • So glad we found this hidden gem! My 2-year-old boy hadn’t been to any daycare before MSJCC, so I was a bit worried about the transition at the beginning. But thanks to Teacher Mei, he adjusted surprisingly fast - within just a week! Now, after a month, he’s eating by himself more, putting on his own shoes, and even starting to insist on doing everything “myself, myself!” Teacher Mei is amazing - super professional, observant, and really knows how to guide kids in just the right way. You can tell she genuinely cares about each child’s growth, not just "watching” them but actually teaching them real life skills. Plus, she’s bilingual in English and Mandarin, which is such a bonus. I feel so lucky to have found MSJCC. Highly recommend it to any parents looking for a place where your kid will not only be safe and happy, but also learn independence little by little.

  • Added additional comment on 10/31/2025: After seeing how well our first child thrived, we had no hesitation sending our second one here too as soon as she is two years old. It feels like a second home where kids are happy, respected, and inspired to learn every day. We can’t thank the staff enough for their passion and commitment! We’re incredibly grateful for the wonderful care and education our children have received. ***** We feel incredibly thankful for the nurturing and enriching environment at Mission San Jose Children Center. The teachers, especially Ms. Mei, are not only professional and experienced, but also genuinely devoted to each child’s growth and well-being. Their bold dedication to early childhood education shines through every day. Our child looks forward to going to school and often talks excitedly about the fun learning activities and caring teachers. The center has helped build a solid foundation—not just academically, but in attitude and behavior as well. We’ve noticed positive changes in our child’s eating habits, social skills, and ability to follow routines independently. These daily habits and values are setting the stage for a confident transition to kindergarten.

  • We are truly grateful for the positive impact Mission San Jose Children Center—especially Ms. Mei—has had on our family. She is a caring, patient, and professional teacher who truly understands children and knows how to guide them with both love and structure. Ms. Mei pays close attention to each child’s needs. Whether it’s a learning challenge or an emotional moment, she always takes the initiative to help and communicate with parents. Whenever I’ve had parenting questions, she patiently offers thoughtful, professional advice. Her support means so much to us. One of the biggest advantages of this center is the bilingual environment. Our child has developed strong skills in both Mandarin and English naturally, which we believe will benefit them greatly in the long run. We’ve seen some negative reviews, but honestly, some of them seem more like emotional venting than a reflection of the real situation. From our own experience, Ms. Mei and the staff here are truly dedicated and responsible. We highly recommend this center to other families

  • We are so grateful to have found this daycare for our son! Ms Mei is an exceptional teacher—her background with RCEB early intervention really shows in the way she communicates with the kids. She’s patient, skilled, and truly understands child development. Ms. Kayla is incredibly sweet, loving, and caring, and our son absolutely adores her. The staff here create a warm, nurturing environment where children feel safe and happy. We’ve seen so much positive growth in our child since he started attending. Highly recommend this daycare to other parents! P.S: I love the holiday events that Ms Mei & Ms Kayla prepared!

  • I have my two boys went to this preschool. It has everything we need: big playground, big clean classrooms, lunch and snack provided, teacher speaks two languages. The teachers are caring and so experienced. Also this preschool has many families events during the year. Can’t be more happy with kids experiences.

  • I wish I could give Mission San Jose Children’s Center a zero-star rating!! I feel misled by the positive reviews about this school. On just the second day of my kid’s attendance, when I picked up my kid, I noticed my kid's shoes were switched—my kid’s right foot was in the left shoe and left foot was in the right shoe. This was not the case when I dropped my kid off. My kid said feet were painful. When I mentioned this to Ms. Mei, she immediately rebutted me, saying strongly, “This is normal. Children wear shoes incorrectly. We are not nannies. I understand your point, but I disagree.” Excuse me? You disagree that children should wear their shoes correctly? The next day, she retaliated by immediately terminating my child's enrollment, fully aware that there were no nearby preschools with available spots. In addition, Ms. Mei charged me tuition and fees that were clearly higher than what was listed in the school’s fee schedule and refused to clarify how these fees were calculated, despite my multiple requests. Ms. Mei has an extreme personality. She is careless, and often seems eager to argue. It feels as if she is the king of the school, expecting parents to listen to her without any questions. Ms. Mei believes no one can challenge her. She never acknowledges any problems on her part and never takes responsibility for any issues. When problems arise, she responds with, “You can report me to the authorities. I know how to handle that.” It seems she is quite familiar with being reported. As a teacher, I don't see any warmth or kindness toward the children—only coldness and neglect. Please avoid going to this school.

Is MISSION SAN JOSE CHILDREN'S HOUSE a licensed child care provider in California?

Yes. MISSION SAN JOSE CHILDREN'S HOUSE holds California licence 013420595, currently listed as "LICENSED" by the Department of Social Services, Community Care Licensing Division, first issued on March 22, 2011. Confirm current standing with the agency before enrolling.

What kind of child care licence does MISSION SAN JOSE CHILDREN'S HOUSE hold?

California licenses MISSION SAN JOSE CHILDREN'S HOUSE as a day care center, a category that covers preschool-age children in a centre-based programme. The category comes from the state's own licence record, not from the provider.

How many children can MISSION SAN JOSE CHILDREN'S HOUSE care for?

MISSION SAN JOSE CHILDREN'S HOUSE is licensed for up to 45 children at one time. Licensed capacity is a ceiling set by the state, not a count of current enrolment or of available places.

How often has California inspected MISSION SAN JOSE CHILDREN'S HOUSE?

California records 3 inspection visits to MISSION SAN JOSE CHILDREN'S HOUSE, the most recent on July 26, 2024 and the earliest on record March 11, 2022. The state publishes the dates of these visits but not what they found, so this count reflects licensing activity, not results. Read the findings themselves in California's own facility search.

Has California visited MISSION SAN JOSE CHILDREN'S HOUSE in response to a complaint?

California records no complaint-driven visits to MISSION SAN JOSE CHILDREN'S HOUSE. That means no concern prompted a visit on the public record, which is not the same as a clean inspection history: the state does not publish what its visits found.

Who holds the licence for MISSION SAN JOSE CHILDREN'S HOUSE?

The licence is held by MISSION SAN JOSE CHILDREN'S HOUSE, INC. California lists the licensee separately from the facility name, so the two often differ. The facility is in Alameda County.
