What California does not publish here

The state publishes when licensing staff visited, not what they found. We do not hold California’s inspection findings, so nothing on this page tells you whether a visit resulted in a citation. A visit count is a measure of licensing activity, and a facility visited more often is not for that reason a worse one. Read the findings in California’s own facility search.

  • We LOVE this school! My daughter started at MCPC's Toddler Playtime Program right after they re-opened during the pandemic. The Toddler program is for kids 18 - 36 months old and they get to play with so many different activities around the school. Someone has to stay with the child during the class so it was great watching her explore and learn how things work. She loved the toddler program so much that she wanted to continue to their preschool. This is now her second year at the school and she still loves going to school every morning. One other thing that is so great about this school is that the Director and Board provide parent education before our morning work day meetings and at the General Meetings. I've learned so much and I feel like I've grown as a parent as well! This is a cooperative preschool, so there is a lot of work involved. But honestly, it's really rewarding because I got to watch my daughter grow up into this amazing, confident, and independent little girl. She is so ready for Kindergarten, despite her speech delay. Having my daughter go to this preschool was our best decision! The other parents at this preschool have grown with me, and we've all become part of this community. We all can lean on each other whenever we need anything, or even when we want to go on vacations! This school, its Toddler and Preschool programs, the teachers and its community are amazing!

  • Both our girls went through MCPC, we cannot say enough good things about the school. The teachers are the best around, the play based philosophy has helped our kids thrive and we have learned a lot as parents through the coaching and support of the community. Being part of a co-op is hard work, but I am glad we put in the effort: it is paying off big time as our kids are graduating preschool being experts at conflict resolution, using all the social-emotional tools they have been taught to use and being all around happy kids ! If you have time to put in the work DO IT!!!

Questions parents ask about MONTCLAIR COMMUNITY PLAY CENTER

Is MONTCLAIR COMMUNITY PLAY CENTER a licensed child care provider in California?

Yes. MONTCLAIR COMMUNITY PLAY CENTER holds California licence 010216398, currently listed as "LICENSED" by the Department of Social Services, Community Care Licensing Division, first issued on October 18, 1994. Confirm current standing with the agency before enrolling.

What kind of child care licence does MONTCLAIR COMMUNITY PLAY CENTER hold?

California licenses MONTCLAIR COMMUNITY PLAY CENTER as a day care center, a category that covers preschool-age children in a centre-based programme. The category comes from the state's own licence record, not from the provider.

How many children can MONTCLAIR COMMUNITY PLAY CENTER care for?

MONTCLAIR COMMUNITY PLAY CENTER is licensed for up to 30 children at one time. Licensed capacity is a ceiling set by the state, not a count of current enrolment or of available places.

How often has California inspected MONTCLAIR COMMUNITY PLAY CENTER?

California records 2 inspection visits to MONTCLAIR COMMUNITY PLAY CENTER, the most recent on September 24, 2025 and the earliest on record October 20, 2022. The state publishes the dates of these visits but not what they found, so this count reflects licensing activity, not results. Read the findings themselves in California's own facility search.

Has California visited MONTCLAIR COMMUNITY PLAY CENTER in response to a complaint?

California records no complaint-driven visits to MONTCLAIR COMMUNITY PLAY CENTER. That means no concern prompted a visit on the public record, which is not the same as a clean inspection history: the state does not publish what its visits found.

Who holds the licence for MONTCLAIR COMMUNITY PLAY CENTER?

The licence is held by MONTCLAIR COMMUNITY PLAY CENTER. California lists the licensee separately from the facility name, so the two often differ. The facility is in Alameda County.
