What California does not publish here
The state publishes when licensing staff visited, not what they found. We do not hold California’s inspection findings, so nothing on this page tells you whether a visit resulted in a citation. A visit count is a measure of licensing activity, and a facility visited more often is not for that reason a worse one. Read the findings in California’s own facility search.

I recommend Monterey Park Christian School as I feel that our son has been well taken care of and loved there. Certainly not because he is well behaved, but I felt the deep care and love from the teachers for the students. This was not just from his current teachers or from teachers the prior year, but I genuinely felt that about all of the staff. Now that my son is transitioning to public school I worry that he is not going to get as much teacher interaction and certainly not the tailored level of care that he had been receiving. He knew every teacher by name and they all knew and loved him, even with his challenging moments. I wouldn't say that every interaction was perfect, as if I had rose tinted glasses. Kids are unpredictable and of course there were schoolyard disagreements from other students against my son and equally disagreements from my son against other students. These situations were dealt with promptly in the moment and follow up was done through us, and presumably, the other parents (I would not know because the names of the other students were kept confidential, as it should be). There were times we felt challenged by teachers to help our son meet the milestones, such as potty training. There were times it certainly felt like I was not doing enough as a working parent for my son. But throughout our time at this school I have learned time and again that the challenge was not one given out of anger or frustration at us or at our son. These challenges were there with additional assistance and guidance for his benefit as well as ours. While my son attended the school, there were indeed staffing changes. It was usually because one teacher or another found a different position, or moved to a new location. These changes were always communicated to us as parents and were addressed in a well-wishing way with gratitude for that staff member. I appreciate everything that Mrs. Wong and the entire MPCS staff have done for our family. I hope that in the event we have a second kiddo that there will be space for enrollment.
Chris ReyesAug 4, 2025Our son just finished his time at MPCS and it was a worthwhile experience. The teachers are kind and encourage the kids to learn. The staff is also great and supportive of the kids’ journey. I appreciated the volunteer hour requirements as it led to greater interaction with other parents and building of a community. We highly recommend if parents want an engaging and educational environment for their children.
Viet HuynhAug 4, 2025my son just completed his final year at monterey park christian school and is now transitioning into public school. while we’re grateful for the relief of not paying tuition anymore, leaving MPCS is truly bittersweet…it feels like we’re saying goodbye to a second home. 😔 my son was deeply loved and nurtured. he absolutely thrived at MPCS at such a formative time of his life. he still tells me how sad he is to leave, and i’m not surprised to hear that; the staff and teachers loved him like he was their own, and i never once felt judged as a mom, even during his challenging moments. they always supported us with such grace, especially during the potty training days (my gosh, i don’t think i could have gotten through that season without their partnership; potty training my stubborn son was hard! lol). he would come home every day singing songs, telling stories about the new things he learned, how he enjoyed playing with his friends. he often didn’t want to leave school during pick up because he just loved being there. one day, he even told me he loved the school director, mrs. desireé, because “she’s so beautiful~ i like her.” my heart just melted lol. 🥹 i’m going to miss this school deeply. it’s been a place of joy, safety, growth, and the love of God. MPCS will always, always hold a special place in our hearts. if you’re considering preschools/daycares, i wholeheartedly recommend monterey park christian school. in all the choices i’ve made for my son’s life as his mom, this is one where i have absolutely zero regrets.
Emily Reyes (麻嘉玲)Aug 3, 2025Our kids have been attending MPCS since 2021, when they first opened up after the pandemics. Our son graduated Kindergarten at MPCS and our daughter is still attending Pre-K. MPCS has been like a second family to us ever since the beginning. Their overall size is perfect for those who wants to attend a school and feel like they'll be part of a strong community. The school has many events and gatherings that create opportunities for parents to meet and setup playdates for their children. The staff is very friendly and truly cares about the children. The facility has been significantly improved after going through several rounds of remodeling. We would definitely recommend MPCS to other parents of young children.
Karl MaNov 27, 2024No matter what other people say, we still love Monterey Park Christian School! We love how our kids come home very happy, singing and praising Jesus. Never heard a complain from them especially about the teachers. My kids love their teachers and I know how they handle kids because my kids mimic them at home. We feel the love and concern of all the teachers & staff not only to our kids but to our families as well. We may hear few people say bad things about this school but you should also hear all many other very good and heart warming stories from parents who sent their children (some have 2,3,even all 4 kids!) in this wonderful school. Let us not be discouraged by people trying to bring a good organization down just because they were busy judging innocent kids’ behavior. Mrs. Wong and the rest of the team is willing to help children having difficulty and at the same time demonstrating to other well behaved kids how to be kind and understanding when friends need help. They don’t abandon kids and families who are in need of help rather, they reach out to families to be more understanding and supportive to the community. I guess it’s all how we see things and I see nothing but good things at MPCS. I highly recommend this school if you want to set up a good foundation to your children. God bless you MPCS!
Joan STSep 27, 2024The administration is a joke. They turn a blind eye to bullying and special need children acting out. If your child is victim to bullying from another child, they victim blame instead of addressing the root issue. They allowed my 3 year old daughter to be grabbed by the throat by another little boy who is a known bully and has hurt many other kids and even staff. They still won't do anything. They told some parents that this is a new issue with the boy or that there are problems at home that his parents are working on. But when my husband asked for our daughter to be in a different class Mrs Wong told him this can't be guaranteed because if they put all the kids he hurt in a class away from him, he would be in a class by himself. When I started demanding they kept my daughter separate from him. They failed multiple times, and my daughter kept getting injured by him. He is physically attacking other children, and the administration STILL victim blames. Even when 1 child had scratches on his face by him, teachers said they never noticed it when his mom asked what happened. How do you not notice a child with scratches on his face?? How badly are they neglecting these children where a child appears with noticeable scratches on both cheeks out of nowhere and nobody cared to notice?! When his personality started to change due to the bullying of this child...the same one who grabbed my daughter by the throat, who almost broke an aids glasses, been removed from a tadpole class for not getting along with each child in that class, PUSHED ANOTHER CHILD DOWN THE STAIRS (YES YOU READ THAT RIGHT!!!), bites kids and bullies other kids, yet the administration blames the poor victim's personality change and nightmares on his sleeping schedule. At least 3 children have left this school so far due to the horrible way they are addressing bullying at this school, and afraid of this very problematic child. They won't expell or remove a child from school either. Just stupid incident reports will be emailed out. If your child sticks up for themselves while being bullied, your child will get in trouble. Not just the bully who is hurting your kid. So, in other words, mpcs is telling children to shut up and take abuse in silence. I'm not about that life. I want my daughter to defend herself or at least know that if she comes to an adult for help, they will listen and help her. There are plenty of children and parents who complained about this child, and they still don't do anything but blame the victims. I have a screenshot of where the director told me she would pray to God to protect my child. Because God is the only one who can protect her. I get that this is a religious institution, but no. Praying won't fix this issue. That's a cheap way to say you won't do your job. Everything is hand-me-downs...toys, equipment etc and they don't even have child sized toilets. They did a renovation recently and put in normal sized toilets even tho they promised us child size toilets. Children have fallen into their own urine/poops. Administration just wants your money so they won't care if your child comes in sick unless it's very bad and can't be ignored. This leads to an outbreak of something or another almost every other week. There's no structure anymore. it's a free for all, over priced play date. they leave the jugs of water for the kid outside in direct sunlight. This is a huge health risk. Bottled water should never be left in cars or direct sunlight due to the rays of the sun causing the plastic to soften and release chemicals into the water. Licensing has come out more than usual in 2023. I regret recommending this place to friends and having people join the school. If you value your child's safety and well-being and future mental health, GO ELSEWHERE I have so much more to share, if you want more info, find my review on yelp and send me a message They even blocked me from their Facebook page after I left a 1 star review because they know they messed up and I'm not one to stay quiet about the disgusting practices there.

What kind of child care licence does MONTEREY PARK CHRISTIAN SCHOOL hold?

Has California visited MONTEREY PARK CHRISTIAN SCHOOL in response to a complaint?
