What California does not publish here

The state publishes when licensing staff visited, not what they found. We do not hold California’s inspection findings, so nothing on this page tells you whether a visit resulted in a citation. A visit count is a measure of licensing activity, and a facility visited more often is not for that reason a worse one. Read the findings in California’s own facility search.

  • We had a sudden change in circumstances & had to stop using MTCC. They charged us for 2 weeks of childcare for something outside of our power, holding us to a contract signed by not us. On the child's last day they were discharged with their back pack, lunch box & sleeping bag but they kept all our diapers and wipes. An additional expense to us. They never told us that 2 wk notice required when we advised we needed to pull the child out. They do not provide meals daily, you must pack. They do provide one hot lunch a month. Our current/new daycare provides breakfast, lunch, snacks & bedding for naps. Living on opposite side of town, fighting traffic daily was stressful & major parting reason. The positives: clean & fun. Sensory & outside play. Our little had been learning a lot, counting & abc's. They stay open till 5:30, otherwise I wouldn't have even been able to use them.

  • I cannot say enough good things about the Slater St. location of Mt. Taylor Children's Center. Our 3 year-old has attended there for over a year and he has absolutely thrived. He used to be speech delayed, but being in a positive environment like this helped him to come out of his shell and exert his confidence. The staff are very well-organized and it's clear that they care about what they do, and understand the responsibility they hold. I never worry about my child being safe, happy or well cared-for - I truly have peace of mind and can go about my day. I enthusiastically recommend Mt. Taylor!

  • We love Mt. Taylor! We moved our daughter here from a different daycare two years ago and have had a great experience. I wish we would have known about it when my son was in preschool, because it is far and above Rosebud. Karen the director is amazing, as are teachers like Monica, Marie and others. They seem to really understand the needs and abilities of the different age groups, and have reasonable expectations for behavior based on development stage. My daughter is pretty “spicy”, and i think they do a good job at redirecting her when necessary, and also teaching conflict resolution. They are all also very kind and professional. Also, they offer so many fun activities for the kiddos. Gymnastics on Mondays, yoga on Wednesdays, a weekly Spanish music class, family picnics and parades… lots and lots to keep the kids engaged. Oh, and we love the daily pictures or videos of our little gal playing with her friends. We all know how expensive childcare is, but I think it’s actually reasonable considering all that it has going for it. A real gem (:

  • Here is another well deserved 5-star rating for this sweet preschool. They took utmost care of my child. She knows how to write all letters and is now entering T-k. She also learned about kindness and other skills important to my family. This is a rare opportunity and we have treasured the time.

  • My daughter loves Mt Taylor. She is excited to go to "school" every morning to see her friends and teachers. We are lucky to have such a great and affordable place for her so close to our house.

  • We son went to Mt. Taylor preschool full-time for 2 years. It's a wonderful school with great staff and very affordable, given how expensive preschool can be. I highly recommend this school. They are also very flexible with summer plans and days of the week. My son originally started at 4 days a week and we later increased to 5 days.

What kind of child care licence does MT. TAYLOR CHILDREN'S CENTER hold?

California records 1 inspection visit to MT. TAYLOR CHILDREN'S CENTER, the most recent on November 7, 2024. The state publishes the dates of these visits but not what they found, so this count reflects licensing activity, not results. Read the findings themselves in California's own facility search.

Has California visited MT. TAYLOR CHILDREN'S CENTER in response to a complaint?
