What California does not publish here

The state publishes when licensing staff visited, not what they found. We do not hold California’s inspection findings, so nothing on this page tells you whether a visit resulted in a citation. A visit count is a measure of licensing activity, and a facility visited more often is not for that reason a worse one. Read the findings in California’s own facility search.

  • This is an extraordinary place for children and families. If you’re seeking an exceptional, Reggio-styled school, with experienced teachers and a closely-connected community — NSW is for you. What a gift for westside families. Thank you NSW!

  • From the warm environment to the incredible teachers and the tight knit community, New School West is everything we could’ve ever hoped for to guide our child’s early development. The level of thought and care that goes into every aspect of the school experience is simply incredibly, and we couldn’t be happier to be a part of it. What Roleen and the faculty have built here is really unique and special. If you’re looking for a Reggio-inspired pre-school on the West Side, this is the one. Do yourself a favor and go on a tour to see it for yourself.

  • This is truly one of the most exceptional preschools in Los Angeles. As someone born and raised here, with many friends and experiences in the local parenting community, I can say with complete confidence that this is a uniquely special place for a toddler to grow and thrive. The teachers have been here for years and bring genuine care and warmth to both the children and their families. It’s an inclusive, welcoming environment where every child and parent feels accepted and valued.

  • We truly feel like we found our place at New School West. Our daughter absolutely loves it and is supported by teachers who really see her and nurture her curiosity. The community is warm, creative, and nurturing, and it is preparing her wonderfully for Kindergarten and for being a part of the world. We couldn’t be happier.

  • I cannot say enough positive things about NSW, and feel so proud, excited, and honored it is where we are lucky enough to send our daughter to school. The community is so caring and inclusive, not just of the children during the school day, but of the whole family and greater community. Our daughter absolutely adores her teachers—so much so that she often asks if she can stay longer at school each day. In just two months, we’ve seen her imagination and communication blossom in ways that have amazed us. The environment is peaceful, collaborative, and filled with opportunities for deep, interactive learning. NSW touches your heart, inspires you to be a better parent, and makes you profoundly grateful to know your child is being so deeply understood, loved, and challenged to grow every single day. We also have a 3 month old, and so between our 2 kids, I feel so excited knowing how many years we will get to be a part of this magical place.

  • We feel so lucky to be part of New School West community. From the moment we joined, it was clear this is a very special place. The teachers and staff immediately blew us away with how incredibly kind, nurturing, and intentional they are with the kids. They really take the time to see each child as an individual, and our child has absolutely thrived here. What’s been just as meaningful is the community. The families here are warm, welcoming, and truly invested in building connections—not something we would have ever expected to find in a preschool, but it’s become such a huge part of our experience. I cannot recommend NSW enough. It's so much more than a preschool - it really is a special family.
