What California does not publish here

The state publishes when licensing staff visited, not what they found. We do not hold California’s inspection findings, so nothing on this page tells you whether a visit resulted in a citation. A visit count is a measure of licensing activity, and a facility visited more often is not for that reason a worse one. Read the findings in California’s own facility search.

  • My son is 3 and he has been at Pacifica Co op through last fall up until now, and we could not be happier. We fell in love with the schools philosophy and facility right away but it was the teachers and school community that really won us over. We feel our son is incredibly safe and cared for at PCNS. The children are getting well thought out lessons every day along with art projects, singing, dancing, special guest readers, field trips, events and so much more. My little one has separation anxiety and the teachers have been so amazing to give my little guy a little extra TLC, to get him get through goodbyes . We are so happy with Pacifica Co-Op!! We will be so sad when it's time to move on. They really give the whole family such a great, preschool experience. Trusting people with our children is hard, Pacifica Co-Op makes it easy! 🌈🤸‍♂️

  • This school is SO AMAZING! We recently moved to Pacifica and started at the co-op 6 weeks ago. My son immediately felt at home and is so happy every time I pick him up. The teachers are spectacular, the parent involvement is amazing and I can't get over how happy the kids (and parents) are! My son, who didn't enjoy his previous school at all, loves it here. I would have drove from SF here if I knew about it when we lived up there!! Highly recommend!

  • Pacifica Co-op Nursery School holds a special place in my heart, and I feel incredibly fortunate to have the opportunity to share this experience with my daughter. I attended the school myself over 25 years ago as part of their beloved "Bug School" program, and now, my daughter is creating her own sweet memories there. Every time I reflect on my time as a child at PCNS, I cherish those early years—years filled with exploration, learning, and friendships. It's been such a joy to watch my daughter experience the same warmth and care I did, and to see her develop friendships, curiosity, and confidence in the same cozy, familiar environment. One thing I absolutely love about PCNS is the sense of connection it fosters within our small town. Whenever I mention to someone in the community that my daughter attends, whether it’s at the library, the vet, or even at the grocery store, I’m always greeted with a smile and a personal story about their own experience with the school. It’s clear that PCNS has touched the lives of so many in our town over the years, creating a legacy of fond memories and a true sense of community. This school isn’t just a place for kids; it’s woven into the fabric of our local life, and it’s a joy to be part of that. However, I think it’s important for prospective families to understand that PCNS is not a traditional daycare or preschool. It’s a very hands-on experience, and parents are expected to be actively involved in their child’s education. From participating in potlucks and volunteering in the classroom to helping with fundraisers, the school requires a significant time commitment from parents. This works best for families who have the ability to dedicate time to these activities—ideally, families with one stay-at-home parent or those who can adjust their schedules to fit in the various duties. That said, the rewards are truly worth it. The close-knit nature of the school, the personal involvement, and the strong sense of community make PCNS an incredibly special place. It’s more than just a preschool—it’s a space where generations of families have come together to support one another and create lasting memories. I’m so grateful to be able to share this experience with my daughter and continue the tradition of being part of the Pacifica family. If you’re looking for a school that values community, involvement, and fostering real connections, this is the place. Just be prepared for the time commitment, and know that the investment will pay off in so many ways!

  • We love the co op nursery school. My toddler looks forward to going every morning and always comes home with stories of his adventures. The community building with the families creates a supportive, warm and nurturing environment for everyone. Can’t wait to go to school tomorrow!

  • My 3.5 year old started preschool here this year after an unexpected move to Pacifica and while we were worried that we may have rushed the decision, we could not be happier. She comes home every day and tells us how much fun she had at school, she is so proud that she's learning her letters and numbers, and it's so great to see her form relationships with the other kids and parents at the school. Also, as new transplants to Pacifica it's a great way to integrate ourselves into the community!

  • Our two kids (4 and 2) love going there. Currently they view it as a treat to go to school, because they are having fun there. The tree house, playground and swings on the outside and all the toys inside are all big draws for them. All parents have jobs at this school. And we really like that. It gives us additional opportunities to learn about educating kids.

Questions parents ask about PACIFICA NURSERY SCHOOL

Is PACIFICA NURSERY SCHOOL a licensed child care provider in California?

Yes. PACIFICA NURSERY SCHOOL holds California licence 410509300, currently listed as "LICENSED" by the Department of Social Services, Community Care Licensing Division, first issued on August 29, 1988. Confirm current standing with the agency before enrolling.

What kind of child care licence does PACIFICA NURSERY SCHOOL hold?

California licenses PACIFICA NURSERY SCHOOL as a day care center, a category that covers preschool-age children in a centre-based programme. The category comes from the state's own licence record, not from the provider.

How many children can PACIFICA NURSERY SCHOOL care for?

PACIFICA NURSERY SCHOOL is licensed for up to 35 children at one time. Licensed capacity is a ceiling set by the state, not a count of current enrolment or of available places.

How often has California inspected PACIFICA NURSERY SCHOOL?

California records 3 inspection visits to PACIFICA NURSERY SCHOOL, the most recent on February 25, 2026 and the earliest on record May 26, 2023. The state publishes the dates of these visits but not what they found, so this count reflects licensing activity, not results. Read the findings themselves in California's own facility search.

Has California visited PACIFICA NURSERY SCHOOL in response to a complaint?

California records 1 complaint-driven visit to PACIFICA NURSERY SCHOOL. A complaint visit means someone raised a concern and the state went to look. California does not publish what those visits found, so the count on its own does not say whether any concern was upheld.

Who holds the licence for PACIFICA NURSERY SCHOOL?

The licence is held by PACIFICA NURSERY SCHOOL, INC.. California lists the licensee separately from the facility name, so the two often differ. The facility is in San Mateo County.
