What California does not publish here
The state publishes when licensing staff visited, not what they found. We do not hold California’s inspection findings, so nothing on this page tells you whether a visit resulted in a citation. A visit count is a measure of licensing activity, and a facility visited more often is not for that reason a worse one. Read the findings in California’s own facility search.

I can't say enough good things about Palo Alto Montessori School. Our son was there for three years, from when he was 2 until he turned 5, and honestly the change in him has been wonderful to watch. He's confident now, happy, curious about everything, and genuinely excited to go out and take on the world. The school has a warm, cheerful environment. At pickup, I always found my son happily playing in the sandpit or on the monkey bars with his friends. He also looked forward to the fun events throughout the year, from gymnastics and dance classes to visits from fire trucks and police cars. PAMS isn't the kind of school that sends daily photos and updates. What I did get, regularly, was my son's actual work - his coloring, the pin-pinching sheets, the number and sound books, and that showed me clearly just how much he was progressing. The teachers are so caring. A few of them have been at the school for decades, which really says something. You can tell they love being there, and that comes through in how patient and warm they are with the kids. Dinesh, the headmaster, was a huge help to my husband and me. He helped us understand what our son actually needed and make good decisions for him along the way. Our progress conversations were never generic. He noticed specific little things about our son that I'd noticed at home too, and that showed me he was really paying attention. It gave me so much peace of mind. A lot of the parents I know ended up sending their second child here as well, and to me that says it all. My son starts Kindergarten this fall, and we are so sad to leave PAMS. A huge shout-out to all the teachers — Dinesh, Monica, Isidra, Dayani, Tony, Monique, and Cynthia. Thank you! If you're thinking about PAMS, I'd say go for it, just get on the waitlist early because it's a long one. Highly recommend!
Aarthi MarkandeyJul 24, 2026Our daughter has been enrolled at PAMS and absolutely loves it. She is in a nurturing environment with wonderful teachers. She is learning a lot and gets a chance to be a kid, play outdoors, learn about gardening, and experience different cultures and traditions. Dinesh and the entire staff are wonderful in every way.
Talha BaqarFeb 24, 2026We’ve had a wonderful experience here. Our son attended from age three to four and a half and loved going every day. He built strong relationships with his teachers, made great friends, and always talks about the things he learns and enjoys in class. The program is individualized and the teachers meet each child where they are. We saw clear growth in his confidence and early writing skills, including pencil grip and letter formation. The classroom setup and daily structure are thoughtful and developmentally focused. Communication with teachers and staff was always easy and responsive, both for logistics and child specific questions. The community events are also a highlight. The Halloween parade and Christmas performance are magical. We are only leaving because we are moving out of the area. Otherwise we would absolutely stay.
Amy HekmatFeb 6, 2026Our two boys went to Palo Alto Montessori school and we recommend it without reservation. The team is great, caring and experienced, with extremely low turnover (no one left and there was a single new hire over six years), and the parents form a very friendly community. Most importantly the school focuses on letting kids be kids, and the first thing that struck us on our first visit was the happy kids playing and laughing all around. We had a very different experience at a more commercial daycare. Through the COVID years Dinesh was constantly following the latest findings and recommended practices to try and minimize the risks, in collaboration with the parents, while minimizing the disruption to the kids development. To our knowledge there has been zero cases of transmission through the school. Our two kids loved it there and left well prepared for kindergarten.
Jim Braux-ZinAug 24, 2025Palo Alto Montessori is an incredible place for a toddler to grow. We had our daughter there from when she was 2 and she really flourished. The staff are very well trained, caring and watchful. Our trust in the school and staff was 100%.
Adrit LathJul 30, 2025We enrolled our daughter at Palo Alto Montessori when she was 2.5 years old, and we couldn’t be happier with our experience. The daycare is extremely well-run, with a highly structured daily routine that provides a sense of predictability for both children and parents. This made the transition for our daughter incredibly smooth. Palo Alto Montessori has a rich history—founded by the mother of the current owner, Dinesh, it was the first Montessori school in the Bay Area. This legacy is reflected in the school’s deep commitment to the Montessori philosophy. Our daughter had the opportunity to express her creativity and enjoy free play while also engaging in age-appropriate, hands-on learning activities. By the time she graduated, our daughter was not only academically prepared for kindergarten but also equipped with essential behavioral and social skills. What stood out the most to us was the school’s focus on fostering a love for learning. Dinesh and his team made learning exciting and joyful for our daughter, and he even provided us with excellent tips to nurture that enthusiasm at home. Overall, we feel so fortunate to have found Palo Alto Montessori.
