Licensing visits on record

California records 1 routine inspection visit and no visits prompted by a complaint to PETITE SCHOOL HOUSE.

  1. Most recent inspection visit

What California does not publish here

The state publishes when licensing staff visited, not what they found. We do not hold California’s inspection findings, so nothing on this page tells you whether a visit resulted in a citation. A visit count is a measure of licensing activity, and a facility visited more often is not for that reason a worse one. Read the findings in California’s own facility search.

Recent parent reviews

  • IF YOU READ ANY REVIEW, READ THIS FIRST! For context my children (3) have been going to PETITE SCHOOL HOUSE since 2017 and I’ve never left a review for them. Now that my last daughter is set to complete kindergarten next month(June) I find it fitting to leave this review. After-all, not many folks can say, “through thick and thin,” and yet you have found 1! Since 2017 my wife and I have placed all 3 (2 girls and 1 boy) of our children at Petite. My children are now 11, 7 and 5. My 5 year old daughter is the last to attend (sadly). Here is what you get at Petite: LOVE, ATTENTIVENESS, STRUCTURE, FUN PLAYTIMES, POTTY TRAINING, FOOD, FIELD TRIPS, and EDUCATION. All 3 of my children graduated from Petite knowing how to read, write and count beyond 100. They could tell time, knew the days of the weeks, months and year. Our children always were excited to tell us what they learned. Also, my children have been educated by the same kindergarten teacher. The Director is amazing. She was promoted from assistant director years ago. Let’s speak on Price. Is it expensive? For what you get, I would say NO. The kids get full service attention and education. Potty training is a priority. Health is a priority. And the quality of learning is a priority. I 100% RECOMMEND PETITE TO ALL PARENTS THAT NEED AND WANT THEIR CHILDREN TO GET A HEAD START IN LIFE. Through the BS Covid experience Petite was there for my family and many others. We’ve had instances where my children had to go to the hospital because accidents happen and petite handled it with tact and care. They were prompt and showed sincere remorse that my child had gotten hurt on their watch. That remorse and sincerity means a lot to my family. All 3 of my kids loved to attend petite. After reading the 1 star reviews there is no way I was not going to leave a stellar review. Listen, this is a school. The teachers stay in their lane and do what they do…educate and communicate. I feel the 1 star reviews that were recently left are disingenuous and mis-leading. Go check out those folks profile and you immediately find something is fishy…could they be related….NAAAHHHHH. 🤣

  • Petite School House shaped my daughters in ways that I’ll forever be grateful for. My girls are now six and four, and both had the privilege of going here. It came highly recommended by family, so I already had a good feeling about it — but somehow it still exceeded every expectation. The love, care, patience, and education they received here are truly unmatched. Honestly, if I could keep my girls little forever just so they could always stay here, I would. That’s how much this place means to our family. The foundation Petite School House gave my daughters will stay with them forever, and as a parent, there’s nothing more comforting than knowing your children were genuinely loved and cared for every single day. You truly won’t find another school like this one.

  • I love everything about Petite. My child has been there for 3 years and thrives. She loves going to school everyday. The teachers are kind and supportive and the director, Miss Salmeena, is amazing. I drop my daughter off with no worries, knowing they are providing a caring and safe environment. The communication is impeccable - we always know what’s going on with events, curriculum, policies, etc. They also provide on-site activities like petting zoos, puppet shows, bounce houses, and field trips for the older kids, just to name a few. It’s such a special place. Don’t know what we would have done without Petite!

  • This has been one of the most frustrating and disappointing personal experiences I have had with any educational institution. From the very beginning, it became clear that this kindergarten struggles with basic organization, communication, and overall management. Important updates are frequently missed or shared too late, leaving parents confused and forced to constantly follow up for clarity. What is even more concerning is the lack of attentiveness and consistency in how children are supervised. At times, it feels like the staff is either overwhelmed or not adequately prepared to handle the responsibilities of caring for young children. As a parent, that is extremely unsettling. A school should provide a safe, structured, and nurturing environment, but here it often feels disorganized and unpredictable. The learning environment itself also falls short. Activities do not appear to be thoughtfully planned, and there is little evidence of a structured approach to early childhood development. Instead of fostering growth and curiosity, the atmosphere feels chaotic and lacking direction. Another major issue is the way concerns are handled. Feedback from parents seems to go nowhere, with little to no visible effort to address ongoing problems. This creates a sense that accountability is missing, and that concerns are not taken seriously. Considering the expectations and cost associated with a school, this experience has been far below what any parent would reasonably expect. There are much better options available that provide proper care, communication, and professionalism. I would strongly advise others to think carefully before enrolling their child here. BIG “NO” for this school.

  • Our family has been a part of Petite School House for several years, my son attended for two years, and currently, my daughter has been thriving there for another two years. From the very first tour, Petite felt like home to us. The warmth and dedication from the director and all the teachers truly set this school apart. As an educator myself, I understand how challenging it is to meet the diverse needs of every child and parent. What impresses me most about Petite is how the entire staff goes above and beyond to support each family. Whether it’s helping with a tearful drop-off or adjusting to individual needs, they are always willing to jump in and lend a helping hand. One of the things that meant the most to me as a parent was the level of communication. My son had speech difficulties when he was younger and wasn’t always able to tell me about his day or communicate what was happening at school. Despite that, I never once felt out of the loop. The teachers and director were incredibly proactive in keeping me informed, which gave me so much peace of mind during that stage of his development. Now, my daughter is completely different. She shares every little detail about her day! And even with that, the teachers still take the time to communicate important updates and insights, ensuring we never miss anything meaningful. That consistency and care in communication really speaks volumes. Another thing we truly appreciate is how structured and predictable each day is. Lessons begin promptly at 9:00 a.m., and the day flows smoothly from there. This consistency has been so beneficial for my children, helping them feel secure and ready to learn. A great breakfast is also served before 9:00 a.m., which is such a wonderful bonus and ensures they start their day nourished and prepared. So really, all I have to do is my part as a parent and get them there on time, lol. My children have very different personalities and experiences, yet Petite has beautifully nurtured their independence and confidence. The thoughtfully designed curriculum prepares children exceptionally well for TK, Kindergarten and beyond, giving them a solid foundation for their academic journey. We also receive monthly updates that keep us informed about what they’re learning, including their Farm to Table program and a variety of enriching extracurricular activities like soccer, dance, ninja, gymnastics, and art, just to name a few. The daily menu is outstanding, with healthy, delicious options that have given me peace of mind, knowing my kids are well-nourished; no need to worry about packing lunches every day! Communication is always clear, timely, and supportive, making us feel truly connected and informed. Petite School House is much more than a school; it is a caring community where every child is valued and encouraged to grow. We are grateful for the loving environment that has helped shape my children into confident, independent learners. I wholeheartedly recommend Petite to any parent looking for a nurturing and professional preschool experience.

  • Petite School House is the best experience I’ve ever had at a daycare! The office staff is amazing, very good with communication, and they go above and beyond for the children. The teachers set the children up for success for when they start school. The education and care is unmatched. They’re also very transparent, parents can come at any time and see live surveillance of their child’s classrooms. They also plan activities and events throughout the school year for the children’s entertainment. My children were there for four years each and we all had a great experience. Thank you Petite School House!!

Questions parents ask about PETITE SCHOOL HOUSE

Is PETITE SCHOOL HOUSE a licensed child care provider in California?

Yes. PETITE SCHOOL HOUSE holds California licence 197419097, currently listed as "LICENSED" by the Department of Social Services, Community Care Licensing Division, first issued on January 7, 2014. Confirm current standing with the agency before enrolling.

What kind of child care licence does PETITE SCHOOL HOUSE hold?

California licenses PETITE SCHOOL HOUSE as a day care center, a category that covers preschool-age children in a centre-based programme. The category comes from the state's own licence record, not from the provider.

How many children can PETITE SCHOOL HOUSE care for?

PETITE SCHOOL HOUSE is licensed for up to 182 children at one time. Licensed capacity is a ceiling set by the state, not a count of current enrolment or of available places.

How often has California inspected PETITE SCHOOL HOUSE?

California records 1 inspection visit to PETITE SCHOOL HOUSE, the most recent on September 29, 2025. The state publishes the dates of these visits but not what they found, so this count reflects licensing activity, not results. Read the findings themselves in California's own facility search.

Has California visited PETITE SCHOOL HOUSE in response to a complaint?

The licence is held by LEBEAU ENTERPRISE LLC. California lists the licensee separately from the facility name, so the two often differ. The facility is in Los Angeles County.
