What California does not publish here

The state publishes when licensing staff visited, not what they found. We do not hold California’s inspection findings, so nothing on this page tells you whether a visit resulted in a citation. A visit count is a measure of licensing activity, and a facility visited more often is not for that reason a worse one. Read the findings in California’s own facility search.

  • Long overdue post! We had a great time at Playtowne. Tiffany and Alex were wonderful, I had a lot of questions and Alex was quick to respond. Tiffany did an awesome with the decorations and balloon arch. There was a little mix up with the communication about the balloon arch but they were able to accommodate my needs last minute. Everyone, especially my son, had a great time. I didn’t think an hour and 45 minutes were going to be enough but it was just the right amount of time. Thank you Playtowne for making my son’s 3rd birthday one to remember.

  • Such a fun and creative space for kids parties. The pre-school is also lead by such attentive and caring teachers. The owners are so easy to work with and very communicative. I love having this space in town.

  • So we’re old visitors of their old space Busy Town that visited a lot and my almost 10yr son loved when he was younger. The new space Play Towne is just as wonderful and great for my new little guy to blow off steam. The space is very open with lots of cool toys, Wonderful tiny houses with additional items that matches the theme of the house to keep him busy and happy! The parties are always nice and simple and wonderful for kiddos, and easy for the parents to let the staff run the event and let the kids have a blast. We shall visit again soon! Thanks Play Towne🌹🌹

  • We enjoyed the place more than expected. They’re for birthday party and found out it’s also a daycare/preschool program there with options of part time or full time. We definitely want our child to go there once she turns 2.

  • Great space for children to play and learn. The staff does a great job of making sure the experience is top tier for kids and parents alike. Would highly recommend for anyone looking for children party space or pre-k services.

  • We went here for a birthday party, and it was amazing! Play Towne in Millbrae is a fantastic place for kids. They also offer a preschool program that I wish my kids could attend. The staff is friendly and attentive, and the facilities are clean and well-maintained. The birthday party experience was top-notch, and the children had a blast. I highly recommend Play Towne for both birthday parties and their preschool program.

Questions parents ask about PLAY TOWNE

Is PLAY TOWNE a licensed child care provider in California?

Yes. PLAY TOWNE holds California licence 414005031, currently listed as "CLOSED" by the Department of Social Services, Community Care Licensing Division, first issued on October 10, 2023. Confirm current standing with the agency before enrolling.

What kind of child care licence does PLAY TOWNE hold?

California licenses PLAY TOWNE as a day care center, a category that covers preschool-age children in a centre-based programme. The category comes from the state's own licence record, not from the provider.

How many children can PLAY TOWNE care for?

PLAY TOWNE is licensed for up to 30 children at one time. Licensed capacity is a ceiling set by the state, not a count of current enrolment or of available places.

Has California visited PLAY TOWNE in response to a complaint?

California records no complaint-driven visits to PLAY TOWNE. That means no concern prompted a visit on the public record, which is not the same as a clean inspection history: the state does not publish what its visits found.

Who holds the licence for PLAY TOWNE?

The licence is held by PADILLA, TIFFANY. California lists the licensee separately from the facility name, so the two often differ. The facility is in San Mateo County.
