What California does not publish here
The state publishes when licensing staff visited, not what they found. We do not hold California’s inspection findings, so nothing on this page tells you whether a visit resulted in a citation. A visit count is a measure of licensing activity, and a facility visited more often is not for that reason a worse one. Read the findings in California’s own facility search.

TL/DR: Playhouse is a smaller school with a warm, family feel and genuinely caring teachers. After getting into some other highly rated and competitive schools, I specifically chose Playhouse for these reasons. The only issues (which are both resolved) are the lack of grassy play area (they already have contractor estimates to build one), and a differing approach to food (so we just bring our own lunch). Highly, highly, highly recommend Playhouse! We were all set to begin at another school where we had been on the waitlist for over a year, but after doing the final visit and experiencing the classroom full of kids (as opposed to the first tour when the kids were outside playing), I realized how loud, chaotic, and cramped the classroom felt. I knew my child would take a bit to warm up, and could see she was totally overwhelmed and scared. Even though I had given up our spot at Playhouse, I called Jessica and she worked with me to get another spot. I love how small the class sizes are at Playhouse and I do think it genuinely helped my daughter adjust to the change. The other reason I went with Playhouse was our teacher - I absolutely LOVE our teacher, Shay (Nashaya). During our tour, I noticed that she (and the other teachers) actually got down and interacted with my daughter in an authentic and genuine way, and my daughter started participating in the class activity all by herself. Teachers Nikki, Dani, and Elyssa have also been amazing. They always greet us and show genuine excitement about their work. To be totally transparent, there are two things that we felt like could improve, but are also things that are/can be resolved: 1. The outdoor space is currently a concrete courtyard (with a huge shade tree). I saw all the beautiful grass out front and was hoping the kids would get to play on it everyday (especially during the heat), but the church has been slow to allow those types of accommodations. However, the school finally has approval to create a play yard. They’ve already gotten estimates from contractors, so this should be done soon-ish. 2. We lean health-freak, and don’t eat much processed or sugary food at home. I really appreciate that Playhouse provides all meals and snacks (breakfast, lunch, AM/PM snack), but we ended up bringing our own lunch because the menu didn’t align well with the foods we wanted our daughter eating. So, this really wasn’t an issue at the end of the day. All-in-all, we really love Playhouse. It’s a welcoming, caring place for kiddos, and I am so thankful for everything them!

Questions parents ask about PLAYHOUSE PRESCHOOL AT RESTLIFE
Is PLAYHOUSE PRESCHOOL AT RESTLIFE a licensed child care provider in California?
- Yes. PLAYHOUSE PRESCHOOL AT RESTLIFE holds California licence 343624886, currently listed as "LICENSED" by the Department of Social Services, Community Care Licensing Division, first issued on September 1, 2023. Confirm current standing with the agency before enrolling.
What kind of child care licence does PLAYHOUSE PRESCHOOL AT RESTLIFE hold?
- California licenses PLAYHOUSE PRESCHOOL AT RESTLIFE as a day care center, a category that covers preschool-age children in a centre-based programme. The category comes from the state's own licence record, not from the provider.
How many children can PLAYHOUSE PRESCHOOL AT RESTLIFE care for?
- PLAYHOUSE PRESCHOOL AT RESTLIFE is licensed for up to 37 children at one time. Licensed capacity is a ceiling set by the state, not a count of current enrolment or of available places.
How often has California inspected PLAYHOUSE PRESCHOOL AT RESTLIFE?
- California records 1 inspection visit to PLAYHOUSE PRESCHOOL AT RESTLIFE, the most recent on July 10, 2025. The state publishes the dates of these visits but not what they found, so this count reflects licensing activity, not results. Read the findings themselves in California's own facility search.
Has California visited PLAYHOUSE PRESCHOOL AT RESTLIFE in response to a complaint?
- California records 1 complaint-driven visit to PLAYHOUSE PRESCHOOL AT RESTLIFE. A complaint visit means someone raised a concern and the state went to look. California does not publish what those visits found, so the count on its own does not say whether any concern was upheld.
Who holds the licence for PLAYHOUSE PRESCHOOL AT RESTLIFE?
- The licence is held by PLAYHOUSE PRESCHOOL AT RESTLIFE. California lists the licensee separately from the facility name, so the two often differ. The facility is in Sacramento County.
