What California does not publish here

The state publishes when licensing staff visited, not what they found. We do not hold California’s inspection findings, so nothing on this page tells you whether a visit resulted in a citation. A visit count is a measure of licensing activity, and a facility visited more often is not for that reason a worse one. Read the findings in California’s own facility search.

  • We have had our son (5 y/o) enrolled at PVPG since they opened in 2022 and it has been nothing but the best experience! There are many reasons why I would recommend this program to any family. First, the staff are the most kind, patient and loving people. They are absolutely serving in the roles that they were meant to and it shows everyday. They love my son like their own and have been very supportive and loving even when our son is having some challenging behavior or big emotions! Second, the play-based program allows our son to be a kid! I was hesitant when we started this program that there wasn’t a strong focus on “academics”. But after experiencing the impact of a play-based environment (check out the research on this model), I couldn’t care less about that today. Our son LOVES going to “school” each day because he gets to be himself, play outside with friends, and get dirty! Kids should be kids, and PVPG allows him to do that. Lastly, our son has learned so many social and emotional skills through this program. He has learned about sharing, conflict resolution, team work, exploration, imagination, and socialization. I have had zero problems at this school and I strongly recommend that any parent enroll their student. We participate full time and wouldn’t have it any other way.

  • I am so impressed with PVPG. Our daughter went here for 2 years and is leaving now only because it’s time to start kindergarten. Nicole puts her heart and soul into every little bit of this program and makes it truly magical. It’s like stepping into a fairy garden, with experiences beyond what we could ask for. I am so impressed at the effort and love they put into every day. Nothing beats knowing your child is in good, caring, loving hands.

  • Our daughter started at PVPG when she was 2.5 (a year ago,) and it has been an incredible experience. She’s gained so much confidence, independence, and emotional awareness. The emphasis on outdoor play (rain or shine,) hands-on activities (gardening, food prep and art,) open-ended toys, and interactions with animals (tortoises, chickens, mice, snakes, and fish!) makes learning imaginative, joyful and natural. The staff are warm, thoughtful, and truly supportive—encouraging peer-to-peer conflict resolution and creating a space that feels both safe and loving. Family events (lemonade party, special someone day, tie-dyeing,) further support a nurturing community space. PVPG has given her a beautiful foundation - and given us so much peace of mind.

  • I could not ask for a better preschool for my children. We sent our daughter here and now our son is here getting to experience all the wonderful aspects of this school. I love how so many of the activities are outdoors based. This program has really helped my kids to enjoy being outdoors. Their creativity and imaginations have skyrocketed and I know they are building confidence, social skills and learning every day they are here.

  • Our son has gone to Pleasant Valley Play Garden for almost 3 years and he has thrived there! The teachers are so kind and patient with him (and us!). We love the nature based and play based atmosphere and couldn't have asked for a better preschool experience. We are so blessed to have such an amazing preschool option (and now home school enrichment as well) in our community!

  • I’ve had my two children at PVPG for over a year and a half. One of my children is autistic and I’ve never felt comfortable leaving them with other caretakers, but the teachers at PVPG are incredible. My child couldn’t be in a better environment, they’re supported and seen as an individual and an asset to the program. They have blossomed in their social and fine motor skills and most importantly, they’re part of the community. I can’t say how much it means to me as a parent, to know they’re seen and valued, as that’s not always the case for autistic kiddos. Both of my children love attending “school” and they come home with stories about their discoveries and experiences, and I love knowing they are with attentive and kindhearted staff who are educated and passionate about child development and have my children’s best interests in mind.

Questions parents ask about PLEASANT VALLEY PLAY GARDEN LLC

Is PLEASANT VALLEY PLAY GARDEN LLC a licensed child care provider in California?

Yes. PLEASANT VALLEY PLAY GARDEN LLC holds California licence 093624390, currently listed as "LICENSED" by the Department of Social Services, Community Care Licensing Division, first issued on September 23, 2022. Confirm current standing with the agency before enrolling.

What kind of child care licence does PLEASANT VALLEY PLAY GARDEN LLC hold?

California licenses PLEASANT VALLEY PLAY GARDEN LLC as a day care center, a category that covers preschool-age children in a centre-based programme. The category comes from the state's own licence record, not from the provider.

How many children can PLEASANT VALLEY PLAY GARDEN LLC care for?

PLEASANT VALLEY PLAY GARDEN LLC is licensed for up to 24 children at one time. Licensed capacity is a ceiling set by the state, not a count of current enrolment or of available places.

How often has California inspected PLEASANT VALLEY PLAY GARDEN LLC?

California records 3 inspection visits to PLEASANT VALLEY PLAY GARDEN LLC, the most recent on April 20, 2026 and the earliest on record August 15, 2023. The state publishes the dates of these visits but not what they found, so this count reflects licensing activity, not results. Read the findings themselves in California's own facility search.

Has California visited PLEASANT VALLEY PLAY GARDEN LLC in response to a complaint?

California records no complaint-driven visits to PLEASANT VALLEY PLAY GARDEN LLC. That means no concern prompted a visit on the public record, which is not the same as a clean inspection history: the state does not publish what its visits found.

Who holds the licence for PLEASANT VALLEY PLAY GARDEN LLC?

The licence is held by PLEASANT VALLEY PLAY GARDEN LLC. California lists the licensee separately from the facility name, so the two often differ. The facility is in El Dorado County.
