California records 0 routine inspection visits and 3 complaint visits to RISE N SHINE.

What California does not publish here

The state publishes when licensing staff visited, not what they found. We do not hold California’s inspection findings, so nothing on this page tells you whether a visit resulted in a citation. A visit count is a measure of licensing activity, and a facility visited more often is not for that reason a worse one. Read the findings in California’s own facility search.

  • My daughter was going here for three months. A new owner took over and ran the place down in two weeks. She gave no notice to mothers who worked full time and who were in the military. We showed up to drop off our kids and the daycare was shut down. No notice or anything. Once I got in touch with the new owner she stated it was not her problem and that if they open back up they will contact us. "If they open". So unprofessional.

  • My wife & I could NOT believe how poorly our kid was treated! He would have really BAD Diaper rash, We supplied them with 50 diapers A WEEK. We would pick him up and sometimes he'd be in the same diapers that he was dropped off in. Also he would get sick on a weekly basis. If he could have talked and told us, we would have pulled him out of there earlier. This is a really horrible place, NO CHILDREN SHOULD HAVE TO GO THROUGH WHAT HE WENT THROUGH!!

  • My 3 year old has attended rise n shine daycare since he was about 6 months old, and I have zero complaints. Staff is very nice and friendly, and seem to be awesome with all of the children. He always comes home with something new he learned, which makes me confident that he is getting the care and attention he may not get at other places. Love this place

  • My daughter has attended this daycare on and off since she was 1. The incident below was some time ago, and I addressed it with the daycare. The teacher responsible was fired, new locks, gates, and signs were posted as a result. In addition to this, the entire staff, as I understood it, was re-counseled on the importance of locking the school yards gates. I have a new little who is starting soon, and I feel safe and comfortable leaving my children in their care.

  • My toddler grandson escaped and was found wandering toward the street. The manager did not inform us of the incident for a week! They have multiple citations and fines. The manager is still there.

Questions parents ask about RISE N SHINE

Is RISE N SHINE a licensed child care provider in California?

Yes. RISE N SHINE holds California licence 376700867, currently listed as "CLOSED" by the Department of Social Services, Community Care Licensing Division, first issued on January 2, 2012. Confirm current standing with the agency before enrolling.

What kind of child care licence does RISE N SHINE hold?

California licenses RISE N SHINE as a day care center, a category that covers preschool-age children in a centre-based programme. The category comes from the state's own licence record, not from the provider.

How many children can RISE N SHINE care for?

RISE N SHINE is licensed for up to 37 children at one time. Licensed capacity is a ceiling set by the state, not a count of current enrolment or of available places.

Has California visited RISE N SHINE in response to a complaint?

California records 3 complaint-driven visits to RISE N SHINE. A complaint visit means someone raised a concern and the state went to look. California does not publish what those visits found, so the count on its own does not say whether any concern was upheld.

Who holds the licence for RISE N SHINE?

The licence is held by RISE N SHINE, LLC. California lists the licensee separately from the facility name, so the two often differ. The facility is in San Diego County.
