What California does not publish here

The state publishes when licensing staff visited, not what they found. We do not hold California’s inspection findings, so nothing on this page tells you whether a visit resulted in a citation. A visit count is a measure of licensing activity, and a facility visited more often is not for that reason a worse one. Read the findings in California’s own facility search.

  • From a donor’s perspective, it’s important to trust that time, money, and support lead to meaningful, lasting change. However, there appears to be a gap between what the residential program presents and what it consistently delivers. When individuals complete a year-long program and still struggle with long-term stability, it raises concerns about its effectiveness. The program highlights success stories of people employed within the organization, which is encouraging, but without recent examples of graduates thriving independently, the overall impact remains unclear. While the residential program provides structure and faith based classes, its practical skill building is limited. There are some classes, but they are not sufficient to prepare participants for real world independence. Spiritual growth is valuable, but it cannot replace consistent development in job readiness, financial stability, and long term planning. The internal work structure builds routine, but it does not translate into real job opportunities outside the program. Communication and support are inconsistent. Programs serving vulnerable populations require reliability and accountability this doesn’t mean perfection, but it does require consistent follow through. There are also concerns around privacy and professionalism, as well as messaging that can come across as dismissive toward individuals who struggle, rather than supportive. At its core, the residential program functions more like a one-year shelter than a comprehensive pathway to independence. Shelter is important but presenting it as more than it can consistently deliver creates a disconnect. Programs like this should align their promises with measurable, long-term outcomes.

  • I’ve lived there for 7months. From false accusations to not being able to speak on problems in mediations, Im happy I made it out. I was exited for an argument with another student where staff was not present until the very end, and Julia (staff member), who reported it told me my behavior was a "C minus and not good enough." Who was she to judge? no clue. They told me they handle things individually, I believe to show favoritism, because I am one of many students who has complained about the same individual. There was no written documentation on my behalf, just whatever the staff and Tim (The director) believed, though I was the one getting provoked. Following that incident, they attempted to put in an isolation room for days, being the only person on the floor, with restriction meaning I cant go outside or anywhere. Solitary confinement for the homeless? I refused. To promote a place of refuge disguised by control is ungodly. Upon leaving, Ms.EddieRuth only gave me 15mins to pack to leave. She said they usually give an hour. Then when I came back to get my things she sarcastically asked me, "Are you happy? Don’t you live in a tent?" Volunteers and donors have no clue whats it like to live there.

  • Mario & Benjamin showed kindness and compassion in their on location outreach for those in need, from free gift cards for gas and food to housing, security deposit, marriage licenses, medical treatment and accessing more programs. Their prayer, hot coffee and care restores our Faith. They help those who need help. They brought tears of joy and built confidence that “where there is no way a way is made!”

  • The last of the review, Sabrina was wearing a three piece warm brown and dress today, she stands there a little tense at the computer wondering about updates, she is scratchy with her voice a direct when Alpha come up along with not having rooms for several day call ins. She snaps when you want something done a bit, says too quickly hold on. Yikes. Holy wow, this is going to be great infomation, we don't have to share the birth place of our mother and dad if we don't want to. I told very good and unique looking George to day in front of a girfriend of his and mine that he looks like the man I knew while attanding the church comminity lunch in Los ANgeles. I thiught he was the long haired dude related to Whoppi Goldberg while in front of Sabrina, Sabrina got sniffy. So, I justify everything in inclamate weather to share I am not much of a racist if interpreted wrong. I love people.
