What California does not publish here
The state publishes when licensing staff visited, not what they found. We do not hold California’s inspection findings, so nothing on this page tells you whether a visit resulted in a citation. A visit count is a measure of licensing activity, and a facility visited more often is not for that reason a worse one. Read the findings in California’s own facility search.

The owners(Ms Katie) administrative behavior is deeply erratic and cruel. Our daughter attended this school for 1.5 years. Following a simple, question regarding a late fee and a request to turn off AutoPay, she completely flew off the handle. Rather than engaging in a professional conversation, she chose to abruptly expel our 4-year-old daughter on the spot(even though my daughter was expected to graduate in just 2 months) and left our conversation. She later sent an email giving us 2 weeks of transition time. Me and my wife went in person after receiving the email to request re-consideration to avoid disrupting our daughter's routine and said we will agree with whatever terms Ms. Katie wants us to follow. She treated us like we're not even worth a conversation. Because of her toxic behavior, we decided to end it right the same day. Because of the owner's inability to manage a basic business conversation, our innocent daughter is now forced to miss her pre-K graduation party on June 13th, for which she had spent weeks proudly practicing her songs and dances. The teacher churn was extreme. My daughter had 5 different main teachers in the last 1.5 year (Ms. Su, Ms. Ar, Ms. Ad, Ms Sh, and now Ms. Ju). The school was run like a mess after the talented Director Ms. Ar was fired for no reason. Ms. Sh had 40 years of experience in the field and she was fired after 3 months due to internal politics. We decided to unenroll our daughter twice, first time Ms. Sh requested dearly to continue but she was fired after a month. We decided to unenroll again after Ms. Sh was fired but Ms. Katie requested so much to keep us enrolled and promised direct care and attention to our daughter. After all this, she's the one to terminate our enrollment over a minor conversation. As parents, we trust schools to care for our children's emotional well-being. To abruptly expel a child and strip them of their graduation milestone over a minor administrative disagreement with a parent is unacceptable. If you look for stability, emotional maturity, and a safe environment for your child, please look elsewhere.
Naveen Kumar IppiliJun 1, 2026My son went to Santa Clara Montessori on Thomas Rd for 8 months. Before this location, he went to Santa Clara Montessori on El Camino Real for almost 3 years, starting at 18M. Now, he goes to Pre-K somewhere else. Definitely, I’d say what he learned from these two schools (math, alphabet, even potty and mealtime routines) is helping him transition more smoothly to Pre-K. Overall, we liked Ms Katie’s schools. We liked their curriculum and teachers (Ms Adriana in particular because she was his group teacher). My son is usually slow to warm up when he’s in a new environment. Having Ms Adriana there helped a lot. She's nurturing and knows how to take care of each kid individually. Other teachers are kind and warm as well. My son seemed to enjoy going to school because of his friends and teachers. Having warm, healthy lunch prepared daily by Ms. Katie was really helpful too. One less thing to worry about for us parents. I would recommend Santa Clara Montessori to others who live in the area.
Pitchaya WSep 15, 2025We chose Santa Clara Montessori school for our 2-year old who is now a 3 year old back in 2024. After touring many schools we came across SCM . Ms.Aruna gave us the tour. She explained their program so well that we instantly filled up the paperwork and wanted to start the school right away. We felt she is kind and gentle and could sense that she is very patient with the students. We were aware that my daughter would cry initially and will take some time to adjust as it was her first time straight from home to a brand new school. To our surprise she adjusted so well within a few days. Ms.Aruna updated us about her day with messages, pictures and videos. After a few weeks she started asking us on the weekend too that she wants to go Ms.Aruna's school. What stood out to me was was Ms.Aruna's Curriculum and the events she organized. We could see so much improvement in our child's learning, independent and public speaking skills. We also got to see other parents and my daughter's friends during the events which is a very rare thing in other schools. These events are so refreshing for us and also get to see my child's interactions with other kids. My daughter says that Ms.Aruna is her best friend . She also likes Ms.Suprava and other staff members very much . What is unique about the school is the curriculum ,teaching style and consistent work schedule. She used to send a monthly curriculum and activity calendar every month and that makes this school so different from others. I refer my friends about the school saying this is just not the same regular school as other schools and would say it's more special as the staff and Ms.Aruna are so welcoming and would make my daughter's routine schedule so special everyday. We had to relocate from Santa Clara to Fremont and I had no choice but to put her in another school. Once we moved, I sent my daughter to Santa Clara just to make her feel better as she loves to be around Ms.Aruna. Unfortunately the commute was getting too long and I decided to put her in Fremont school. I can say how much my daughter misses her old school and Ms.Aruna. She says that she wants to go to Ms.Aruna and Ms.Suprava school. I can see the quality of the school and the routine and can compare here and there. I am hoping my daughter will settle in soon at her new school but she is definitely missing her old school, especially Ms.Aruna. What a positive impact she bought into every child's life . I would say all the parents and management are so lucky to have Ms.Aruna as the Center Director.
liso senthilJul 7, 2025Our son started at Santa Clara Montessori at 20 months old, and now at age 3, we couldn't be happier. Ms. Katie and the staff are incredibly nurturing and patient. It only took a couple of weeks for him to settle in—now he runs into class without looking back! He’s grown more confident and expressive, and even started eating healthier by copying his classmates. We’re so grateful for the loving, supportive environment they've created. It’s made a huge difference in his early years.
Vivian PhamApr 30, 2025My daughter has been attending Santa Clara Montessori for the past six months, and our decision to enroll her has proven to be one of the best choices we’ve made. Initially, we were looking for a nurturing environment to help her develop better social skills, and learning development. During our first introduction to the school, Ms. Katie was incredibly thorough and informative. She took the time to explain the resources available to us and the curriculum my daughter would be engaging with. Since joining the school, my daughter has made tremendous progress, thanks to the dedicated support from educators like Ms. Katie, Ms. Aruna, Ms. Suprava, and Ms. Adriana. They have played a key role in her cognitive development, expanding her vocabulary, and enhancing her social abilities. I am truly pleased with the growth we’ve seen, and I feel confident that this is the right environment for her. Another major advantage of Santa Clara Montessori is its close proximity to our home—just two miles away, which makes drop-offs and pickups incredibly convenient. What I particularly appreciate is how the educators at this school give individualized attention to each child, ensuring they have the opportunity to develop at their own pace and receive the support they need. The staff goes above and beyond to make learning engaging and enjoyable for the children. Additionally, the school celebrates all the major seasonal events, such as Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas, which adds a fun and festive atmosphere to the learning experience. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with our decision to choose Santa Clara Montessori for my daughter, and I feel confident in the positive impact it continues to have on her growth and development.
Gian-Carlo AtayanJan 7, 2025Our child has been attending Santa Clara Montessori from when she was 18 month old (she is 4 and a half now). She went to the El Camino Real location for 2 years which we absolutely loved! We moved her to this Thomas Road location around a year ago and we absolutely love this location too! Mrs. Katie, the owner, has ensured that the same excellent standards are maintained in both locations. Just like with the other location, this one has a very structured learning environment but is still very intimate and nurturing -- and kids absolutely love the setting! The Thomas Road location building is new and it has been set up very nicely (colorful, clean, clean toilets including a kid height toilet). The environment is very roomy and they have a really nice playground area. Mrs. Aruna who is the director of this facility is simply amazing! Our child has flourished in her and the teachers' care and has been exposed to various arts and sciences at this very young age. She has learned to read and write the alphabet, do basic math, improve her general knowledge, developed her social skills and has made many great friends. Their summer programme is fantastic - it runs for a few weeks in the summer and each week has a theme (prehistoric, farmer's market, water fun etc.) and they do activities related to this theme. This is our child's favorite part of the year! Mrs. Aruna and the teachers go above and beyond to make this a huge success. They also upload many pictures and videos of your kid's day at school (to their school app) and it is always so satisfying to see this. Other things: - In terms of the daily lunch and snacks - the school introduces the kids to a wide variety of foods and encourages them to try new things. - Throughout the year, they also have a few fun events in which the parents participate. We love Santa Clara Montessori and as parents -- it has been very reassuring to know, in hindsight, that we made an excellent choice for our kid. We will always remember these years at SCM very fondly. It's a testament to how Ms. Katie and Ms. Aruna run things!

What kind of child care licence does SANTA CLARA MONTESSORI hold?
- California licenses SANTA CLARA MONTESSORI as a single licensed child care center, a category that covers infant, preschool and school-age care under a single licence. The category comes from the state's own licence record, not from the provider.
How many children can SANTA CLARA MONTESSORI care for?

Has California visited SANTA CLARA MONTESSORI in response to a complaint?
